What a great, charming place in the middle of chain-dining suburbia!! My dad stopped by to help me with some repairs around the house, and we found ourselves here for a late Sunday afternoon lunch on the patio. Even though we were both dressed in our "DIY home repair" best, and most of the other patrons looked, well, a lot nicer - our server was still phenomenal! And the food was even better!! Everything was fresh, unique dishes and ingredients, and tasted wonderful. The patio was also a surprising little oasis, right on the side of a busy road, but you'd never know it!! Lush landscaping and water features - very cool!

Came here for a business outing! OH MY GOODNESS! The food was amazing! The drinks were amazing! Everything about it was terrific! :) The desserts were small on selections, but there are so many dish to pick that I don't even think there is room for desserts! I would highly recommend.
I got the half roasted chicken and that was really really good! the brussel sprout might have been a little more overcooked than I would like them to be, but that did not stop me from eating the plate up! They were also super on top of refilling drinks and getting drinks out and about!

We dined at Porter Creek on December 8. I asked for a booth in the fireside room and got it. PC is warm and cozy. Nice ambiance. Our adult children were with us that evening. Our wait staff was friendly and accommodating.
The steaks and walleye were excellent.
PC always delivers good food and great service.

Great tasting food and great taste in improving the atmosphere and friendliness of the place. Their commitment to keeping anti-health and noxious types out makes it a national favorite! Try the walleye and hanger steak. And they have a good wine list.

to start with, our waitress was terrible. She forgot a drink 2 times, and there was only 4 of us. We went during the afternoon so it was like a late lunch. there was no one there so we expected the service to be awesome. (as I have heard really good things) the waitress took a good 30 minutes to ask us what we wanted to eat, after being switched to a different room because the waitress we were originally assigned was "tired and hungry" so she decided to take her break.
Out comes the food. the presentation was pretty cool. I ordered a quinoa chicken salad with a curry vinaigrette. I figured it would be either hot or cold but it was neither. it was room temperature, which is a bad sign. Chicken is a warm food and quinoa has to be boiled to cook. That being said, it either needs to be warm or kept under 40 degrees to keep from getting food poisoning.
my father had the chicken alfredo, which is pretty hard to screw up, but porter creek fell short yet again. the chicken seemed not all the way done with a strange texture, and the sauce on the noodles was so thick it dripped. It almost looked like soup when they brought it out. That being said, it was not a big portion. It was surprisingly small. Definitely not something you would pay 15.45 for. (the salad was about the same cost) we would have complained or said something, but the waitress waited until we were done with our food to come back, not even asking how the food was. (it seemed she just came to give us our much-to-high check)
I have never had to write a review, but I felt the need to write one due to the clear lack of effort from the servers and cooks.

It's an ok place, not awesome, not awful. Our server was attentive and the patio dining was nice. Food options and taste were so-so. The prices seemed a bit high for a noon meal, so will likely not go back for lunch time, but perhaps for dinner.

What a nice cozy place ... busy but you don't feel rushed. Hana was our server and she was marvelous! Food was great I had sea bass maybe slightly over cooked with califlower rice and vegetables which was delicious and it fit into my diet. Drinks were generous and a bit unique too. Love the atmosphere of this place.

Awesome meal and excellent recommendation on the wine to go with them. The steaks were amazing (tenderloin and N.Y. strip) and we were impressed by the depth of knowledge displayed by our server Liz on the drink, food and dessert menus. It was a thoroughly delightful evening!

The service is excellent. The selection of main course lunch items is very good. I had the best cold weather comfort food ever with the chicken pot pie. It is excellent and very filling. Also a portobello burger would be a nice addition to the menu. The dessert options have been the same for many years. More and different options would be much appreciated. An apple dessert would be nice.

Porter Creek is always the place my family goes to celebrate special occasions or simply to enjoy happy hour. We always receive the best service, especially from Kelly! Can't wait for the heavenly patio to open back up!

Service was very good but.....it started with the smallest salad I could fit in the palm of my hand. When they mention a starter salad they really mean micro. The steak was advertised as 8 oz that they slice, but in reality it had to be 4-5 oz. The broccolini and potatoes had no exceptional quality. My better half s meal was scallops that left her quite hungry. In general, we were very disappointed. We have had better meals at HyVee for the money.

The Positive: The restaurant itself is beautiful and comfortable. Our server was prompt, friendly, and professional. The Critical: I had the NY Strip. We stopped @Porter Creek to check it out due to overwhelming reviews. Not impressed. I've sampled a lot of steak at restaurants from Manny's all the way down to Perkins. I prepare a pretty decent NY or Ribeye myself, so I know what to look for. This was pitiful at that price point (+$30). It was a grittier texture. It was tough (the cut itself). On top of that, it was overcooked well beyond my desired and stated medium rare. I should have kept is simple. However, my wife had the Cobb Salad and was not terribly impressed with the bland salad and dry chicken breast. And how can anyone make a bad Cobb Salad as long as the ingredients are fresh? Weird. Too many other places out there to even warrant going back. I think places like this Porter Creek are starting to pop-up everywhere and the skill in the kitchen is being diluted.
