Poplar HARCA opened up my career path! I completed my pre-apprenticeship training programme here at Poplar HARCA with Barts Health to start a career with the NHS back in September 2019 - October 2019 and I am now proud to be an Internal Candidate with Barts Health NHS Trust after successfully completing my training period as well as being a regular Poplar HARCA client.
The Healthcare Horizons Programme which is offered helps young people to get into and secure apprenticeships within the NHS and I was offered immense support by the advisors Rahela and Akthar to write supporting statements, CV and interview help too! I would recommend Poplar HARCA to everyone!
Lastly the training manager Aledina miah was extremely helpful and supported me throughout my training journey to ensure everything ran smoothly and I was receiving the help I needed to complete my training and secure an apprenticeship as soon as possible.
I am very thankful for all the help and ongoing support which was provided to me and would like everyone in the local community to contact Poplar HARCA for help with especially getting young people into secured apprenticeships and paving a career path for them!

I found Poplar HAARCA Training & Employment very helpful as they helped me secure a job at St. Bartholomew's Hospital. Especially Rahela Chowdhury.
Terrible housing association by management and some of their employees. I have raised EWS1 issues with their CEO but never got back to me on twitter instead keeps sharing his bird passion :) it took 8 months to get EWS1 assesment completed. Over 2 years I lost 2k because I could not switch to another lender because of EWS1 and many people could not sell their flats for the same reason. Service charge goes up in a faster pace than anything else in this country. They once tried to double hot water bills which we opposed and they reverted their decision but overnight think about getting your bills doubled. Anyways I tried to get a parking lot from them and they said I should be able to use it starting from Monday and I cancelled my private parking. They sent me documents and I signed, everything supposed to be ready but guess what it has been 3 months since I have no parking lot. I never managed to get a response eventhough I have been emailing them for months. They don't care to respond at all. By any means this is a terrible company with terrible attitude with an exception, persons name was Angelica, she was amazing person for a terrible company. She was caring when I needed to talk to her and doing her job better than anyone else. Others simply will ignore you but I can not thank her enough for listening to me and trying to resolve issues we had. I will look for filing a formal complaint about them soon. They are now hiding behind covid19 but when it comes to service charges I see no postpones or delays. We pay as we supposed to be but we are not being served as we supposed to be.
Very bad customer service and it took them over 2 weeks to process a simple refund.
There finance department are run by bunch of donkeys.
Never again deal with them again.

Huh damn Harca, Were happily living since 1997 until those guys took over our housing from TH Council. They made millions out of poor area also, most of the employers are not living in the zone. Discrimination is everywhere. Rubbish of services in every bit.
Overall, Poplar Harca give terrible customer service, the left hand does not know what the right is doing. If you report a repair, they say it will take them 10 working days just to reply to the email!

I have the training and the trainers to be well presented and always at a level that everyone can keep out. The training is concise and meaningful.

poplar harca lettings team are absolutely useless.I contacted them in september last year requesting to be downsized to a 1 bedroom property as i live in a 2 bedroom property and cannot afford the rent. they haven't even contacted me about this...sitting around doing nothing no doubt and imo don't desreve the jobs they have

One of the worst group of people me and my family have ever dealt with. Unprofessional. Inefficient. Rude. Biased. Useless. The list goes on.
They do not respond or cooperate with you unless they want something. Unless they have an issue. Unless they want something done and when they do, it usually follows with a court order threat where they mention they contacted you previously when they haven't! Honestly, you cannot win with these people. They are making mine and my family's life difficult and have been doing so for years.
The communication between their own teams is so appealing that it never fails to amuse me. As mentioned in one of the other reviews, the left hand doesn't seem to know what the right hand is doing and vice versa.
I would strongly advise staying far away from this housing association. To not even look in their direction.

The repairs manager is impossible to get hold of as she is always in a meeting or she starts late and will never answer the phone.
Abdul is very rude, who will say anything to get you off the phone, he will tell you to call in 1 hour knowing full well that they will close after 30 min because they have a full day traing.
Please poplar harca admin don't send me a automated message asking to email you. I have emailed and and don't get response from you, I have emailed your complaints department and they also don't reply to my complaint, it's very close to time that I will get the on ombudsman involved.
Joe- is half decent but always will promise to call you back but never happens.
Kathy- will lie to you just to get you off her case.
Charlene- can't even read notes from the computer apparently there a different systems which notes are kept in- I can help you out put everything on 1 system so you can have everything centralised.
Also you guys are always breaching DPA and I will notify them of your breach, you have given me telephone number of 2 other residents and I have those calls recorded. I have all calls recorded with you guys and this will be used when I take you to court for the neglect you caused and the damage caused to my property.
Slow responses, head office consists of a circus act. You will be made to go round and round with no end result in site. Shambles!
Employment and training is a very good training center to improve the skills and building for career in future employment. As a trainee we get benefit from Poplar Harca, specially IT support by Riaz Ullah. I would like to thank him very much to support me.
Poplar HARCA Employment & Training Team are very friendly and go the extra mile in supporting clients with their job search and whenever I required support in my supporting statements and CV they are always there to help and give me the confidence that there is a service out there that makes a massive difference to individuals who have been unemployed for a long period of time. I am a beneficiary of this employment and training centre. They have help me a lot on range of courses so proud now to post my CV out there.
They have provided me with high quality trainers who have made every course so simple to understand. The highlight of me is humane side of the advisers patience, empathy, openness, willing and persevere with clients for their own good. Aledina and her team have been a great source of strength to my family. Please continue to give them the funding because they will change lives. They are masters of empowerment.

I have received so much support over the many years, as a parent, as a member of the community and for my own personal development. I trained with Poplar Harca and was able to volunteer, this enabled me to get in to employment when my children were older. I used the low cost services provided by Poplar Harca and managed my weight loss by attending exercise classes. I was finally able to give back some time as a way of saying thank you. I volunteered over summer and worked with staff to provide a summer holiday camp service to local families with young children.
I have gained so much knowledge and confidence through Poplar Harca and have rated them highly because of my own experiences.
Thank you to Poplar Harca for assisting with my new flat purchase. Throughout the whole Sales process Ashton W. was amazing, always keeping me abreast of developments and easy to speak to. I would hire Ashton within my Sales team in a heart beat!

By the way all the 5 star reviews are fake as they make new accounts and post. They all say they have 1 review and just look bait. Mine also but that's because this is a throw away account as is theirs but theirs is to pretend to be people that enjoyed their service, mine is to expose that. All those fake 5 stars and still an overall rating of 2.8 lol.

The worst HA. Perley house. I've had no heating for the last 6 months and especially worse through winter, they keeping sending k&t heating because they are low level response and cheaper, the guys have tried time and time again and cannot fix the problem. They change boiler valves here and there couple of times but still no luck! Hot water comes and goes and the bloody boiler pipes keep leaking. Its an absolute nightmare having to miss work all the time just to stay in for another emergency repairs call out which is bringing my employment under risk. My dad is a pensioner and the house is always cold!
K&T heating keep telling us that its a communal problem and they should send Combi to look at the problem but Poplar Harca are just too ignorant with zero duty of care towards their tenants. Absolutely disgraceful. Soon I will seek legal advice because too long has this been affecting our living and affecting my job. If you miss one weeks rental payment they go mad for the money but when it comes to providing a service they're not there, and funnily they add a service charge on top of the rent.
It amazes me how so many of the staff provide such bad service. Like I still haven't come across someone that is nice?

The worst landlord you could ever want. My mum's flat is in such a bad way.she lives on her own and for over a month now she has a hole in her bedroom celling.Theres water pouring into her room every time it rains,and poplar harca haven't done anything to fix it.There absolutely worst landlords ever,they shouldn't have been given any properties in tower hamlets as they clearly don't know how to serve there tenants or the local community.
Excellent support for employment services. I was looking for employment, came to see their advisors, she was very friendly, efficient and helped me get a job quite quickly. I still receive follow up calls to check how I am. Very settled in my new job. I would definitely recommend.
The social cleansers of Balfron Tower.
Poplar Harca were given Balfron Tower for free by Tower Hamlets council, and then they kicked all the social housing tenants out and are turning it into luxury flats in conjunction with a property developer.
After "regeneration" it will contain no social housing at all. It is a national disgrace, all supported by Labour politicians and their mates.

Whoever answers the phones Stacy or whatever her name is, what is her problem? Proper bad attitude, there are others who talk with a chip on their shoulder but she's the worst. stay clear of this association and find another.

One star seems to be generous for the attitude, response time and the general approach of Harca housing staff! We are shared owners in Langdon Park, the initial sales team was very pleasant to deal with and very responsive but as soon as we collected our keys the "can do" attitude completely vanished, it feels like we are dealing with a different company. We had to wait 3 months for someone to come in to fix all pre- existing defects reported. The person dealing with our parking space queries is rude and very unhelpful. You are lucky if you get any email response from them after two-three weeks. I used Harca portal to raise all queries as advised but they just disappeared! I have then raised a formal complain via their website and no one even bothered to respond. In the meantime they are just happily posting useless yoga videos on their Facebook page! Such a shame because we really love our flat but keeping our fingers crossed nothing goes wrong with it and we will never need Harca's support!!

I volunteered through Poplar Harca and have thoroughly enjoyed working with the local community and meeting new people.
Harca is only interested in building the ghettos and slums of the future. Their new Aberfeldy masterplan voted for by a tiny amount of residents to regenerate their current homes doesn't give them sweeping permission to move a school and reroute traffic. There are many residents in low level homes who have had no say to their new plans. They are greedy and only interested in profits, no care for population density or public amenities on small estates, nor any care for homeowning residents already here. We will have endured 20+ years of living in a building site with constant disruption to local streets and bus services. Anyone voting for this type of regeneration is extremely foolish.
Do poplar harca have a cleaner who can actually clean? Always rubbish left where I live; people are now fly tipping the cleaner walks right by it. When its reported its never collected. The binshed where I live has so much household rubbish its a joke the ajoining block the tenants & their guests smoke joints in a communal area....I'm sure that's illegal? Residents leaving bags of rubbish outside their property.... Where rats are now running around..lights that are broken that are never reported by the estate team.When you ring poplar harca its never their fault or problem. Could we have a cleaner and an estate team who take pride in their work?

Worst HA of all time, they never answer the phone, the staff are rude and the building is never maintained to a decent standard.
Tracy who answers the phones is very very rude and has a bad attitude when simply following up on things, awful experience.

Very bad customer service does not describe it! Even one star is generous. I suffered years of mould in my flat at the hands of Poplar Harca who did nothing to get rid of it. They only redecorate the affected areas which does not prevent it coming back and only after threatening to take them to court. Even the housing ombudsman takes their side which is disgraceful. The Poplar have threatened me time and again to take me to court if I get the slightest bit behind the rent.
Every time I became unemployed from no fault of my own and had to wait for my benefits to come through, they came at me with their notices of seeking possession! when I get paid UC it comes on the 10th of every month when the 1st of the month is when my rent is due. A few times they have come at me with their notices when a few days after the 1st has passed. Time and time again I have emailed the rent collectors to say I don't get paid until the 10th. How can you get blood out of a stone!
They call themselves a non-profiteering HA. Who are they kidding - they raised our rents astronomically since we transferred from the council and they charge us ridiculous service charges for no service! Eventually they will kick us all out because they got the land for redevelopment to build expensive apartments for the wealthy! Whoever ever voted to transfer from a secure council tenancy to an "assured" HA tenancy which does not give the same level of protection must have been out of their minds. I knew what they were about when they canvassed for our vote. I was a council tenant at my home address for 10 years before the transfer and I have seen the difference.
Very poor service and management, have to complain to the mayor of TH to get things done, they will lie to cover their mistakes, paking for estate parking and now they want us to do their job for them, and paying way more then before.
Everyone needs to complain to mayor of TH and get them to look at PoplarHarca.

Very sad to say that Poplar Harca service is dreadful. They are very defensive about themselves. If anyone raise any issues to the Poplar Harca , unfortunately it get overlooked by the management. They don't look into the problems of residents but defend their staff missbehavior. Cleaners don't do their job but hide in a place where they can sleep in the work place!

The new system at your new offices of meet, say who you are and have a seat and wait is inappropriate for all callers. It took 45 mins to get visitors scratch cards sorted. My time is precious and you shouldn t keep people waiting. It s rude. The young lady receptionist with a clipboard was inexperienced in dealing with the public. There were 2 stations and only one was being used so you were understaffed. Not really friendly either. Put experienced friendly staff at front of house, come on HARCA you can do much better.

Poplar Harca is the worst council you can be in like why did they take over from tower hamlets council when LBTH give right to buy of over 100k but rubbish Poplar harca only gives right to acquire which is only 16k! as a association it should be half price discount and support us in terms of house repairs and maintenance like we are paying service charge anyways. so sad. The customer advisors are also not very friendly and take a lot of time to deal with a situation.

The Employment and Training Team were really supportive and took time to help and guide me back into employment. I was also given details of courses and financial help available for people on low incomes. The whole Team were really friendly and professional. Thank you!

Talbot house, almost everyday someone urinates the lift. If you got cameras in the lift, hallway & entrances of in out the block why dont you use this and catch the idiots who does this. As we can't even get on the lifts sometimes as it's flooded, having children isn't easy useing the staires with health problems like sciatica & fibromyalgia. This is a 10 floor block not funny. That cleaner of yours in the blonde hair see's it evaporated by morning but still you can smell it and yellow dark marks still on the floor and she won't mop it only here and there she will. There's been so many complaints call about this issue as i have personally asked a lot of members in the block still nothing sorted.
