The car we hired was very good for a 10 day hire,I could not believe it when they charged us a cleaning fee of NZ 80.00,the car needed a wash as we had done 1600Km and did have the red dirt on it.
This was the first time I have used Point Rouge and it will be the last as I have never ever paid a rental car cleaning fee in any country around the world.
Just beware before you hire.
We too had the same experience as Mr Smith. Appalling that we were charged a cleaning fee, which we weren't told about when we collected the car. They told us it had to be fuelled up but not cleaned on return. Beware when hiring with this Company!
The Freedom package allows you to rent a vehicle for 12 hours, to get to La Tontouta airport, and leave the vehicle there. This package is billed at 4,500 XPF. So why do they advertise their vehicles deceitfully? (Photo taken in the Point Rouge car park at the airport) ...
After having repeatedly compared all the rental companies in Noumea and its surroundings (even the small Pole T.car or LocaGM agencies), I can tell you that red dot is the most interesting. The "advertising vehicle" formula, which is in fact a small car with stickers from a partner company, allows you to travel at a lower cost. Possibility to pick up / drop off the vehicle at La Tontouta. Perfect not to pay 2500F of shuttle / pers
