Pogo's Wine & Spirits Review

Just visited this store and was super pleased with the selection, price and the service. We will definitely be coming back.

Great selection! Best liquor store near Love Field airport! Even some rare spirits available if you need to grab a gift for someone. I was worried that because it is not a megachain that it would have more limited selection but that is not the case. Selection is fantastic and pricing is competitive. I came in right at closing time on saturday night and immediately knew I had made a good decision to try this store. Staff was very friendly.

Impressive selection. Knowledgeable staff. If you need a treat for yourself then look no further. Also a great place for getting a memorable dinner party bottle as well. Support one of the longest running and last standing independently owned fine wine stores in Dallas. This business understands quality and customer service. You cannot go wrong here.

This is a very fine shop. I don't drink wine, but I do like beer and sometimes spirits. Pogo's has a great selection of all of these, and the staff is really friendly and helpful. The cigar selection is also high class! Thank you, Pogo's!

Went in to find a bottle of amaro that I couldn't find anywhere else. They were out of stock, but were super helpful and emailed me a couple days later and said they had a bottle back in stock for me. Entire staff is super nice and everyone seems very knowledgeable. Not the closest liquor store to me, but it is the best.

When picking wine it's best to research to the best of your own ability before making selections. Sometimes, however, you just want to rely on what you hope is a knowledgeable staff to guide you. I've done that twice now here and have ended up disappointed both times with wines whose flavors are starting to fade or spoil. It's almost as if they're instructed to prioritize the movement of old, dicey product over what would be a safer bet for what you desire. Both times I was asking for bang-for-your-buck wines (under $20), so maybe I just didn't merit true consideration.

Anyway, I've become pretty decent at finding my own good buys and will rely on myself more from here on out.

Well, it took a couple of weeks, but I found my wine shop! This is the closest thing in terms of selection to my beloved K&L back home. It's a smallish store, but jam packed with the best of the best from every price point and region. Truly world class. The staff seems extraordinarily knowledgeable for even a high end liquor. Lance led me around around the store and was a delight to listen to describing regions, producers and flavors. Simon is go-to spirits guru and the front end staff were friendly. They have obvious Covid protocol in place, though I would prefer a no touch payment option. Can't wait to go back and see what else I can find.

This is The Spot if you are looking for something hard to find or that is severely allocated. Prices are great for liquors however, they run about 10-15% higher than market rates for their wine selection. That said...the depth of selection makes it worth the premium. How many other wine stores do you find that carry not one but, 3 or more Gigondas? Unheard for wine stores in the south outside of Nola or Charleston.

Called the store to order Texas wine to be sent for a Christmas present. I do not drink wine and did not know what to order. They were most helpful and shipped the box in time for Christmas delivery. I truly appreciated the customer service and will use them again and would recommend them to my friends.

Whenever i need to stop by a liquor store on my way home from work i think of this place first. Great selection and very friendly staff. I live near by so that makes my opinion a little biased but for anyone in the area I would say you should make this a go-to place too.

They don't like to sell wine it would seem... Tried using the website, but it complains there was a problem with the credit card, even though the txt messages come through from the bank showing them successfully authorizing the card multiple times for the full amount. I called to get some help and was told they cannot do anything unless the order is actually placed. When asked if I could place an order over the phone they said that's not possible. Oh well.... sad the current restrictions on wine shipping into TX - which is why stores like that this can hike prices in the protected market. I see there are other reviews stating how terrible the website is.

A great liquor store with an excellently curated selection and bottles you don't find other places. Prices are also fair, running from the same to a few bucks more than the big box stores. Also very willing to stock something you don't have.

Independent stores like Pogo s are a rare find in today s big-box America. If you love wine & spirits and enjoy learning from passionate and knowledgeable salespeople, go see Harris and his team. They have an incredible selection and are always willing to answer questions and/or help you find a new favorite. I wish I could give them a few more stars

So kind! I needed boxes with dividers for moving glasses and they let me have perfect boxes at no charge. Very nice!

I placed online order and later called via phone to confirm that order was ready since my son was going to drive 45 minutes to pick up for me. Once he arrived they tried to raise price and ultimately refused to honor the order that had already been prepaid and confirmed with them via phone.

I communicated with owner and he was more than generous in resolving issue

I don't know what happened to this place, but over the past year they have started to price bourbon above secondary prices just to make more money. I used to shop here often when passing through Dallas from Houston. Kept in close contact with the sales person over the bourbon department for some time, I had been looking for a bourbon that finally came in only to find out they had it priced at $500 a bottle when it normally retails between $120-180 on the highend. I used to refer so many people to this store because of how well they took care of my in the past. It's sad they all they care about now is money and not the customers. Will never shop here again and definitely won't be sending any referrals

I work here, after spending 28 years honing my craft in the wine business, I am proud to call this place home.

I m always so impressed with the selection at Pogo s. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful- but not overbearing. Although they have some ~very~ high end items, they really listen to how much you want to spend, and I never feel scrutinized when my budget isn t high. From liquor, to wine, to beer and everything in between, chances are, they carry it. I am willing to spend a little more money here because of the quality, ambience, helpful staff, and incredible selection.

Dishonest sellers reneged on sale of wine. Do not buy from them online, period.

This place has a great selection but is very expensive.

I have ordered from Pogo's for a number of years for my boss on a personal level, as well as for countless corporate events (dinners, parties, etc.) I am always impressed by the terrific customer service I receive from the employees here. They don't just want to sell you a great bottle of wine or liquor--they really want you to enjoy the experience. They're so knowledgeable! They have a massive selection and are always respectful of my budget (runs the gamut depending on the circumstances), which I really appreciate--especially on the business side. Even yesterday, I had to pick up an order of six bottles and I had my daughter with me. One of the employees didn't hesitate to carry the box out to the car for me so I didn't have a hassle. They will always be my go-to place in Dallas for the best wines.

Pogo's has a great selection of everyone's favorite wines as well as great and esoteric wines. The friendly staff serves you with intelligence and knowledge. They are service oriented and will find what you want. They can help with party and cellar planning, help match food and wine, and will deliver. Special tastings and dinners are planned. The selection of beers, spirits, and wine glasses and accoutrement is also exceptional.
