Love Pocono Raceway! Hubby & I go twice a year, every year!!! There's plenty to see & do here! Great fun for the whole family, from Bar-B-Que Tailgating, Meeting new fans & friends, live music, partying, Racing, & kid-friendly activities as well. There's so much to do there, too numerous to list!!! #trickytriangle. #whatturn4. Love it here! Awesome weekender trip

This is my first time going to a NASCAR race and this is definitely a nice track to see it at. The event staff have been nothing but pleasant to deal with and extremely helpful.
Great place for NASCAR...definitely go for infield camping!!!
We always visit in June for NASCARs first race at the tricky triangle. We enjoy are time here, lots to see and do before the race. The only draw back are the prices for refreshments and food being high.
Wing fest last year had more vendors with wings lines were not organize and security just watched instead if guiding the lines

I've been to about 1/2 the tracks that host Sprint Cup races and Pocono is, without reservation, the worst track I've ever been to. Let's list the reasons...
1) Traffic Control. Non-existent. Most race venues use state or local police to handle traffic flow. Not Pocono. They've got volunteers (or maybe just people that put on an orange vest and wandered into the area) that randomly close lanes, reverse traffic flow, etc. Invariably, it's done in the wrong direction or at the wrong time. A trained monkey could do a better job.
2) On the topic of traffic flow.... once you wind your way through the maze of closures, you think "hey, I've almost made it". Wrong. You then get to run into the local fire departments setting up roadblocks to have their "drop money in the boot" fundraising. Yeah, I'm feeling real charitable after having another 30-45 minutes of delay added onto the traffic. Wonderful idea, guys.
3) To complete the trifecta, parking. No organization at all. The extent of parking control is to funnel you into one of the entrances, then it's like a toddler's Easter Egg hunt as cars sprint off in various directions to park. The net result is to have about 10 cars occupy space that could fit 30 if there were attendants.
OK, we're in the facility. Home free, right? Nope.
4) Ticket Booths. Admittedly, you should already have paper or print at home tickets. But, on the off chance that you chose Will Call, or need to buy tickets, you will face a staggering array of 3, maybe 4 open windows at the ticket booth. Think that might cause a bottleneck?
5) Seating / Sight Lines. Pocono is a large track, and the triangular layout serves to put the backstretch even further from the grandstands than normal. On average, you'll be able to clearly see a car for about 5 seconds as it zooms past the start finish line. Once it gets into turn 1, gone. With high powered binoculars, you can maybe make out *some* of the tunnel turn. By the way, all this applies if you are in the "good" seats, higher up. Closer to the track, it's even worse.
6) I've not personally experienced this (because I learned at a young age not to throw good money after bad and haven't been back) but Pocono has the unique distinction of having the most draconian re-entry policy of any Sprint Cup track. At EVERY OTHER TRACK you can reenter the seating area with a hand stamp and a ticket. At Pocono, due to "security reasons", you can't do that. Once you are in, you stay in. If you have to leave to get something in your car or for any other reason, then tough. Buy a new ticket. You're not fooling anyone with the "security" nonsense. It's plainly a way to drive concession sales, since you are barring folks from the normal tailgating procedures that make NASCAR uniquely fun.
7) General Facilities. Pocono prides itself on having the longest bathroom around. Seriously, it's written all over the walls. Along with graffiti, dirt, filth, and comatose bathroom attendants. The experience at Pocono makes urinating in a trough (the standard at other tracks) seem like a 5 star hotel.
Many moons ago, Pocono was quaint. Doc and his immediate family made Pocono a unique experience, warts and all. The poor guy must be rolling over in his grave, because his successors have driven the place into the ground. Back in the 80's when I first started attending races there, I looked forward to Pocono. Even back then, while many tracks were starting to get commercialized, Pocono was a breath of fresh air. Now, it's a unique brew of the bad parts of commercial greed and the bad parts of an aging facilty. NASCAR needs to put this dumpster fire of a racetrack out of it's misery, and move the races elsewhere.
Absolutely the best place to be. Family friendly and the atmosphere is unique to NASCAR fans.
My friend and I were at the playground babysitting a friend's kid. 2 undercover police officers approached to be sure we knew the the kid and were of age to be drinking. Great security!

Good track if you like NASCAR racing. I prefer road circuits like Watkins Glen, but this is much closer. It's fairly easy access from Route 80. There isn't much of a town around the track so plan on bringing what you need or driving a good bit to get to it, or to some decent restaurants.
First time there and had a great time. Lots of things to do and employees are very helpful

Always wonderful to see the races there if you've never been make sure you use ear plugs it is wonderfully loud
200 laps on race day. You can actually see the cars during the whole race. They didn't have really any vendors selling food or anything just vendors from IndyCar selling souvenirs. They had a dining facility that sold shrimp, fish, hamburgers chicken sandwiches hot dogs salads and beer. Before and On Race days you can camp in the area and they have very clean bathrooms.

Been comming here for 16 years on the green bus with my friend fritz to the infield. Just love this place. Seen many great improvements .been to othet tracks on the NASCAR circuit and none like Pocono. I,ll keep coming
I had a wonderful, magical experience here because I was attending the Night Lights lantern festival. The grounds were easy to reach and well suited for the event. The atmosphere and environment made for a perfect setting to watch our lanterns light up the sky.
Went there for Indy car practice/qualifying. Pit passes are a must! Never tight I could get so up close with the drivers and cars!
Will only go if I get free tickets. Isn't worth paying for. Cannot see 2/3 of the race.

The track is perfect can suit to all kinds of racing very fun and friendly staff
First tri-oval raceway I've been. Compared to the other tracks I've been to it's a bit run down but but the track itself was recently paved when I went. If you ever have an opportunity to walk a NASCAR track I recommend it. It's unbelievable how banked the track is. Nonetheless, you get great views around the whole track from the grandstands. And for non-NASCAR races, the infield options make it a little more interesting.
Pocono raceway is always first class. Nascar on the other hand continues to disappoint stop with the regulations and aero packages and let the teams race. We want to see passing and driver skill winning races
Been going for 15 years, we love it and now our kids are Pocono fans as well!
I have been coming here for many years now to watch nascar races. It's a great track with a good layout. I have only stayed in the infield and only watched from there as well. It's difficult to see all the track, but it's great being able to sit right at turn 1 and see all the racing action. The infield entertainment has toned down over the years but they so seem to make an effort to do something besides get drunk.

We could not have been more impressed by the free tour that they have at the Pocono Raceway. Almost an hour long we get to go out on the track check out the finish line and learn about all the different things that go on at the Pocono Raceway year-round. I'm not even a Nascar fan in the slightest sense but I had a good time at the tour.
Been here about 8-10 times now for track days on the full course. A lot of high speed areas and the banks are a lot of fun to drive on. The flangers are always good even when the other drivers are lacking in skill. Facilities and pits are always clean as well.
It is truly a thrill to just simply be on the grounds.
Over 400 bikes on the track at the same time. Great day.

Had an amazing, magical time launching the #nightlights lanterns!!!! Lancaster fire dancers were there and had an awesome fire show. Food trucks. Smore kits. Fire pits. Definitely coming back next year and were driving from JC NJ. BYE PA
