After seeing these reviews, I can see I'm not alone. This place has very bad customer service. The front desk isn't very friendly. My doctor, Lisa Young was very anxious and quick to prescribe a script and send me out the door. She didn't listen to my concerns or take the context of my situation into account, which is very important in psychiatry. I would not recommend this place.

I would not recommend this place for anyone's medical care. The staff was very rude, and my doctor Lisa was very unprofessional. She was argumentative and did not treat me as a patient. If you value your health I recommend going elsewhere.
Was here to pick up a script for my fiance, and talked to the receptionists for about 30 seconds. I needed help actually finding the office which was the reason for my call, and was talked to like I was an absolute idiot. Walked in to pick up the script right after I hung up, was not greeted, so I apologized for being clueless, and was not met with a single word. Absolutely terrible. Just terrible. 30 seconds in that office will make you never want to come back. Doctors are fine, the receptionists are just awful enough to ruin the entire office. Honestly, how do those women have jobs?
Also, about 3 months ago when I was new to the area I had scheduled an appointment at Bryan West Psychiatric and had gotten lost and wound up in Plaza West. I walked in and apologized for being late for my appointment, was told too bad, I was 8 minutes late. Then I asked if I could reschedule with my doctor. They then stated the doctor doesnt even work for this office, and asked why I was even there. I then realized this was Plaza West and asked for directions to Bryan. They did not give me directions, but made sure I felt less than human. Great experience if you were looking for a psychiatrist office to expose you to some CBT for your new found social anxiety!
If you're looking for a psychiatrist in the area, please go to Bryan West Psychiatry, it's even in the same hospital! Everyone at Bryan is so kind and they make you feel welcome!
Terrible... Obviously using people as lab rats for their psych unit studies, receptionist rude not only that a referral from a DR & or psychologist was a bad referral for not being able to be more than 5 minutes late. Tell what is that psychiatrist going to do with the remainder of the 30 -45 minuites.. What is 15. Minutes Late with no leniency! No
Today was the first time I've ever been to a psychologist/Mental health service provider ever. I have never felt more comfortable talking to a stranger about my issues. Wanted to say thank you to the ladies at front at the desk at check-in and Nathan Wagner. You helped me in so many ways and it was just my first visit. I can't wait for my next appointment!! You made a world of difference! THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!
Personally I don't think it's a Provider problem at Plaza West...personally it's the office manager and front office works in general who are clueless, uncaring, act put out, RUDE and are not organized. Overall the huge problem personally is lack of communication and unorganized that actually interferes with treatment.
Remember this is a psychiatrist office that also takes medicine refills, when people can not get the meds they want ,when they want , the office staff must be stern, that is why clients and people get upset. As far as rating the service and office staff, they have ALWAYS been kind and respectful to my needs and concerns. Office staff do the very best they can to make everyone happy. Love this place. 5 stars still isn't enough. Keep up the great work. And Thank you
Dr Paden was my boys Dr for the past 25 yrs. I wouldn't have taken them to any other Dr!!! On the rare occasions that they saw another Dr we always requested to be. transferred back to Dr Paden. He was my boys favorite Dr as well as mine!!!
I m extremely happy seeing Lisa, and won t hesitate to recommend her to anyone. She s patient and truly cares about helping get me through my issues. She s a great listener!
The office staff/manager are rude and unhelpful. If they make a mistake, they blame it on the person making the appointment. Hope you aren t traveling a distance if you make an appointment as they may not have it in the books not see a problem with not having the appointment scheduled appropriately. Customer service definitely lacking.
I don't have a problem with the Provider care. What I have a problem with is how incompetent and rude the staff are! The manager is argumentative and just flat out unprofessional. I've changed providers simply because of how much stress I go through when I have to deal with the staff. Not worth it
I really like Lisa, she is quick, precise and very knowledgeable.
Her front desk staff however are not. I hate calling to make any kind of change with them. It honestly feels like a bad SNL skit. They're very condescending even for receptionists. Ironic since they work for the mental health field...
I received treatment from Dr Steven Padden for over 3yrs before I had to relocate to AZ to take care of my nana. Since I have moved back to Lincoln I have tried to get him back! Unfortunately he has been full & unable to take on any new patients. He, along with all of the staff at Plaza West were always caring, considerate, helpful and in my experience had gone above and beyond to ensure I always received excellent treatment! Thank you, Dr Padden and Plaza West staff for your excellent care!!! I hope to one day, when a opening becomes available, to be a a patient there once again!!!
The receptionists Bev and Michelle are always very friendly and willing to help out in any way! Always willing to reschedule when needed or answer any questions I have. Thanks for always being so friendly! My counselor and psychiatrist are the best!
I have had the same doctor for 9 years He retired from one office and went to PLAZA WEST, MY doctor has always been nice and very professional. But when i got to the front desk and interacting with staff it blew me away.
I have never delt with a more polite, respectfull and plesant bunch of people.
I am happy with the level of care I received from my provider. Warm hearted, genuine empathy, and overall pleasant. I was a patient for well over two years.
The bad part about this clinic is its staff.
They are rude. Un-empathetic. Unprofessional. They lack basic humanity. Jen in particular is a terrible human being. She speaks with an arrogant tone that is not welcoming. This is a psychiatric office! The patrons have mental issues. The last thing we need is somebody adding to our anxiety.
Ladies, please do yourselves a favor and enroll in customer service courses provided at SCC, Doane, Wesleyan. You all need refreshers.
This is the best office!!! As a former employee, I can now give you all a little guide on how to get through this process with ease so you don t end up disappointed. 1. First and foremost, don t lie. 2. If you are looking for easy drugs, you came to the wrong place. Turn around now and call the next office. 3. Don t ask for your medication 8 weeks too early. 7 days early is the MAX. 4. If your cat eats your medication/drops them in the toilet/meets a dinosaur and has a party with your meds three days into your refill, consistently. Let s move the meds to a cupboard. You cannot expect people to keep believing your stories when it s happening on repeat. It s not because the receptionists are mean. It s because it is not safe to distribute that much medication. If it happens once or twice in a long period of time, understandable, life happens. 5. This is going to be an extremely hard pill to swallow so hang in there for this one. THE RECEPTIONISTS ARE JUST THE MESSENGER. If you are being told no on your 18th refill in one month. Or you are being told you are too late for your appointment or that you can t be seen in the office anymore- they did not decide to go personally attack you. No. YOUR doctor has said no to seeing you. YOUR doctor has said no to your 18th refill in the month. They are just the lucky golden winners of having to tell you the bad news. Which brings me to number 5 6. Another crazy one. They never EVER would tell someone too bad if you were too late for your appointment. They don t like telling you that you are too late as much as you don t like hearing it. But YOUR DOCTORS have set a strict time policy that we HAVE to respect. The receptionists did not make up that rule. If you NEED to get your meds. If you NEED to be seen. Set an alarm. Get to your appointment. Of course unfortunate circumstances can happen but they don t have a red carpet to roll out for you because you overslept for your 4 pm appointment for the 7th time in a row. Again, if it happens now and again, the receptionists are always very understanding and willing to get you rescheduled as soon as possible. 7. This office isn t Wal-Mart or Burger King, it isn t your way . You re not going to come in screaming at the receptionists for something they did not do or had control over and get your demands met. If you continue to attack people at the front you will get kicked out by security, asked to leave because you are being disruptful and probably fired as a patient. Again, not because the receptionists are mean but because that is creating an unsafe environment for the patients in the lobby. 8. When you have one experience with one receptionist, please do not say the receptionists are awful you dealt with one.... quite an assumption there, captain. 9. Basically just be a good person, be honest about your situation, understand that if you are more than 5 minutes late your doctor is making the receptionists reschedule you, the receptionists aren t being mean, they are just doing their jobs. 10. To summarize, say it with me the receptionists are only the messenger If you have an issue with the time policy or not getting your extra refills, talk to your doctor at an appointment because it s them who make the decision and it s them that can change their minds.
** The women that work at this office deal with an extreme amount of emotions from patients all day. They get screamed at for things they didn t do, they fight with your pharmacies to get you your medications, they fight with your insurance companies and spend days getting them to approve you for the medication as an exception. They genuinely care about you and your situation and want to help you as much as they can.
***to the last reviewer; How do those women have jobs? They walked in, applied, interviewed and were hired and stay hired because they are an asset to the company and are doing an amazing job. How do you get jobs? A lot of people can t handle the kind of pressure that goes with that job. So hats off to them.
Lisa Young has taken good care of me. the only problem I had, may be On Human / medicare advantages part, the last refill I got on an RX to do with here Humana RX only filled it for a 30 day supply, and they charge me a co pay. because this DR is the only one I got into this with I think there could be an issue with Plaza west on this one with Humana. FYI: all my other RX from another DR for physical needs, have all been for 90 day with no co pay, and the market price for my medicine from Plaza west is listed at about 13.00 this may be an issue with my insurer. otherwise Plaza west has been very good for me. FYI: 13.00 is cheap market price for an RX, even 30 day supply. I am sure Plaza west has been working with my insurance carrier. they work with medicaid for my co pay as with what medicaid pays on.
They rush you and if you are disabled they over charge and tell you Medicare isn't good enough. I'm on benzodiazepines which can cause serious and life threatening withdrawal. They made me go a week without and offered no help I had seizures and experienced horrifying withdrawal and panic. Since 2015 I've had a horrible time getting my refills and they are constantly overcharging you for things. If you are not a mainstream person with great insurance they can't even bother to get your name right. They make you feel like a freak because your sick. Office staff is horrible with rudeness and seems they are incapable of getting messages to doctors or your pharmacy.
