What energy, what helpfulness, what roaring intent that encourages the most tepid of souls to reach for their dreams. I came in, a stranger to get a couple books and left with more books than anticipated, discovered a piano for my Songwriting, was given a list of local eateries for the best experience, and find out one of my childhood inspirations, Frederick Douglass, is interred nearby.
After regaining my strengths at a locally recommended eatery I shall be visiting the grave of the mighty Frederick Douglass whose 4th of July speech was my first lesson in memorization, lyrical recitation, and public performance at the tender age of four or five.
Twenty-five years later life isn't so simple anymore but the dignity, the encouragement, the hope that Papa Douglass inspired... It still lifts me in a sullen world where happiness is a heron fast fleeting.
