Pinski Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery Review

Had a Dermasweep treatment and it was a relaxing way to cleanse my skin after a rough summer in the sun. The staff is great (and hot). Highly recommended! Ask for Kayla.

Why am I giving this clinic one star? Well I saw Dr. Pinski once this year and he diagnosed me "correctly" for a staph infection. He recommended I take only one week's worth of antibiotics and I left with some samples of high grade gel antibiotic to apply inside my nose. I had developed a combination of a strong allergic reaction and an inflammation or (bump) growing right next to one of my nose piercings. I was not concerned because this happens to me once ever three years since I do have allergies and it's allergy season. I had to wait in excess of 45 minutes to be seen by him and the problem seemed to be resolved but came back full force last week so I saw a different doctor this time a Dr. Zulenski I believe since Dr. Pinski was away on vacation. Dr. (Z) was awful because instead of listening to my simple suggestion of prescribing more antibiotics and a simple shot of cortisone to help the inflammation go down he yelled and admonished me and said NO doctor wants to be advised by their patients on how to treat them. Sorry but since I have more experience than he does on piercings YOU are never as in ever supposed to simply swap out and remove your nose jewelry immediately because this will create more problems. You are simply supposed to administer a small cortisone shot and thank god I was seen immediately by another dermatologist later that day at a clinic near the the water tower place because she had no issues listening to me following my suggestions and my bump went away in a day. This clinic is awful . You sit there in a waiting room without being offered water they let you sit there for 45 minutes to an hour and again yes again I waited for practically a full hour and I was yelled at did not receive a good diagnosis and left with two free sample of Acanya which I did not use because it treats acne and I don't have acne I had a tiny bump growing near my piercing. If you wear jewelry and have issues with your piercing I do not recommend you bother coming to this dermatology clinic. You will end up waiting forever and you will be forced to pay for a visit leaving without proper care.

Very efficient and friendly front office with Brittney at check-in and Marjorie at check out -- both have always been very professional, pleasant and helpful. Very thorough and comprehensive history / followup by Ashley before being seen by Dr. Pinski. Dr. Pinski has provided me with outstanding dermatological care over the years -- he is always very pleasant, never rushes and always allows me ample time to ask questions.

I contacted Pinski and inquired if they do cosmetic surgery under the eye to tighten the area under my eye, since i was seeing some loss skin that was starting to show up on camera as looking like a black eye. They stated they did to surgery. I had to put down an deposit to come in and within 2 minutes of seeing the doctor, i was told they do not do any surgery, but can use filler and botox. Had i not put down a deposit, i would have thanked them for their time and left, but the $160. was not refundable. I had never had filler and decided to try, but was left with what i am calling "speed bumps" under my eyes. I contacted them 2 weeks post filler and I was told that the results were due to my "not following full recommendations" and also getting botox. I was charged $500 for bad filler and an over expensive eye cream that did not do much. I am now having to wait for the filler to wear off. Not happy.

I have been a patient of this office for several years. Overall, I am happy with the physician's recommendations, staff and overall efficiency. That being said, I was very upset when I called to cancel my appointment two hours before. The reason for my cancellation was because my daughter (who has been attending school in-person during the pandemic) was feeling unwell and I had to go and pick her up from school. I was told by the receptionist that due to the cancellation less than 24 hours, I was going to be charged $50. During these unprecedented times and the circumstance, it is not acceptable for the office to charge patients for a cancelled appointment. I am a health care provider myself and I would never want to lose a patient with such a policy.

Dr. Pinsky and his staff run a great practice. They offer great care, explain the treatments and procedures and are easy to talk to. Appointments are easy to schedule and the staff are all helpful.

I do not have enough words to express my gratitude to Dr. Pinski and his staff. I have been a patient of Dr. Pinski's for years and trusted his guidance through various dermatology related issues. He has always been kind, professional, and knowledgeable. Most recently (the last 3 months) I have undergone XTRAC laser treatment for vitiligo. Let me preface this with saying that this laser is not easy to use, and requires a highly trained technician to administer. I have been working with Mari De La Roca, a medical laser tech, and she is absolutely incredible. She is caring, compassionate, and meticulous. She's also a rockstar with this laser because once your color comes back, you then return to fill in smaller areas that are missing. It's truly art. With Dr. Pinski and Mari's help, I can say that I have close to 80% of my color back... and I'm still in treatment and thus expecting more color to resurface! The color has repigmented on my face and hands, and I am ecstatic with the results. I look like me again, and would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Thank you both from the bottom of my heart! You have made a world of a difference in my life.

P.S. The front desk and other staff members are also really nice and helpful. Given everything going on with COVID, they've been so great about checking me in quickly and safely. They always have something nice to say too. Shout out to them as well!

Save yourself time and frustration and find a more professional office. They turn off their phones before their last appointment slot is scheduled and the physicians are more interested in leaving early rather than taking care of patients. Lazy and unprofessional.

I've been seeing Dr Pinsky for years and would never think of letting anybody else do any procedures on me other than him. I think he's the best! He does what's good for you and doesn't push you into doing more than you want to do. And he's had enough experience and education to know what works. Any friends or clients I've referred to him have all been extremely happy as well. The staff are professional, friendly and efficient. It's always a pleasant experience to see him and know that you come out looking better and feeling better!

I started seeing Dr. Kevin Pinski about 23 years ago, right before my wedding. I wanted to do a series of microdermabrasion treatments to look my best for the big day. They introduced me to TNS products then and I've been using them ever since, which I believe has provided great preventative care as my skin began to age. I've been seeing Dr. Pinski ever since as well, at least twice a year, and I credit him with keeping my skin looking it's very best, despite having spent my teen years baking in in the sun. Recently, Dr. Pinski suggested I meet with Kayla Mannausa, a Licensed Esthetician on his team, for a free Visia skin analysis. Kayla is amazing; she spent time talking to me about different procedures to achieve the results I was looking for. She's always helpful, never pushy, and beyond accommodating; on several occasions, she has offered to come in early or stay a little late to accommodate my schedule. Most importantly, she is a very talented esthetician who provides safe and effective treatments that have greatly improved the texture and appearance of my skin. I get compliments all the time on how great my skin looks.

Dr. Pinski has a phenomenal team overall. They are always professional, kind, and do their best to meet the needs of all the patients who visit the office. I couldn't recommend them more highly. -- Maxine

I saw Kayla and had a wonderful experience. She took the time to discuss my current skin regimen, any medications I was taking, and environmental factors that may be affecting my skin. The only reason I am not giving this provider a one star review is the positive and respectful customer service I received when I spoke up about my complaints.

Today, I had to wait an hour to see a clinician. I was told that the practice was delayed because of one new patient who brought up more issues than were expected and that the practice wanted to make sure to fully address every patient's needs completely. Here is my point of contention, there is a line between serving your patients as comprehensively as possible and respecting the time of other patients waiting to be seen by the provider. Additionally, based on my research of reviews on yelp, long wait times is an issue that previous customers have raised as a negative aspect of dealing with this provider. Despite all the apologies, Making a patient wait an hour to see a provider is unacceptable, everyone's time is very valuable. On the plus side, the PA I saw was very cordial, comprehensive, and caring. Please take this opportunity to take a hard look at your processes in light of other negative reviews.

BEST DERMATOLOGIST IN THE CHICAGO AREA! Dr. Kevin Pinski is a top cosmetic dermatologist. He performed laser hair removal on me, and after a few treatments, the unwanted hair has not returned. He is also a cosmetic surgeon who performs myriad services. He did a liposuction procedure for one of my friends and reduced his love handles greatly. Dr. Pinski also does Juvederm, and Botox and is really great at every procedure I have seen. I highly recommend anyone looking for a cosmetic surgeon, or cosmetic dermatologist, to use Dr. Kevin Pinski.

The staff was very friendly, straightforward, and answered all my questions. I was accommodated even with a glitch in their system that cancelled my appointment. The only criticism I have is I was told I would receive an email outlining the recommendations/costs associated with what I discussed with Dr Pinsky. I never received that email so I went into my treatment without that information to further think through what I wanted to do.

Dr Sulewski is an excellent doctor and did a thorough job on removing every trace of my cancer. He and the nursing staff were knowledgeable, professional and very caring. In addition, the rest of the staff went the extra mike by providing snacks to help us through the lengthy procedure.

Go ask Pinski, I think he ll know. He always knows. Why I don t see him before I charge off chasing Jane Fonda s success with her team, I do not know!

Pinski always knows everything. That s why I end up in his chair after a mistake - of mine. Big time!

Now I m going to see Dr. Pinski first, and, if Pinski says no , then let it be NO. Not show up whimpering because I tried something in L.A. or New York because gosh, Nichole Kidman sits in the same chair as me. Why did it work for her and not for me? Because these women have established their aesthetic practices with a team that knows their faces and Kevin Pinsk by now knows mine.

As I no longer reside in Chicago but visit, I ve had too many opportunities to dabble with Dermatologist here and there. Is it a good idea? It s not. Don t do it.
I invariably find myself sitting in Dr. Pinsk s lovely office with his magical view of Millennium Park. He walks into the room like an angel who has come to make me all right again. He is there to serve, there is practically a white aura that surrounds his kind head.
I always start off the conversation the same way,
Well, I was in L.A. or I was in NYC and I went to a dermatologist or plastic surgeon and I wanted to try . .
Dr. Pinski never ever scowls at me. He is like the Buddha. He never says, Wtf did you do now ? I don t think he even thinks it. His eyes scan the issue. He stands back, turns my head from side to side, steps back and gives me his assessment. And he is fast. He knows what went wrong and has conservative suggestions about how to repair the too aggressive injectables, or the hideous Keloids.
God I love him! I ve known he and his father since I was a teenager. Originally his father was my Mother s dermatologist, and then she went to Dr. Kevin.
But oh no, I dabbled here and there, because I talked to someone who said that doctor so-and-so is doing a very good job with And, I ll be darned if half the time I don t end up back in Chicago getting Dr. Pinski to fix it!

The last time I went to the same doctor that I heard Nichole Kidman uses. I felt like a movie star. He was very nice, they hug a lot in L.A. Supposedly he could help my aging, sinking eyes with filler. And, he teaches all around the U. S. too! Frankly, he made a mess. He used way too much.
With the proper amount of an injection of some solution, Dr. Pinski was able to remove the lump that had formed under my left eye. Oh, thank you again and again Dr. Pinski!

I ve made a promise to myself. In fact I am so serious about this promise I have my calendar remind me of it every 4 months. It says, Go ask Pinski, I think he ll know . This reminds me that if I want to play with my face, I m doing it in Chicago with Dr. Pinski.

I would not recommend Pinski Dermatology to anyone. Two years ago they quoted me on a laser treatment. They did not bill me until the second session and when they did, they attempted to charge me 6x what my initial quote was. When I explained the mistake to them they were initially very apologetic and said they would take care of the costs for me. Shortly after they started billing me for half the cost of the treatments I did not receive. When I called to speak to the office manager, no one returned my call. They are complete con artists. Be careful.

Dr Sulewski assured me that a procedure would be covered by my insurance, but it was not. It was also much less effective than he claimed. The clinic also constantly changes rules to squeeze more money from you. Stay away.

Amazing office & people! I have been seeing Renata at Pinski Dermatology for annual body scans due to my fair skin and she has been great in helping prevent skin damage and treating any potential problem areas. She also has treated me for some acne areas with topical products which were all covered in full by my insurance and made sure everything would be affordable for me prior to prescribing.

In addition to Renata, I have started to see Dr Pinski for some pre-wedding skin maintenance and absolutely love him! He made me feel extremely welcome and is comforting when talking about areas of improvement and truly wants you to feel comfortable in your skin and have you looking your best. I didn't feel he was pushy in selling anything and actually feel the opposite as I mentioned hearing of a new product and he advised against it, basically saying he didn't think I would benefit greatly from it.

The head nurse was also wonderfully friendly and super helpful with any pre & post treatment questions. I can't wait to have the glowing skin I want for my big day! I am 100% confident Dr. Pinski will deliver the best results in the biz. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a new skin care professional!

I was treated with a simple wart and dermatologist charged to my insurance $494, they claimed it was a surgery because "Destruction Benign Lesion". which is the code. No other dermatologist has charged that to simple "5 seconds spray", if you have a high deductible, you will be charge out of the pocket around $200 every single appointment. A wart takes around 6-10 times. I do not want to see if they actually cut it out, that was a high surgery!
I called with the billing guy and he was very rude, he said "I can charge a million buck if we want! the insurance pay $200 and you the rest!"
It seems that they are looking a way to charge the most on you. Obviously for me, this first appointment was useless, so $200 going to trash.
If you really want to take care of your finance, go somewhere else, don't trust on this place.

Dr Pinski is always cheerful and tends to run on time. I've worked with him on Rosacea treatments and I've seen real improvement and fewer side effects than my prior treatments.

If I could give them 10 stars I would. I love Dr. Pinski and the whole staff. The office is clean, great music, and great millennium park views! I never have to wait very long and they are super accommodating to my low pain tolerance. I've had awful side effects and issues with certain treatments at other derms, and Dr. Pinski made it painless and have had no side effects like prior derms I've been to. He also doesn't push products or up-sell like a lot of places. I've asked for more things and he has told me no, which shows he cares and isn't just trying to get your money. I always feel very well taken care of and literally have zero complaints. I know they have a million patients but make me feel like I'm part of the family!

Avoid. Made an appointment over the phone and when I showed up they acknowledged there was a mistake by a staff member and they had no room for me. One of the staff members was not friendly and implied I was making up the appointment to sneak in. Very unprofessional

I have skin problems due to sun exposure. Glad I have them on my side as some were cancer and pre-cancerous. They were removed, almost painlessly.

Dr. Sulewski is the ultimate doctor as he is extremely knowledgeable and skillful along with being very caring and personable. Patience defines him; he answers any and all questions

My experience here was wonderful. I was looking for a dermatologist in the city and I definitely made the right choice. Dr. Sulewski was on time, courteous and extremely professional. He truly took the time to get to know me and my concerns and was diligent in explaining the solution and next steps. All of the office staff were extremely courteous as well. Best part is, they will really work with you to find an appointment that works with your schedule with a short wait period to get in. Dr. Sulewski will definitely be my dermatologist moving forward.

Dr Pinski and his staff are always professional, warm, and welcoming. I see them for an annual body scan and acne check. It can be busy at times at the office, but the staff and doctors are very attentive. They have excellent products as well that have been transformative for the health of my skin.

Very good entry for virus control procedures felt comfortable the entire time plus great care from assistants and physician

I am extremely disappointed with the service we have received at the Bourbonnais location. While there was no improvement and the treatment did not work, we were told to keep coming back and no alternative treatment was offered. We ended up going to a different doctor that took the time to look into the issue and recommended an alternative treatment that actually worked. Got an additional bill from this office 16 months later for the same visit! When I called and asked about it, the office was not able to justify, keep repeating that the bill still needs to be payed, and hang up the phone. Definitely feel that I am being forced to pay for a visit leaving without proper care.

Dr. Pinski is professional, skilled, and knowledgeable. Dr. Sulewski as well. Kayla customizes my microdermabrasion treatments to accomadate my sensitive skin. Friendly, efficient staff.

Not only is the staff extremely rude but you will wait over an hour every time just to see the Drs who will push every medication on you and only spend 5 minutes with you. I'm not sure what the wait is when they barely even listen to your needs. Not worth your time or money. Completely unprofessional.

I recently visited Dr. Pinski's office and had a great experience
from start to finish. I was greeted with a smile by every person once
I walked in the door. This was a pleasant surprise as I've dealt with
snooty staff before at medspas. Tiffany, Dr Pinski's assistant was
very helpful, and took notes of all of Dr Pinski's recommendations
during my exam. I thought Dr Pinski had great bedside manner. He
addressed all of my concerns thoroughly and educated me on the latest
technologies that I should consider. He also looked through my current
products and told me what was a worthwhile investment and what wasn't.
I appreciated that he was on time, and didn't make me feel rushed at
all. Dr Pinski seemed like he truly cared about my well being. When I
walked out of the exam room I was given a print out with all of the
recommendations of products and order in which they should be applied.
I then sat down with Jessica, their cosmetic consultant. She reviewed
the products and the benefits of each specific ingredient. I really
appreciated this because there are such a vast range of products out
there. She was well versed in everything that was recommended and
helped me to purchase the necessities to start. She also included a
few samples which I am eager to try. When i got home, i did my
recommended routine for the first time and must say my skin feels
hydrated and refreshed. I can't wait to see how the products work over
the coming weeks. If you are needing a checkup, or just looking to
better your skin, I urge you to check out this practice, you won't be
disappointed! It was likely the best doctor experience I've ever had.
