Added some peanut butter glaze to the berry pie & returned to childhood! Delicious!!
Went late in the evening low pie selection but will return to give another try
Great pie, though they had a limited selection when I visited.
Cute little ranch on side of road. What got me there? Signs leading to it saying Fresh Pies!!! Had to stop. They have jams, just picked veggies, merchandise and of course pies. Pies are good not to sweet but good. The jam I purchased was tangy and very seedy. Was good but probably wouldn't purchase again.
Cute place. Nice little stop while driving CA1. But its expensive for a small slice of pie.
You stop here for the pie (delicious) and go away with dill, rosemary, tomatoes and whatever is on season. And it's worth the stop.
Maybe they've improved their pies since the last (and only) time I bought one. At first I thought it was a joke .a pie made by a 3 year old? Dough-y crust, lack of filling.
Came here on a busy Labor Day weekend plenty of parking. The woman working the register was very helpful as well is super excited to interact with customers. Great to see that. The pie was good a nice homemade crust. I'd suggest them changing the name to pie barn though. Haha. Definitely one of those cute places to stop along the road.
This little store is mostly just a gift shop, though - their pies are quite expensive, and probably not worth the cost. Though they are tasty, they're not particularly special by comparison to a grocery store, and it seems like every time I visit they're cold and hard - they don't heat them up or anything.
Pie Ranch is a stop off along the scenic highway 1. They do offer small, individual artisan pies in two flavors and larger whole pies in a refrigerated case plus some organic produce and canned sundries. Unfortunately, the selection was pretty slim pickings on a busy Saturday afternoon. The kids did have fun riding the toy tractor around and the place is pet friendly, but with nowhere really to sit and eat, we quickly moved on.
They offer 10% off for cyclists! I purchased a shortbread cookie and a head of bok choy. Both were delicious!!
Lovely roadside stop in Pescadero! My husband and I had the Honey Nut Pie and it was fresh and delicious. The staff is thoughtful and knowledgeable. We were the first there when it opened and in a matter of minutes the place was full of visitors. We could see it's a local favorite on California 1. Highly recommended!
A cool place for a wedding - haven't tried the pie. Friendly staff as well.
Pie (arguably the most important reason to visit) is always delicious, but I also love the other seasonal farm stand goods offered. I enjoy strolling to "the lower slice" (back growing fields and working areas) to see everything growing so beautifully and to peek at the greenhouses to see what's coming in next season. The farm also has a very impressive native plant garden, complete with informational signage including Native American plant names and some exploration of traditional plant usage.
Okay Pie, Too Many Flies, Cute Barn, Needs More Inventory
They are famous for their bread - it is outstanding. But be sure to come in the morning, they run out of it quickly.
The workday, tour, and barn dance every 3rd saturday of the month is totally worth going to! We were potato hilling and weeding the strawberries. Bring lots of water. Bring a pot luck. The pot luck turn out was amazing. The food quality was scrumptuous. Rsvp for the barn dance bc it was pretty packed when we went. There was a "mc" for the barn dance and he walks through the whoke barn on the group dance so even 2 left footers can participate. Tons of fun!
It could be helpful to also bring extra chairs and dishes.
They have barn dancing once a month, which is basically group line/square dancing. Tons of fun. Eat at the Highway One Brewery nearby.
the pies suck, but everyrhing was good especialy the bread
Chill little spot to make a Stop at. Specially if you are feeling like eating a pie which can hit the spot as you make your way up or down the CA highway 1
Wonderful little store full of vegetables and baked goods. A must stop on highway 1.
Great stuff. The ranch is named NOT for Pie but for the shape of the plot (a "pie slice") which causes some confusion. They do, however, usually have Pie. But their strong suit is the vegetables and other produce which are mostly grown at the ranch or sourced from other nearby farms.
They often have produce like:
Local eggs, Kale, beans, wheat flour, strawberries, various lettuces.
They also will have a selection of pies and tarts, coffee, and various jarred products (pickles, etc).
They take Credit Cards. Definitely worth a stop if you're driving by.
This place is a dream. My friend and I worked remotely one day and drove the coast for a taste of nature and adventure. The Pie Ranch was such a haven. The workers are lovely, the pie (esp. Walnut) was amazing, and they let us walk the property. They've also worked with the original native people, who used to live on the land, to pay respect to the former tenants. So lovely.
Awesome operation. Had 2 gallettes: one tomato and one peach. Pie crust was delicious.
Great idea but the pie was expensive and just not that good.
The walnut and chocolate pies are delicious! The grounds are lovely. Wonderful, low-key place to stop for a picnic. Bathroom accomodations include only porta potties with no handwashing sink, so make sure to bring hand sanitizer.
Walked into an empty barn. There was practically no produce and the two pies looked like they had been sitting there for days. I think I'd rather go to a 7/11.
Nice place but unfortunately by the time we got there they were out of pies. So make sure you go early! Really nice people.
Beautiful place with an awesome mission! Check out their monthly Work Day & Barn Dance for a great time.
Fun little pie shop down on RT1. Great place to stop when out on the bikes making a nice loop with Alice's, Pescadero and back up Bonny Doon through Big Basin.
I wish they would stock up more often on the cuties, as we went there 2x in a couple weeks and the selection of cuties was low (no lemon Olallieberry cuties the 2nd time).
The cold brew coffee from the cooler really compliments their pies.
Motorcyclists be warned, the parking lot is sand and gravel - no issue, just be aware of your kickstand placement and front brake use when entering the lot.
Pie ranch feels like home to me, they have great pies, great coffee, great music,a piano to play and great cheery knowledgeable farm hands. A must visit if you are passing by.
