This place is definetly beauty at its peak. I decided to go here with my family and family friends as a little picnic that's not too far and is a good place for kids and adults both and i absolutely loved it. The views here were so breath taking and the weather was almost so pleasant that we couldn't have asked for a better picnic spot than this. Even the kids loved this place and the water was crystal clear and shiny. Definetly going here on next family vacation

One of the wonders of the country. Pristine waters, untouched forests, and a great weekend getwaway. Biking, kayaking, fishing, hiking, camping, stargazing. Everything you need for family bonding or immersing yourself in nature.

This is an amazing area to visit with incredible views and so many amazing things to see. The best way I found to see it was through a local cruise. Because there is so many large cliffs, getting a good view while hiking is very difficult. That is referring to the cliffs that is. There is so many small caves and bright colors that you will miss without a cruise. There's also a couple water falls that are positioned where you have to view them from the water. Regardless of weather, this area won't disappoint. I still can't believe how clear the water is, truly amazing.

Great views by land or water. Use it as an excuse to get some hiking and excersizing in while enjoying the natural beauty that surrounds us. It's a place to enjoy with friends and family that is more than memorable, it'll make you want to come back for more!

Breathtaking views! Visiting Pictured Rocks by land or water delivers a great adventure. For hiking enthusiast there are miles and miles of hiking trails to enjoy. For kayakers the water is so clear and fresh, and the shoreline provides a completely different perspective of the shoreline. Beaches are beautiful sugar sand. The park has many waterfalls and points of interest. Late in the day, in the last few hours of daylight, is one of the best times for viewing, as the sun lights up the shore and brings out the colors of the layered rock. Remember, if you re on the water that it is Lake Superior and conditions can change in an instant.

This National Lakeshore is gorgeous! Spans a long section of the UP and is worth spending some time hiking through. I only did some moderate hikes, but could've easily spent my whole vacation here.

Pictured Rock Lakeshore on Michigan's upper penins...

Pictured Rock Lakeshore on Michigan's upper peninsula is worth the visit if you are the outdoor type. It's beautiful to be sure but if you plan to spend days there be prepared to hike through the woods, kayak or take boat tours as everything and activity revolves around the water and the cliffs. Not much to do in town except ramble through a few touristy gift shops. Good food is tricky to find so check out the visitor's center and ASK. There is good art to be found if you are into that but of course it's related to the area and there are a couple of galleries that pretty much have only American Indian influence. Be sure to have your picture made with the large sasquatch statue at the ice cream store in downtown Munising. I give Pictured Rocks a five star rating because it is absolutely unique in it's scenic beauty. The water is lovely, the cliffs are amazing and the East Chanel Lighthouse on Grand Island is a sight to behold. There are paintings of it and photo reproductions of it everywhere in the world. Do NOT get off the boat and visit the lighthouse even though it may be tempting because mosquitoes will eat you. Thumbs up!

Such an amazing place! So many places to explore. Is the summer time the north country trail is amazing! Back country camping with sites and views your not going to get anywhere else. In the winter time it gets even better. The water falls and streams turn into magical ice formations that you can climb.

Beautiful nature all around you up here by lake Superior's coast. Between the waterfalls, beaches, cliffs, and campgrounds, you're sure to find some beauty. Many sights are fairly accessible via short walks, but if you're up for something more tough, you can hike the 42 mile trail along the pictured rocks coast. This area is also fun to snowmobile in the winter.

If you are from Michigan then Pictured Rock Lakeshore should be high on your to-do list. The colorful sandstone cliffs can extend up to 200 feet above lake level. There are 42 miles of beautiful hiking along Lake Superior with continuous views of the cliffs. I would recommend hiking during peak color season in the late fall to avoid the heat and flies. Also, there are many waterfalls in the area that you can either hike to or drive to for short day trips.

I've made many a memory here, whenever someone asks me what they should go see when visiting michigan I always include pictures rocks in the top 3. Breath taking views whether you hike the trails and look down or take kayaks by lake and look up, you could spend a lifetime here and still never see all of its beauty

With only two minutes remaining, we stepped foot onto the boat. The lake was calm and the captain was informative. With the sun shining, the passengers got to see the illumination of the various colors caused by the minerals in the soil oxidizing. Great pictures were taken and memories made.

I've waited too long to go here! It is gorgeous! We found pink sand at the end of sandpoint rd (my daughter was ecstatic to find). The views are stunning! There is so much to see in small radius a couple days is not enough time, but if that's all you have take it you wont be disappointed! I can't wait to go back and see more. And I want to do a boat ride or rent kayaks so we can view from the water! This should be on everyone's bucket list!

4 days, 3 night on the North Country Trail. Ranks up there with the AT. Go early or late to avoid flies. Park Ranger Cliff was the most professional enforcement officer I have ever encountered. The sights were incredible. The terrain was moderate in terms of difficulty, (sand).
