I had the WORST experience with this center on my last trip there.
Planned a trip and booked it.
Dive got cancelled, nothing wrong with that. But they knew we were driving from Tulum and they didn't even make an effort of trying to contact us in the morning. Neither we're they very interested in coming up with an alternative plan for us this day.
Bad communication and not very forthcoming.
Lousy experience. They sold me a trip to 2 cenotes, dos ojos and Pit, but after the 1st dive the instructor realized that 2 of the people in the group were not at the level to go to Pit. Of course, it was mentioned before that they had only open water certificates so could not go 30mts deep. So we all had to repeat the same cenote again (different rout, but still). They should consider the level of the group as a whole before setting it up. Made everyone feel bad. Shameful.
Great club to dive in Playa! The team is at the top, as friendly as professional.

Very professional and friendly staff. Pre dive briefings are informative and pertinent. You can leave your gear with them and it will all be ready the next day you're scheduled. Prices are ok. The only downside is getting from the beach to the boat...

. Vests with whale sharks when it was planned without and yet well specified. So 1st lie because it's been like this for ages.
. Diving in cenotes the cameras were prohibited . And the person tells us, they took good care of it !!!
In short apart from these 2 caveats everything else is great

Made 4 days of diving here. Really responsible diving instructors! Diving in cenotes was incredible. I would recommend it to everyone. I also liked that phocea supports sea shepherd.

I did cenotes, was great and fascinating, the guide (Paul) was awesome and very professional , unfortunately I couldn't do more than one day cenotes because I didn't have much time.
I did also diving, my father and my oncle did discover dive, the staff were perfect, they made my family relax and calm before them first dive, and the manager (Freddy) let me go with my father and my oncle for the discover dive.
I recommend that place for sure !

We would like to thank the Phocea team for the wonderful stay we spent at Playa Del Carmen from 07/14 to 07/28.
Indeed, the diving center located in front of the hotel and 100m from the beach, allows us to be immediately on site. The Phocea team has great professionalism and has met our expectations, accommodating and flexible in order to be attentive to our needs. The material provided is of high quality, as is the organization of activities.
We would also like to thank Patricia, our guide, who is an engaging and very dynamic person, whose advice and explanations were beneficial to us! Thanks also to Didier (el jefe) and Damien (the manager) for their responsiveness and the attention they pay to the satisfaction of their customers! Finally we will keep a marked memory of the whale shark outing, as well as the dives and more particularly those of the cenotes. A trip highly recommended!
Diving today, it was great. We were only 2 with 2 instructors (Juan and Milia) who really took their time to explain everything and made our first dive a great memory! We went to beautiful spots full of corals and fish. I recommend without hesitation!

Diving in the cenotes is an incredible experience, but Phocea was far less professional than the experience I had a month ago in the Gilis. The people at the diving center didn't seem to really want to explain the diving sites to me. I had to give up and go with their default locations as they insured me it would be fine. Secondly, the instructors were really there just to have fun diving. One of them gave no pre dive briefings or we had to ask him. When I asked him if I could dive with a light hangover he told me his was worse and he would dive... Overall the dive sites were ok, cenotes were fantastic and my instructor was good for this dive but I wouldn't recommend or go back with Phocea.
A big thank you to the whole team without exception! Eight dives with you (AOW and cenotes) in a very pleasant and professional atmosphere. I will keep only great memories! Thanks again !
Well, except the guide and the boat crew who where friendly the rest is a bad experience.
I planned two dives at Cozumel, during the first one I had an issue and I could not do the second dive.
They charged me a full price for the second dive arguing the I occupied a place on the boat which was almost empty...
When paying by credit card a commission of 4% is applied. No alternative accepted.
Probably one of the worst diving center experience around the world.
Super club in the Yucatan, we were able to discover cenotes in all their forms, but also beautiful dives at sea. Nevertheless the price of the dives is a little high.
