There's a reason they won't tell you puppy prices until they let you meet them. Find yourself a breeder, save thousands of dollars.

I recently purchased a kitten at Petland.

I was lied to by the staff when I inquired as to why she was sneezing before I purchased her. The sales rep said it was nothing, probably just dust. When I took my kitten to the vet the next day I found out she had an upper respiratory infection just like two other kittens they had moved to the back room due to them being ill. The vet was surprised they sold her when she was as sick as she was. I would have purchased my kitten regardless of whether or not she was sick, since by that time I had fallen in love with the little girl. I just wish they had honest staff who could have warned me to ensure I got the kitten to be seen by the vet as soon as possible.

If you in enjoy being lied to, Petland is just the place for you.

This is where I go to get food for our lizard the food is fresh great prices very nice people very friendly service we also picked up one of the best pets we ve ever had Lily are shipoo even though she was priced too high like all the dogs there she is an amazing dog and a great part of our family

We were looking at getting puppies and noticed how disgusting their cages were. Sick and starving animals. Dirty and depressed. The bulldog had a serious right eye infection. We left feeling like crap and did a little research. They get their dogs from puppy mills.

NEVER GET A DOG FROM THSES PEOPLE. NOTHING BUT HEATH PROBLEMS AND OVER PRICED. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I got my puppy Xena here, and have had no issues; she's a wonderful addition to our family. Wide selection of pet supplies, along with a very good selection of aquarium supplies and fish.

Place was clean. Lots of store associates to help. U are able to pet ferrets, hampsters, birds and dogs. It's now expanded and has a lizard section too.

I just bought 2 parakeets and one has an under bite beak so we have to return him

Brennan at the checkout and Mackenzie in the fish department went above and beyond for me. Would 10 out of 10 recomend to a friend. Very kind and helpful while also knowledgeable during our visit.

Shady business tactics. Wouldn't give prices over the phone, had to make an appointment then wouldn't give a price when we got there, put us into a play area with a pup we liked, wouldn't give a price, made my children fall in love, left us playing with pup for 30 minutes, wouldn't give us a price, finally got an answer, $4000 then tried to finance us, left with crying children. Never going back.

We were in town and stopped in to look at the fish and drove back the next day from an hour and 20 minutes away to buy our fish there. The tanks are amazing and immaculate. Great selection. Friendly staff.

It s a fun place to go but I don t love the fact that little kids can mess with the little animals. Last time I went there they had hamsters and a little girl looked like she was squeezing the poor thing, I felt like I was going to have a panic attack. Little kids messing with small animals stresses them out, kinda disappointing.

This place is awful. 6 years ago they sold me a puppy with kennel cough. I spent hundreds on different antibiotics when all I needed to do was let it take it's course. My wife went in a couple months ago looking for another dog because the one I purchased from them 6 years ago doesn't pay attention to my daughter at all and doesn't really like my wife. She's attached to me and almost infatuated with me but not my wife and daughter. My wife ended up leaving with a dog but when she got home she realized that dog and my current dog (yorkie) weren't going to get along so less than 12 hours later she brought the new dog back. They're trying to make us pay $1,000, half of the price of the dog even tho we don't have it and didn't even have it for 24 hours. This is the absolute worst place on the planet to get a dog. The prices are absurd and you better know what you're doing before you make it final. Read all the documents before signing everything or they might take advantage of you like they did my wife.

I ve gotten both my Husky babies from PetLand. The animals are healthy and well cared for. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.

Terrible place to purchase a pet. I bought a chocolate lab that is now three years old with a severe case of hip dysplasia which also caused arthritis. Puppy mill dogs. They will not warranty my dog because I didn t find out about the dysplasia within one year. Buy from a reputable local breeder.

They do not tell you how much to adopted a puppy over the phone so they had us make a appointment to see the puppy after seeing and playing with him we really wanted him then they told us he is $7800 they would not go no lower on the price.

Best pet store in CNY. Puppies and fish are sourced responsibly. Staff is super friendly and most are extremely knowledgeable. If they don't know they get the answer for you. We went in there looking for info on a fish tank back in October and don't regret any purchases we have made. Perfect place for all your aquarium needs. We prefer shelter dogs, however if you prefer single breed dogs, you can feel good about purchasing your puppers here. Customer for life.

Great store with very cute puppies. All of which come from usda or hobby breeders. Great staff that are doing their best to educate customers who have a different point of view. Don't believe everything you read. If you plan on googling a breeder please make sure it is a government website.

Just don't like seeing those poor animals sitting in glass cages with wire bottoms. Prices are unbelievable. Rescue a puppy and help put an end to puppy mills.

I recommend not doing business with this store to find a new family pet. My experience aligns with all other one star posts on this site. I had to make a appointment for my family to see the dog before they would provide a price. When they did provide pricing (after playing with dog) it was $7,000.00 for a dog that the average price is around $1,500.00 When I told them the price was excessive they just took the dog and replied to each his own. I had to provide one star in order to post but I wouldn t give any stars to this business. I hope this post helps others avoid a negative experience.

Very friendly and knowledgeable just love the puppies

Everyone was helpful and very nice! Answered my questions and got me what i needed. This is my first time here and i was surprised how much they actually have in there.

This place needs to get their information together as one. Last week my daughter called about a French bulldog and was told by the employee who answered that the dog was selling for $1500. She hung up to ask us (her parents) if we can go and see him and of course we said yes. She called back and made an appointment for the next day and again the lady said (after asking) that the dog was $1500. The next morning my daughter was getting ready to go to the bank to get her money cause she wanted it so bad that she said that she would pay half. She called the store again to make sure that the price was still $1500 and a different lady said yes. We had an appointment at 5:30 to see the dog. We live an hour and a half away. We had to live the Rochester area by 4 to get there by 5:30. We were running a little behind that day so we wanted to give them a courtesy call to tell them we were running about 30 min late. A guy answered and when my daughter told him we were coming still and that she had her money, she again said $1500 right? and he said no it was $6300. She got off the phone and started to cry. My husband called back and spoke to him and he said that there was nothing they can do. I then called back myself and spoke to another lady employee and she took my name and phone number for the manager to call back. That manager told me that she could not do much. My kids were crying and so upset. I was upset. The dog I guess came with a year warranty, free food, grooming, & nail clippings for a year. Also he came with a crate, and micro chip. Well being that I'm 1 1/2 hour away, I wont be coming back for food. The manager said that she would only take off $300. That's it. NOTHING she could or would do. $6000 for a dog?? that is nuts. I had a friend that went to look at that dog and he said that the dog looked like it had a skin problem. I don't know how anyone or any store could sell an animal for that much, and make that big of a mistake. IT WAS TERRIBLE.

Not a store I frequent or do business with. I'm against the selling of puppies in pet stores. I think people should adopt, not shop. Plenty of rescues, including puppies need homes! These petshop puppies have unknown histories. They don't relinquish where the puppies come from, their health, the breeders, or their environment. Puppies that cost over $5,000 each, but they have financing , must be reputable! NOT! All puppies are cute! If you're serious about a particular breed puppy, then do your research. You can find healthy puppies, along with actual reputable breeders locally for easily 1/3 of what they charge.

Avoid this place. They're not willing to disclose prices over the phone. So what else are they hiding? I had to give a one star rating to post but prefer to give a BIG ZERO.

Great selection of tropical fish. Was very pleased with how courteous the staff was with my children and I. Will definitely be returning

Was a bit irritated about the Mason jars they have the betas in on display with a fake flower but they end up just putting them in a bag and said they refuse the jars, also not that I would buy a puppy here but 10k for a puppy is completely ridiculous

Currently went to this location to see a puppy that I was very interested in buying ...had to make a appointment and they wouldnt say the price over the phone....the breed I wanted is expensive dog breed so I was expecting for the price to be up there....went there they wanted 12k for the puppy...absolutley blew my mind....i expected 3 to 5 thousand for sure but when they told me the price I was baffeled......horrible bussiness and have puppies laying on metal grid cages ....

I will say that I was absolutely disgusted. Not at the puppy itself but the price. We re going to the dollar tree on a Saturday afternoon and my daughter said mom let s look at a puppy at Petland, so we did and I saw a cute little Yorkie puppy. Due to COVID-19 I was told I had to make an appointment to actually meet and get acquainted with the pups. so what I did was make the appointment and I was told over the phone that if the puppy I was interested in (which was a Yorkie) was sold I would be called ahead of time to either keep the appointment or cancel. Well you guessed it, no phone call! when I got to the store there was no Yorkie and I was upset. I was shown other small dogs and we fell in love with a Shih Tzu that my toddler immediately named Bubbles, we just had to buy her! so I was interested and ready to purchase the dog for at least $1000 cash in hand but to my surprise the dog was $6000 not including the hundred dollar discount. They do offer financing but I can t see myself paying $150 for a pet per month. $6000 is close to what I would pay for a down payment on a home or a car or pay for a surgery that is needed. So what I plan to do is do some more shopping maybe find a rescue or I ll get a purebred from somewhere else. But what they are asking is ridiculous. $6000? Really. Disgusting. Just microchip the pump and make sure it has its first shots and I can do the rest I don t need your kennel I don t need your dog food I don t need your carpet cleaner or spot cleaner none of that I just want the dog the micro chipped and it s first shots. I already have a vet and will take care of all. That s it. That s all. Just sad.

Staff was too busy talking amongst each other to pay any attention to me. Their puppies aren't cheap and I was interested in seeing one

This is a great overall place, you can pet the dogs and everybody is very nice. Its a all 5 star, the bad thing is the prices are OMG. A 7,000 dollar dog for a cavalier king spaniel, the dogs are very good though, under the sun, great place.

We went there, they are out of sight. 7000 for a 2000 dog. They are only about profit. Find a breeder, more reasonable!!! And are AKC not ACA which means nothing!!

I have been going to Petland with my husband for a few years for my salt water tank and we finally decided to adopt a puppy. I had my concerns at first, but the workers there all reassured me of my worries and helped me prepare to bring my pup home. Hes so happy and healthy I couldn't be any happier! The workers there are amazing and will help you with anything you need. They offer a wide variety of fish and their puppies are the cutest in NY! Highly recommend everyone to visit this pet store!!

Omg its amazing there cages are open so u can hold any animal u want but the cages are where the animals cant get out and they let u hold the dogs

Terrible living conditions the place is pure trash and it should be shut down.

I bought some stuff for my dog there .. but it just doesn't feel right. The flowers in the fish bowls and puppy mill pups.. :( . Some people just don't know any better .. Adoption is a much better choice.

Didnt have a great of selection of what I was looking for (dog beds). However store is clean and orderly. Easy to shop.

The reptile section was good. The fish section was all right. The dogs were a little overpriced but otherwise the place was fine.

We love going here to see the puppies and play and interact with all of the other animals. However they are VERY overpriced.

My mother found out new member of the family here. She is the cutest little fur ball. The staff was very friendly and helpful. She fits right into our family.

The puppies are the cutest, most playful and the sweatiest. They have a wide range of fish and also have a ton of pet supplies. They have cute bunnies, gerbils, hamsters and birds! AMAZING PLACE!!! Please try to adapt all dogs before holidays.
