Terrible service. I have ordered a printer over 3 weeks ago and was told it would arrive in 1-2 days. Still no printer and they keep saying "send and email to cancel" everytime I call and ask for a refund (for over a week now).

Refer to the following letter regarding the trace of events in summarising a complaint I have in trying to do business with these people. I would strongly recommend anyone and everyone who is looking at this right now on google maps to look elsewhere. Many others that can provide you with customer service, and nor the very least, come up with the goods.

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to you in regards to how unsatisfactory your customer service is, and how poorly the nature of how the general service is is having to do business with you folk. It is absolutely appalling at how there isn't any form of collaboration and communication flow as to meeting the customer's expectations are as to providing a product is somewhat I can describe..... disorganised, atrocious, and far from sub standard.

Upon ordering your product and making full payment of a router on 26/09/12 and having been advised that product was ready for collection, arriving to your store in person to be turned away by the storeman (elizabeth St) there advising me that the "product had not arrived" and to also add by his words to his effect "we didn't call you to come" was outright unacceptable.

His method also of having to attempt at the time to remedy the inventory issue in his response was by simply dial a number on his mobile phone, and hand the phone over to me, expecting that i'd speak to his internal staff about what happened - also unacceptable.

Mind I remind you that I am the customer. I have no bearing as to being responsible to sort out your operational shortcomings.

Upon leaving the store, he promised that the product would arrive in another 4-5 days.

7 days later, on the 6/10, 2:10PM, I called ahead to confirm arrival, to yet again suffer disappointment by having spoke to a female operator named Tess. She indicated that they still have not had it in stock yet and could not answer my question after having asked her numerous times when can I expect delivery.

There was no way that I would oblige to go with such loosely handed information and commit more of my time to wait, so therefore, I demanded cancellation and refund. Tess complied as per my wish and processed the cancellation and was told that credit would appear in my account in ANOTHER 3-4 days.

9 days later - - STILL NO CREDIT. today, 15/10/12 3:06PM, I called again to follow up and another female operator advises me that it would take yet ANOTHER week to process this credit - UNACCEPTABLE.

Shall this credit not occur within what you have NOW had re-specified (phone call today, 15/10/12 3:06PM)

Your level of service is unacceptable, and the matter will be escalated to ombudsman shall you fail to comply pending rectification.

Should there be anything unclear about the understanding of how serious this matter is, I would recommend you to call me. The way I see this situation is that you have simply to the matter of effect, robbed me of my money, and appear to refuse to return it to me. I am appalled with this treatment as you had taken every step as to taken my money faster, than what it takes to return it, nor nevertheless, come up with the goods.

PS: You should also know that I've since managed to source this product with an alternative 'Melbourne' supplier, which had successful managed to deliver the product to myself in Sydney in 1 business day.

I am writing this because PENTA needs to read it and the General Public: Guys you are not playing the game .. my result has ended positive, but it was hard getting that result let me explain.

How does one describe a company that doesn't appreciate its customers and the money they spend no matter how small or how large, well use your own words for this one. Some of the reviews I have read state this in very few words.

I purchased a laptop 21st Feb then after paying for it I received an email stating they would have new stock in two weeks.. yep very annoyed as I was unaware they didn't have the stock and no message on their site to say "Out of Stock" and by then I had PAID, that email they sent to me on first read looked ok, "sorry but the new stock won't be for two weeks" and also said they could offer an alternative, thinking ah well maybe the alternative is better, more expensive, sounded just like a ploy to get you to buy a special sale item on the web site which is suddenly "Out of Stock" and then hit you for more money for another one, well I have since tried find out what s happening with my purchase and now they say they cannot supply at all.

I tried the CHAT line first (Call Centre) boy was that a mistake DO NOT PUSH THAT BUTTON to speak to that picture of a happy smiling face on the website!!.. one hour of my life wasted whilst I was passed from one girl to another, no names lets be nice, sometimes I wonder why I should be nice, they are not. Then to be kept waiting 15 minutes before I received the word "Hi", then a further 15 minutes before she acknowledged again the dialogue was "well we sent you an email saying we didn't have in stock" well actually the email said we don't have in stock now but they will in two weeks. Then another wait of 20 minutes and after the hour passed I just cancelled the chat. Then I proceeded to send numerous emails, no response and then finally success.

To Summarise: Anyone thinking of getting anything from Penta.. all I can say is go for it but be careful, they are not good to deal with, I think it is the owner that is causing the problem, so before you push the button make sure you check out all the sites first (there are some good ones, thrust me) you may pay $20 more, maybe get it for less, but it will be worth it. Then again you may get your deal and be very happy so it does work both ways, maybe they should just be more understanding of the public s concerns when people part with their hard earned money up front and get nothing. How would they feel if it happened to them, but from what I can see from all the reviews they obviously do not understand, or maybe don t know what s happening?. Good Luck to you all, use them, but be very careful. Work it out from the reviews over 50 on Google and other review sites, not good.

This review was written over a few days as events unfolded (after purchasing something over 3 weeks ago), emails back and forth, then today I finally received the transaction receipt showing monies refunded. Success. Never again will I go to their web site and if anyone asks me about them well guess what my response will be..!!

PENTA GROUP read your reviews, there are many.. wake up your customers are not happy. You cannot continue to upset so many people. Start serving the customer. We are the customer, without us you cease to exist.. WAKE UP

Dishonest about stocking an item and delivery times. Poor customer service, even hung up on me. Would not cancel order without 'restocking fee' of $200 despite being unable to advise delivery time. Go elsewhere.

The call centre are rude and just leave you on hold do not deposit money into their account unless you want to lose it.

Why didnt i read the reviews before ordering online?!?!
they charged my Credit twice for the same order and still fighting three weeks later to get a refund. Already made a complaint with ACCC, next step, will be in their office telling them how i really feel about their service.
Now they are holiding over $2,221 on my CC which i need back so i can order from another supplier. how pathetic .

I ordered TrackIR from them, quoted $16.99 shipping but was not asked to provide payment on ordering it. They then phoned me for payment and added $7 for 'Insurance' for a standard delivery to the ACT. DO NOT trust them, go elsewhere!
I ordered from PC Case Gear (never used them before, normally Umart or MSY but they don't stock TrackIR) and purchased it for $8 less and they charged me $14 for fully insured express delivery. Even MSY has given me better service with no hidden costs then this mob. My TrackIR arrived next day and is now sitting pretty on my monitor and I saved myself $18. I'll repeat it if you missed it, go elsewhere.

Reading all the reviews today after ordering the item made me quite scared so I decided to call them back to confirm my delivery date.

Placed an order online at the beginning of December. Told them it was essential that I have the item immediately. Promised it within 1 week. They failed to deliver the item. Then the delivery date was changed 5 times. I was told to come to the shop on a Saturday to collect the item. I found the shop boarded up and with a broken window. They claimed that the shop is never open on a Saturday but their web site confirms that it is. Having been scammed I have informed my credit card company and cancelled my card as they had taken a $200 deposit. Currently trying to obtain a refund from the credit card company as they have fradulently taken a deposit and never intended to supply the item by the required date. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

They are evil. They deliberately leave their email box full so you cannot contact them. When you contact them by phone they say that they are waiting for funds to clear. I have sent them copies of the transactions. Still no justice after 4 weeks. They have no shop with goods but order from the manufacturers directly. This takes time and months at times. They are a disgrace 0 stars

Wish I'd read the plethora of negative reviews about these clowns before I ordered. Ended up sourcing the printer from SkyComp who had it ready the next day and paid on collection

Sometimes you would rely on the fact the business has ads on google, you would think they must be not too bad. well, l learned my lesson. I am just stupid enough to buy from them. almost 4 weeks ago i ordered a monitor from them, for which on their website it said "high stock". i chose to bank transfer money, and got it done right after i placed the order, never heard anything from them for a week, which was ridiculous. then i emailed to seek confirmation..It took them another few days to just tell me that they had not received clearance notice from bank.(how long it takes a bank transfer to hit the recipient's bank, 48 hours maximum???!!!) then a few days later, they confirmed that they received money, and told me stock will be ready by Friday, they would give me a call on Friday to pick it up; i waited till Friday, no calls. I waited till the next Wednesday, called them again, got the same answer, that stock will be ready by Friday, they would give me a call on Friday to pick it up; i waited till Friday again ,and still no calls. I called two days ago, the woman speaking like a robot, spit out the same words again: madam, your stock will be ready by Friday, we will call you on Friday to pick it up blah blah blah. No matter what i said to her, she could only say to me those words. I asked if she can promise i could get it by friday, since its a birthday gift for my hubby, his birthday is Saturday. She said no, she cant promise, she said again the same words about Friday blah blah, but added a few: if not Friday, Monday is the latest. Today, which is Thursday i received an email telling me that the item is out of stock, and she asked 15 bucks extra shipping cost so that they can order from somewhere else, or i can choose something else from their store. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!! after all these calls and waiting, they just simply notified me that its out of stock?! They could have told me 3 weeks ago, i could have ordered from somewhere else, and i would have already received the monitor, and i would have not stuffed up the birthday gift. I emailed back asking for refund. I am ready to report to fair trading, if i have problem with the refund. I will visit their store, to pick up cash if necessary.

Easily worst customer service experience. Took my credit card details on the spot and told me they would ship overnight. 4 weeks later no motherboard, no shipping number, nothing. and they couldn't care less. going to have to lodge a fraudulent claim with credit card company.
I would never recommend Penta to anyone under any circumstances.

I placed an order for some computer parts that they told me were in stock and payed for them over the phone. After not receiving them by the thursday 4 days later rang and they told me that they were waiting for an item to come in and would send them out on the friday. Rang them again on the following wendsday to be told that they were sending them tomorrow. Guess what still not sent. 3 weeks later and there still saying they will be sent next week. Threatened them that I would cancel my credit card transaction and they refuse to refund my money. Stay away from this company they only deal in lies, Only wish I read reviews on this company before I placed an order.

This company are liars. I have called them at least 5 times and had the same response that my order has been processed and that the delivery was 2 days away.

I am going to ring the police and report a theft of my hard earned money by either the most hopeless business people on the planet or the largest rip off merchants that have ever graced the internet. Fair Dinkum these guys could work for a Nigerian Prince.

Luckily I am in Sydney so I have advised them that If no product by end of the week I will be coming to the listed address to recoup my funds in cash or property from whoever is there however I suspect that they are all in Mumbai (or NIGERIA).

I ordered a laptop on 6May and they hounded me 3 days straight for payment despite the money having been transferred straight away. They would not check their account, they just wanted me to email a copy of the payment before they would proceed any further.

Penta promised me delivery on 4 separate occasions and when it didn't arrive, I would get the run around on the phone. Managers would not speak to me, they just transferred me back to the original person.

Beware of cheaper prices! Customer service is really unsatisfactory if not completely absent!

My package was then only delivered on 28May after I had threatened to make a complaint with Fair Trading. We are continuing with our complaint at the time of this review.

The worst company I have ever dealt with. Ordered an item in Sep 2013, never got it. Requested a refund of my money. Now Mar 2014 & still no refund. Whenever I ring they either don't answer or, on the (very) rare occasions that they do, the person I need to speak to about the refund of my $700 is "on holidays" or "will be back Monday" or "that department is closed today" et al. Their business ethics (or lack of) has to be experienced to be believed. How they are still in business is amazing. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!

Ordered Printer because they had a good price and after a week contacted by phone for the status as my old printer had broken down.

Answer is a standard that "we will contact you when it comes". Have since rang twice and am now convinced that they had lost the order. Have to wait another two days (now 12 days elapsed after ordering). I am going to cancel the order as there is no guarantee it will ever come.

Don't bother with them even though they may be cheap.

I paid for a new commercial TV panel via their website. It took three weeks to arrive and every time I called asking when it was going to be delivered, they made up a new story. They obviously can not remember their lies!
But wait, it gets worse... when the TV arrived and I helped the courier carry it in I could feel how the panel was loose inside the box. I asked the courier to wait and I took the top of the box and saw that the screen was smashed, some internal foam packaging was missing and there were fingerprints all over this 'new' TV. I refused the item and the courier took it straight back.
Now they are not responding to my emails and when I call them they yell at me and I can not understand a word they say due to their poor grasp of the English language.
I will have to go to the NSW Dept of Fair Trading to have this dealt with I think. My advice: do not trust these people and do not give them any of your money!

I ordered A product from these rude pigs of people who continually lie and cheat their way through life. I ordered on a monday and was told i would receive my product by friday, this never happened. I was then told tuesday of the next week. Again this never happened. I was then told the end of that week, again this never happened. This went on for 3 weeks and was told the whole time that i could get a full refund if i did not wish to wait. I took them up on the offer but as soon as i asked them to cancel and give me a refund they refused, then told me that i would have to pay a 15% re stocking fee. It was only after i contacted the Department of Fair Trading and i was told by them that they would defend my position and that they had no right to charge me a re stocking fee that they finally agreed to issue a refund. DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS COMPANY. They are dirty pigs of people and i would not wish them on my worst enemy.

This company sucks. I ordered and paid for two items totaling about $1,600 last December (2012). I have been trying to get my money back ever since without success. They never delivered the goods and, despite saying they would refund the money, never have. I've been to consumer affairs without success (they seem to be toothless dogs) so I'm left with finding as many places as I can to diss them publicly.
Let their general standing on this review site be a warning to all!

This is the worst company I have had to deal with. They are truly terrible. I purchased a computer from them stating when I puchased it that I needed it by a certain date. They promised me it would be delivered by this date. Never came and then they kept on telling me it was coming by the "Friday". Fast forward a month and it still hadn't been delivered! I asked for a full refund and said they wanted a restocking fee which I refused. Now I have been waiting another 3 weeks and still no refund. Still getting the whole "Will be refunded by Friday this week" which they have said to me three times in three subsequent weeks! If you like to have you goods delivered to you when you buy them then I would recommend not using these people

NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE! Ordered something in October - online as I am in Melb. Was told it was a 6 week wait. After 6 weeks was told item was no longer available (even though I ordered one elsewhere and got it the following week!). I then went through 2 months of trying to get a refund - constantly being told that I would get it in a few days time. STUPIDLY I paid by EFT rather than Credit Card (why did I not check the reviews!!). Finally I called my Fair Trading office and they told me to send a registered letter demanding my refund by a set date and if I did not get it then they would take over my case for me. Sent the letter, next day got a confirmation of refund and the funds were in my account the day after. Probably rates as the most frustrating retail experience I have ever had. So they had my money for 3 months. Multiply that by how many people are in my situation and it amounts to a cheap business loan!

Lied about stock levels, saying an item was in stock over the phone AND email (both of which were poor experiences). I travelled into the city to retrieve the item only to be told it was 'at a warehouse'. I said 'you said it was in stock' and the reply was 'it is - it will be in next week'.

This place is cheap, but they have to be. They cut corners, the shop looks like a bomb hit it. I highly doubt there is any after sales service, considering there is no pre-sales service! Good luck if you have any problems...

I was actually quite skeptical coming into this store, especially after reading all of the previous reviews below and seeing they were all negative. And to be fair, some points such as the store being messy do hold up true. You might not get the typical grinning-ear-to-ear salesmen that as a consumer we are used to, but they do their job and the prices ARE cheap. I purchased a graphics tablet, and was guaranteed it's arrival 2 working days later. I picked it up on the day I was told.

Prior to ordering, I had even brought up the fact that I had read many negative reviews of the store online. They explained to me they get plenty of orders because they are wholesalers. And as far as I know, all of these negative reviewers could just be outliers. But for me, I would purchase from this place again given it's satisfactory service but CHEAP prices.

Wish I had read the reviews before placing an order on 3/7, they said item was in stock so I paid via EFT, money was in their account on the 4/7 but despite 3 emails & a phone call to there appalling call centre they still claim they are waiting for confirmation from their bank before confirming I can collect the item.

I intend to take the matter to Fair Trading, people should be warned this company needs to be avoided at all costs. I should have paid the extra $10 & purchased at Dick Smith, at least I would have had the goods the next day!

They are rude & unhelpful when you contact them to ask what is going on! To be avoided at all cost!

Stay away from these people! You have been warned. We ordered a QNAP NAS 3 weeks ago after making sure they have stock and will ship that week. We are still waiting. Phone calls, email enquires do not have any effect. We are being deceived! Each time we are given a different excuse, either the dispatcher is sick, sales person is away. We have been promissed the tracking number 4 times already! These people hardly speak English and are rude - is that the way to go when doing business in Australia?

BEWARE! Do not buy anything from them. They are online robbers. Their shop is closed and they used to do trade as Penta computers and now they are trading as home improvements. I purchased a laptop online in 3 months ago and neither got the delivery nor the refund.

Extremely rude customer service, and that's when you get service. After days of no replies to my emails I had to call up to check an order which should have been in stock but instead was rudely told that it won't come for another week and before I could ask anything else was hung up on by some indian call centre person.

They put low prices online only to tell you later that the price is incorrect and therefore charge you a much higher price for the product whereby you have to wait up to a month for it to arrive. I wouldn't recommend anyone to shop here.

We placed an order for a Wacom Cintiq graphics tab...

We placed an order for a Wacom Cintiq graphics tablet on June 26th and paid promptly by EFT.

On July 12th we were informed that Penta's warehouse and suppliers were out of stock so they would have to source it from an external supplier. They also wanted us to pay an extra $100 for this. We refused and cancelled our order.

Fast forward to September 4th. We have called at least 10 times requesting our refund be processed, emailed their accounts department (I'm not sure they actually have an accounts department) and every single time we have been lied to by their staff.

We are today sending them a formal letter requesting the refund be processed in the next 7 days or else we will be reporting them to Fair Trade and the ACCC.

Do not buy from this website, they are complete scammers and should be shut down.

UPDATE

I ended up lodging a complaint with NSW Fair Trading after receiving no reply to my letter and 5 days later I receive an email from their accounts department advising my refund had been processed! Sure enough the money is in our account. Very glad that this has been resolved.
