I just rented an apartment through Penny Realty. I worked with Alexis and Lyssa and they were absolutely amazing! They were incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. Alexis is very knowledgeable and has clearly been doing this for a long time. She continues to be available for anything I need now that i'm now living there. Thank you!

I was over seas while apartment searching and found a great unit through Penny Realty. Aleesa the leasing agent was incredibly accommodating and made the process extremely simple.

This was a perfect location for our staycation. Our family loves South Mission and this home had all the perfect touches for a memorable weekend.

My roommate and I finished moving out of the unit we lived in for a year and part of the pleasant experience we had there was due to Jennifer Woods. She was very diligent with keeping up with our HOA to fix a plumbing problem that occurred and was always easy to reach and wonderful to work with. Jennifer was very timely and dedicated to making sure we were happy and comfortable. I am so glad we lived in a unit that was managed my Penny Realty and Jennifer :) We didn t move out due to any issues, we simply moved out because we each purchased a home

We really enjoyed our stay here. The deck was a favorite place for all of us to sit and enjoy the weather. I enjoyed the short walk to the bay with my granddaughter in the morning to collect little shells. No air conditioning but they have ceiling fans and a few extra fans to help. They had beach toys, a wagon and a few beach chairs to help with our beach time. Very cute place. Thank you for the fun time!

I can not say enough about Penny Realty. My husband and I have rented many different beach houses in San Diego. We keep going back to our favorite Just Chillin. We have rented this awesome place four times now. This beach home has EVERYTHING you could want for a perfect beach vacation. The owners clearly take pride in their rental. The highest quality of everything. Perfect location!!! Jeff from Penny Realty makes the whole experience so easy. One thing is he almost always answers his call, which is not usual in the property management world. Our last check in there was a small problem with parking when we arrived Jeff had the problem solved within 30 mins. I know for sure we would not even consider renting from anyone but Penny Realty and staying at Just Chillin.

I live overseas and Penny Realty has been managing our Condo for over 6 years. I find them to be personable, competent and friendly. They have taken care of all taxes, maintenance and tenant issues in a timely and professional manner. I highly recommend using them for Property Management.

I have been nothing but disappointed by the service provided by Penny Realty since picking up my keys and beginning my lease on 2/24. It was clear from the moment I walked into my new apartment that no move-out inspection had been conducted when the last tenant moved out. Items were missing and/or broken and the place had not been cleaned. I cleaned out an entire medicine cabinet of prescription drugs!! A contractor was sent in five days after my move-in to fix the items I had initially found that needed addressing. Unfortunately, he could not complete all of them on that day and to come back the following Saturday night to fix the rest. He has been great. Viviana, the property manager, has some of the worst customer service skills I have seen. Since my move in, I have sent several emails and called multiple times in regards to other items that still need to be repaired/keys that are missing/the rent credit that we were promised for all of our troubles. On the 24th, she had told me she would accompany the contractor when he came out and I asked that she specifically be there so I could go through the list of all the problems in the apartment so the owner could be notified. When the contractor was finally scheduled to come out after work she told me she couldn't accompany him because it was "past my time and I can't work that late". WHAT! She has refused my attempts to contact her via phone though I have specifically asked to speak to her further regarding the ongoing issues. I have now left a message with the owner of Penny as well in attempts to get someone on the phone and have not heard from anyone. I would never have signed the lease when I did knowing that the place had so many issues.

As a rental property owner, I would like to recommend Penny's accountant Jenn Childers. She is accurate, timely, and knowledgeable. You own your property as an investment, which means you care about the investment statement you get. It's nice to have a quality accountant to talk to when you have questions.

I recently had an issue with my fridge not working. I must say that David Chang who works at Penny Realty was fantastic! He was quick to respond to my initial email, and he communicated with me every step of the way. It was a relief to know that David took his role seriously and assisted me professionally and promptly.

It is literally on the beach- open the door and step into the sand, a pizzeria, grocery store. House is big and cozy, great streaming and entertainment. Thoughtfully placed seating areas- see the sea, sunset, surfers.....Great house for people with toddlers, so much sand and so close to seaworld!

I recently had the pleasure of working with Jen at Penny Realty, and her professionalism and responsiveness to my situation were top notch! I own a property next to one that Penny Realty manages, and she went above and beyond in helping resolve a small issue. I highly recommend both Jen and Penny Realty!

Great stay right on the beach with a spacious unit and clean, with three bedrooms and two large sitting areas. The view from the master bedroom and upstairs sitting area were heavenly. We watched sunrise/sunset and waves while sipping one's drinks. The host provided a Keurig for easy access to coffee and other hot drinks. Too cold to swim during the week but the storm brought in huge waves that were tremendous to watch right from the back upstairs porch! The unit is very close to OB pier and town, with great restaurants, coffee shops, pharmacy, and florists. Great beach town vibe and local character. The unit's backyard is a public beach, with volleyball net posts for summer fun. Very well maintained and stocked unit. We enjoyed a very relaxing stay and hope to be back!

Jeff and Nancy and their team were really helpful. I would highly recommend using them; they went the extra mile and provided us with the receipts we needed (whereas TripAdvisor were useless).

This place is absolutely amazing!! Steps from the bay and the beach, you can t beat it for location! The home had everything we needed and was incredibly comfortable. Penny Realty does a great job in managing the property-very responsive and informative. Would stay again in a heartbeat!!

Penny Realty has always been very prompt when we have needed maintenance in our home. Their communication with us is always timely, and I appreciate their professionalism. We have had only positive experiences with them, especially with Ayari Jimenez and Patricia Terry.

My husband and I have been renting a beautiful house near the beach from Penny Realty for almost two years now. They have been nothing but accommodating, and pleasant. Any time we ever need anything they're quick to respond and truly care about taking care of their tenants. Their Pacific Beach location is also very close to many of their rentals which makes it easy to stop by and talk with any of them or drop off rent!

Worked with Penny Realty this past weekend as they are the managing agent for a VRBO rental that we stayed in (Bobby D's Beach House). We loved the house and we really enjoyed working with Jeff. He was prompt and thorough and just a pleasure to work with. Penny Realty was easy to do business with and we are just all around happy with everything. We will definitely stay at this house again in the future and we would love to work with Penny Realty again should that happen as well. Thank you for a great weekend.

Jennifer takes care of me every time I have any thing come up with my apartment! She is very understanding, flexible, and timely with her work. I appreciate her genuine attitude and have never had such a great property manager before! I hope I can work with her and live here forever. Thank you jennifer for being the best!!

Jennifer was terrific from start to finish, helping me with billing and tax issues. She responded to every email quickly, answered every question clearly and solved every problem.

Penny Realty tries their hardest to keep their costs reasonably priced while staying within market value. They are prompt to respond to issues and consider the needs of the tenants more often than any previous management companies that I have dealt with. I appreciate working with the staff that works there.

I never write reviews but felt it necessary for Penny Realty and the Harbor View House. Working with Penny Realty was super easy. They were accommodating - I wasn't able to pick up keys to the rental property within their business hours, and even with very short notice, they worked with me. And it didn't matter if I was calling or walking into the office, they referred to me by my name and knew exactly what property I was in. That made me feel important, that I wasn't just business for them. Not going to lie, responses through texting via Airbnb (which helped to facilitate the rental) were a little delayed, but next time I know to just call them because they really are on top of it all.

We stayed in the Harbor View House. There were 12 of us and it was plenty big. It was a great home. We loved the location - easy access to major highways, super close to the airport, yet you couldn't hear the airplanes, close to Ocean Beach, Mission Beach, Sea World, a Ralph's grocery store and plenty of eateries around the harbor. The neighborhood felt safe, neighbors were friendly, the house was very well kept (loved the A/C), and the view for Fourth of July fireworks was perfect. When we rented this place, there were no reviews about the home and the price seemed too good to be true, but we were very pleased. All around, it was a great experience! Would definitely stay here again and definitely would do business with Penny Realty again.

Ayari has been my landlord for a little less than a year but she s been nothing but amazing and helpful! She truly Cares about the tenants in our unit and is always there to help us fulfill our needs any time of the day with a positive attitude! She always has a quick response and takes care of any issues we may have in a timely manner!! She is one of the best landlords I have ever had.

recently have been working with Penny Realty in the search of a new home. From the viewing with Cherie to the signing of the security deposit with Brittany it just moved along. Cherie (Hope I am spelling it correctly) was quite personable and answered all my questions in one viewing. Brittany kept open communication and was very responsive to my emails. I feel really good energy from this transaction and look forward to my new 12 month lease.

I really appreciate Jennifer Childers in accounting who truly completes the long term property management team for Penny Realty. Jennifer is usually available to answer general questions when other team members are not available, and assist in any accounting questions. She understands the issues and promptly tries to solve the issues. She is also pleasant to talk with on the phone; very personable. Thank you for providing such excellent service.

I chose to take on Penny Realty for property management on my condo five or so years ago. Best decision I ever made! They manage my tenants, provide maintenance on my unit with their vendors when needed and allow me tremendous peace of mind for a fair fee.

It was a very pleasant experience. Except for the internet and tv issues, which were resolved as quickly as possible (Thank you.), everything was in good working order. The proximity to the beach was my desire and the property fit my needs wonderfully. The people at Penny Realty were as helpful and accommodating as I could have wished. I will happily call them in future if I ever find myself in need of rental services in San Diego.

My family rented Decked Out I and Decked Out II twice in five years. We just finished our second vacation there and both were wonderful experiences. The houses were clean and well maintained with minor wear and tear that most rentals come with.

The service of the staff is great. They allowed us to check in early and also allowed me to check in for the reservation under my aunt s name. Overall they are an easy going down to earth group of people.

The clean up process was easy, they cover everything, only asking us to gather towels and run the dish washer. They are not nit picky the way some places can be. It was nice to just leave the place after several nights.

We are excited to return again in a few years and we will most likely get this place or another Penny Realty place.

We have only been working with Penny Realty for about a month, but in that time Brittany and Greg have proven to be efficient, professional, caring, and sensitive to all our concerns and needs. As promised, they had our house rented within 14 days of its listing, and in the interim they managed our crazy setup, repairs, and a host of issues too numerous to list. All along the way, they were considerate, timely, and a pleasure to deal with. This is the first property management agency we've contracted with, and we are looking forward to a long and happy relationship. Can recommend them without hesitation to first-time renters or anyone at all.

If you're looking for a very clean, comfortable place to stay at Mission Beach that is only a few steps away from the boardwalk and ocean, then this is the place that you want! We rented this affordable beach house to accommodate my family of 4 and 3 adult in-laws. This place was spacious and comfortable in that we all had our own private bathrooms and balconies. We didn't use the living room as a living room per say, but it worked out perfectly as the 2 children slept on the pull out sofa beds and my son was able to hook up his play station (which is important to 10 yr old boys lol.) The bottom level was a communal space where we would hang out to read and play board games on the front porch, grill out, cook and eat. I would like to note, that all the necessities are there, just in case you forget anything (i.e. pots, pans, blankets, iron, ironing board, hair dryers, etc.) as well as there was a brand new gas grill, washer and dryer for us to use. I would have to honestly say that this is the best vacation place we've stayed at Mission Beach, and we have been going there every year for the past 10 years. We absolutely are thinking about booking this place again next summer when we go back.

I've used them to manage my property since 2008. There was a high turnover in the past. My manager kept changing and I have had bad experience with some. Then, there was a time when my unit was 5 months empty because of neighbor harassment at showing. There wasn't any incentive for Penny Realty to fill the unit since they still got pay when it's empty. Upon review, we changed the agreement and now, no payment if the unit is empty. Right now I have an awesome manager, Patricia Terry. She helps me as much as she could, care about the tenant rights, and very knowledgeable. I hope Penny Realty does everything they can to retain her.

I have recently moved into my new place on 253 10th Ave Downtown, and I could not say enough good things about the David Chang. He was very flexible with my schedule in regards to showing me this property on such short notice, and I was able to get into my place in under a week which saved me from having to pay my rent for my previous place as well.

I am very pleased with the assistance that I have received and would definitely use him again in the future.

I rented one of their properties in Ocean Beach, San Diego. My review for the house is below. Working with Penny Realty was also a breeze, they were very responsive and there were no issues.

Loved this beach house! I came with my family and it was perfect. There is a ground floor bedroom with walk-in shower that is good for any older people, and suited my 94 year old grandma very well. The other bedrooms are upstairs. The main dining area, living area and downstairs patio has direct views of the sand and waves. We were worried that grandma wouldn't be able to see the waves from the patio because of how broad the beach was, but you are able to see crashing waves so that was great. It is very easy to spend time on the patio and it is pretty spacious, easily fit all 6 of us staying there. There are two TV/living areas in case one part of the house is going to bed earlier than the other. The kitchen was very functional, but if you need things like tin foil and baggies you should bring your own. The beach out front is great, with direct sand access from the patio. When we were there there was a rip current on the beach directly in front of us, but the lifeguards recommended just moving one lifeguard station up. There are about 10 bonfire rings on the beach just in front of and slightly north of the house. We went during grunion run season (pretty prolonged march-august) and there was an amazing turn out on night 3 of the run just to the south of us, between the stone break and the pier, but almost nothing on night 4! Overall, a nice cozy beach house. Not super modern or gonna wow you with style, but definitely clean, put together, thoughtful furniture, and well done.

After several less than pleasant encounters with private renters and other management companies, Penny Realty has proved to be a savior for my roommates and I in finding a great home in Pacific Beach. We worked directly with Lyssa, who provided prompt and excellent service to us, and was very accommodating and professional. I would definitely recommend Penny Realty to anyone looking to rent in San Diego, and if possible to request working with Lyssa.

Very nice condo and great location. Well worth the money. Great private parking also in gated garage. Plan to return to the Top of the Beach unit again. Jeff was great to deal with also.
