Those two stars are the hundred percent satisfaction that I've experienced with every other Pelican product I've ever purchased so I don't know what happened here I bought this weapons case about a year ago.I had 2 long guns stored inside. on a trip f
we filled up the truck, i put the case at the bottem of the pile with out other gun cases. So there was a lot of weight on top of it but not that much that it should have broke. And not just kind of broke but fantastically cracked and blew out hinges after only an 8-hour drive. Last hour was over off-road and a bit bumpy but nobody else had a broken case at the end of it and I had just bought it. I wanted to see if it was warranty eligible but moved and having already replaced the case with an SKB which I'm not happy with either but at least it's not broken yet, lost track of the case. Talked to my buddy yesterday it turns out it's been sitting outside of his house with a few other Pelican cases for the last year. I don't know if it's warranty eligible still I will look into it and update this. But I want you to look at those pictures I have attached at the difference between a Pelican Hardigg case and the weapons case i bought. the hardigg has been out there 2x as long it looks new in comparison to mine. Another thing to look at, are the bubbles in the molding. i have never seen a pelican case break before so I don't know if the bubbling is normal but it doesn't look right to me. Comments are welcome.
Edit: shortly after making this post I was contacted by pelican and after a few verification pictures, send a replacement case free of charge. Although I had thought to contact Pelican before writing this initial review, I was unsuccessful in having my issue resolved. That being said to customer service representative who contacted me deserves 6 Stars for their attentiveness to my issue and thankfully abundant experience in problem solving/ troubleshooting. An ability that was absent from my previous attempt to resolve this issue.
Thank you Pelican for standing behind your products, this was the first and only time your product has ever failed me and I am so grateful for your recognition and action in making it right.
