Dr. Mohling's immediate presence is calm, caring, and motherly in the best way. She made me feel safe, comfortable and heard, giving me reassurance that my pain was real. Dr. M was able to answer all of my questions, showed me my endometrioma on my L ovary on an ultrasound, and explained why endo has caused so much pain for me. After meeting her one time for my initial apt, I knew I wanted to schedule an excision. Overall, she made me feel confident in my decision.
My excision was assisted by Dr. Richard Rosenfield. I also had the Liletta IUD put in, and had my bladder checked for IC. The nurses, anesthesiologist and both surgeons were all very kind and made me feel comfortable and well taken care of prior to and after my lap. Since I had surgery during COVID, my mom was unable to be with me part of the time so feeling safe and comfortable were important. When I woke up, Dr. Mohling came into the post-op area and told me the excision was successful (ovaries preserved) and that I did in fact have endometriosis. I will never forget that moment. Dr. M also updated my mom on how the surgery went, and I was soon on my way home.
At my post-op apt, Dr. Mohling went over in detail the pictures from my surgery. She broke up some scar tissue around my incisions and said they re healing very well. Any time I had any issues during my recovery (minor belly button infection, possible bladder infection) I was able to get ahold of her quickly and have the problem solved! She truly cares about YOU, your health, and overall wellbeing.
I feel like a whole new person and I feel like I can finally live my life. My back and hip pain is significantly less (some gone completely) along with all of my other endo symptoms and I am only a month and a half post-op. Thank you Dr. Shanti Mohling! I highly recommend her.
