Pear Delicatessen Review

I was there 9/17/2015 with my girlfriend and her mother. We walked in and saw their "specials" sign and noticed some kind of BBQ pork sandwich on special for $7, sounded good to us so we ordered 2 and also ordered the Rachel. Got 2 sides of mac and cheese and some sort of bisque. My complaint isn't about the food, it was wonderful. However the fact that they didn't honor the advertised special price for the pork sandwiches (that disappeared when I went to check it) the fact that they charge a $2 "uncorking" fee on a can of cheap beer. And the fact that the young girl at the register tried to tell me the "uncorking" fee was a state law... I've lived in the state of WA for 43 years and have ordered alcohol at many establishments, outside of Seattle, and have never heard of this law... I also asked another establishment close to Pear, and they said that they don't charge said "uncorking" fee. Sorry, we were kind of turned off by the whole experience.

AMAZING SANDWICHES , the Rachel is like thanksgiving dinner with bacon on steroids packed into a sandwich, also a great selection on craft beers and ciders , very open space but also cozy ! Super friendly staff too !

My husband and I walked in during lunch time. He had the Queens islAnd sandwich and I had the tuna sandwich, full order of Cesar salad and a drink for $30.00. Price was great and the food was awesome. Great service, clean and good atmosphere. Definitely will come back next time.

Delicious sandwiches and great beer selection. Perfect place to get lunch arty the market, or a quick cup of coffee.

I like going here for lunch every week or two. They have a great, and fun, drink section where I can try root beers or lemonades that I have never had before. I really like the reuben sandwich and haven't tried anything else because that is what I crave when I go there. I am not really a reuben eater, so don't take my word that it is good. They are good ingredients at least.

We had a wonderful lunch at your Shoppe! Pear-fect grilled cheese was just that. And the Marnier sandwich so rich with flavor and freshness. The Rachel was delicious like the best ever after Thanksgiving sandwich. The soda's what a selection and the lemon soda - oh my! Great recommendation on the beer and such a lovely dining environment we can't wait to come back!

My wife and I are so sad that this place closed. They had very good sandwiches and a large selection of root beers that are hard to find.

Pear is my absolute favorite lunch spot. The sandwiches are amazing and they have a line of huge refrigerators with a zillion kinds of pop.

Quality of the soups and sandwiches here are top notch. The Market Salad is also delicious. One of my favorite places to go for lunch.

It's a really great place for an artesian lunch. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable

Awesome vegetarian sandwich. The hummus was amazing and the vegetables were incredibly fresh. Also, given how marked up prices in Pikes Place Market can be, this place was actually a good deal. Would definitely recommend stopping in for a sandwich and a break from the tourists

I worked in downtown Seattle for 5 years, and this is my favorite sandwich shop in the entire city - sandwiches are fantastic and reasonably priced! The store itself also has lots of great local grocery options.

Used this place everyday on holiday. My wife and I really enjoyed the coffee and the meals. The lady with the Lillac coloured hair served and was always friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Seattle.

I mostly just come here for beer and it has a pretty good variety. Like most places in Seattle, though, it focuses so much on IPAs and APAs that for drinkers of lagers, pilsners, brown ales etc. you're kind of left wishing their variety was more expansive. Still a very good place to find some unique beers.

Great selection of sandwiches and sodas. The 'Ranier Blue' sandwich is the perfect blend of "roast beef, cippoline balsamic jam, blue cheese and baby arugula on olive bread" Need I say more?

Excellent, Fresh salads! Salmon added is delicious! To top it off, no lines!

Easy 5 stars. Very easy. Had an awesome sandwich and they have a selection of probably 50 micro/craft sodas. They were out of soup which made me sad but I'll be back.

My favorite spot to stop when visiting Pike's Market! The food is amazing after a long day of traveling or exploring, the service is quick as well. Pear offers a lot of great seating and even during peak Pike's Market hours I tend to be able to find a good spot to hang out and people watch.

Great atmosphere, very close to Pikes Place market. Not the fastest service, but you can people watch while you wait. I got the egg salad (it has celery, btw), my husband got the grilled cheese with ham. The grilled cheese was perfect. I also bought a hard pear cider, great price even with the $1 charged for drinking there.

Great spot for lunch. The Veggie Market sandwich is excellent for vegetarians. Lots of drinks to choose from but there is a $2 fee for them to open any alcohol for you.
