Ethical and compassionate. It cost about $50 less to replace the keyboard than the estimate, so they gave me the extra back. In my first review last year, they felt bad they couldn't save my hard drive as promised, and refunded the diagnostic fee. Truly nice people

My Aspire was fixed at this place about 3 weeks ago and i haven't seen my laptop run this good in a very long time. Bad apps were cleaned, fan stuff was cleaned as well and a tune-up was performed. Computer feels like it's out of the box - tech was friendly too and didn't hesitate is offering free tips. Price was very reasonable too. There is no "employee only" room at this place so all work is done in front of you. I can recommend him to others.

I've been coming here for all my Alienware repairs, cleaning/upgrades for the last few years and I've had great experiences every single time. My most recent visit was for an SSD install + LED lightings fixes and repasting my Alienware laptop as it was overheating.

Ralph is fantastic. His customer service is superb as he went above and beyond to get everything perfect. He was super polite and helpful with all the questions I had. He also gave great guidance for upgrading my Alienware 15 R3. I'm really thankful for the service from PCNix over the years.

This place is amazing. Lightning fast turnaround, super friendly and professional. My concern was A quality of work and B quickest turnaround time. I waited on this review to see how it went, I did research on their competitors and it was an easy choice. The research was right and these guys and gals are the best. They did a cpu fan repair really quickly considering getting my obscure part, and the laptop runs better than ever.

Also right on a subway line so it's easy to get to. A++ recommend for any pc fix.

As well the price was right...They're not into ripping people off. Again A++.

Garbage garbage garbage! !!!!!

Garbage garbage garbage! !!!!!
I bought an acer liquid zest from Costco and after a month used it froze never open never shut down so I returned it to Costco and got a new one. Unfortunately the same problem happened after around 3 months but Costco refused to refund me because 3 months have passed so I had to call the acer customer service which was a catastrophe. I actually have right to refund my money back but this company is cheating, deceiving people. They refused to refund me and didn't offer any help although they know I am right.
Please don't buy any acer products or deal with the customer service at all. All acer is garbage garbage garbage. ......

I have owned my HP DV2000 since 2007. This laptop is known for over heating issues and other countless problems!
My laptop has been shutting down due to over heating. Besides heating issues, both hinges and front bezel broke and the screen won't hold up. I was seriously considering getting rid of this machine but thought to give it one last shot depending on repair costs.
After calling around few computer repair shops and getting estimates I found PCNix to be reasonably priced and tech person seemed very knowledgeable and friendly so I thought to give them a try.
Now it runs very cool and so far hasn't shutdown even once. They also replaced the hinges and the screen is just like new.
I was extremely satisfied with their work therefore called them again to help me setup a home network and once again they handled it like a pro!
Quality Service, strongly recommend this place to anyone.

This company saved me... i have a $3300 alienware laptop and when i was playing a game i started smelling burnt plastic, anybody who knows electronics knows you shouldn't ever be smelling that around computers. I realized shortly after my cat chewed a hole in my AC power adapter cord and it most likely fried my laptop. Well after calling DELL and them just trying to sell me a new computer instead of even attempting to fix this one. I wasn't prepared to spend that kind of money on a new laptop so after trying a number of things myself (including buying a new power pack) i luckily came across PCNix. I dropped it off on Wednesday and by Saturday i am sitting here typing this review to you on the very computer that was about to be a 3000 dollar paper weight. Thank you so much to the PCNix team, in particular Amir who was very keen on keeping me updated.

You have gotten a life long customer, and would recommend their services to anybody.

Avoid these people. I took my Sony VAIO laptop in 3 times for an overheating problem and each time the issue was not resolved. The first time they applied new thermal paste and the laptop was still shutting down, the 2nd time they don't me the wrong thermal paste was applied so a different type of paste was reapplied, the 3rd time I had the fan replaced and this was in Dec 2017. Well less than 1 year later, guess what, the laptop was still shutting down. I took my laptop to a different shop on Yonge and Finch, they opened up my laptop, took one look and told me that not only was the job poorly done, that they probably never had the fan replaced. Shoddy job and workmanship - my laptop was also scratched and scuffed when I got it back (there was a black guy there that did the work on the fan, avoid him at all cost!).

I had two laptops serviced at PCNix.
One required a fan replacement and the other an adapter replacement and internal cleaning.
The price was fair, the service was good, and the downtime was acceptable.
My overall experience was positive.
But most importantly, the laptops run perfectly now.
It has been several weeks and they are both still running fine.
If I have computer problems I cannot fix myself or do not want to attempt to fix myself,
I will gladly go to PCNix again.

I came in today for a simple battery replacement. Kareem immediately noticed that there was a significant bump area on my keyboard, and warned me that I probably had a swollen lithium battery, and explained the dangers of it. Sure enough, he opened up my laptop and showed me my defective old battery. The repair was smooth, cost was as agreed to and no upsell or surprises. Kareem is a pleasure to deal with and I highly recommend him and his workplace as a go to repair center.

PLEASE READ THIS, DUDES A SCAMMER. I'm at a loss for words. Biggest scam I've ever seen. Literally told the "tech" (Knows nothing) the problem being my bios corrupted and I'm pretty sure it corrupted my operating system causing boot loop. I asked if he could fix my problem, he said it would be 30 to diagnose it and if I'm right I'll need to get a new windows 10 key since I didn't have one witch is false if he made a bootable drive from a usb he could of recovered my OS by booting from the usb. so I go ahead and get it diagnosed to be told my gpu (graphics card) is fried. no problem took my pc home bought the new graphics card witch was almost 500$ (1060 strix) and it still boot looped.. I than proceeded to go spend another 115$ on a new windows 10 OS Popped the disk in and boom new os loaded no more boot loop. after getting the pc to boot I than tested my gpu to see if it was indeed fried, it was not at all it worked perfectly fine. I built this pc and I know quite abit about them and for him to even say a boot loop is caused by a graphics card is INSANE! it will A, not boot due to the power supply being to small for the card, or you will get it to boot with no signal. not a boot loop. all in all I spent over 600$ on something that wasn't needed at all but thankfully these fools only got 30$ off me!

My computer had no signal problem and they told me the problem has been fixed, but it crashed and had same problem again. I had to drop off my computer one more time and took another day to fix it. But once I checked up in my house, the problem happened again within 2 minutes. I just felt so annoying and decided to replace memory ram and the problem solved right away. It was waste my time and spend extra $125 for nothing, however I still give them 4 star. They have nice customer service.

I brought in my desktop computer because it was running slow and my son tablet witch had broken screen. Within hours of dropping off Kareem called me to tell me that he found a loose stick of RAM and that was all he could find wrong with the computer. He also gave me a price for the tablet screen repair and informed me that it would cost more to repair than the tablet was worth. Because of personal reasons I wanted to have the tablet repaired anyways. Two days later Kareem call saying my tablet was ready. Fair prices, great communication and amazing costumer service. Thank you, Kareem you are an absolute gentleman.

I have used PCNix three times now for issues over the past two years and each experience has been professional, reasonable and fixed in a timely manner. Amir (owner) is an expert on computer issues and I have benefited from his advice and high level of service, including earlier this month when my laptop picked up a virus. Amir had it fixed in less than 24 hours for just $60.00. PCNix has my loyalty and I am happy to recommend them to others in the GTA.

I went to PCNix because my laptop kept shutting down and randomly restarting. I had an exam that following week so I was desperate to get it fixed. I called in and went that same day. I spoke with the owner- Kareem and he reassured me that everything would be fixed before I had to do my exam. I got called the following day and was told that I could go pick up my laptop. Everything was running fine and smooth but a few days later, I began to see the same problem. I called in once more and told him I had the same problem and Kareem took it in and did a complete wipe on my laptop. Ever since then my laptop has been working just fine and I haven t had any issues with it. They provide great service and reassurance and professionalism.

I'm in the midde of grad school applications and prepping for exams for those applications, but I wanted to take the time to review this business. The screen to my Acer Netbook needed replacement (thanks to headphones being closed in on it) and I wanted a local shop that would do the job well, quickly, and affordably. PCNIX fit the bill. Not only did they fix my computer, but they also went beyond expectations by also doing an efficient dusting of the computer before I went. I hope I never need another repair, but if I do, I know where I'll be going!

Got my DC jack replaced because I hammered it in an odd angle and ended up bending the internal pin. The fixer conjured some weird postulation about overheating and pin damage on asus laptops because he didn't hear my story when I relayed it to the front desk guy, but that is besides the point.

Turn around time took about 2 weeks with the delivery of the jack.

On amazon, and where else it looks to be roughly $7-$18 for one of these.

The labor most likely doesn't take more than 2 hours, as I also had this operation done in waterloo for cheaper. I'd say they are pretty good with follow-ups on the phone. However, while I am willing to pay, I consider $150 very pricy for soldering a dc jack. I could see $40 inclusive for the jack and shipping and $75 for the labor/specialized skill for laptops.

Apparently, the prices vary by the type of laptop build or jack which I don't really know why since most modern ones basically have variational layouts with the same jack port there. I could see myself re-visiting if I had another pc problem, but only if it was urgent. If this was a $500 laptop, I would of said no thank you to the repair, so take it with a grain of salt.

Time will tell to see whether this new jack will last.

I dropped the laptop off June 30th being told that...

I dropped the laptop off June 30th being told that if I didn't get the repair done there all I would have to pay is the $35 diagnostic fee. They said they would get back to me in 1-2 days. Cool.

I get a call July 6 saying they HAD to fix the keyboard/mouse in order to proceed with the diagnostic and it'll be $125 for that. Yeah they completed a repair I never agreed to pay for and forced me to pay for it. In their mind they were courteous enough to reduce the bill to $100. I told them it would have made sense to consult me before deciding that I'd be ok with a $125 bill, they didn't feel it was necessary.

DC jack still needs repair. Laptop is supposed to be ready July 19 but I get a call on the 21st saying they got the part but its the wrong part and it'll be July29-Aug5 before its fixed. Great...they blame the courrier and the supplier, that's not my concern as I'm dealing with PCNIX. She said they will discuss some financial consideration as a result (after I asked for it of course, also offered a loaner).

On July 29, they call and say its ready and offer me a whopping 5% discount, which seems like nothing at all (amounted to $10). I asked for something more reasonable since they forced me to pay for something I didn't authorize and had numerous delays. She said manager will call.

Amir the manager calls me the next day and essentially says they already gave me a discount on the diagnostic fee. HUH? The diagnostic fee was to be waived automatically if I got the service done (funny enough when I went to pick up the laptop customer in front of me was told the same thing). Amir says that's not how it works and its on a case by case basis. BS. He then says I refused the loaner laptop which is $10 a day, I told him that does me no good cause I needed my files. He says he could have had my files on the laptop in a matter of minutes, I told him nobody told me that and he says I never gave them a chance to. Huh? Now to be clear I never hung up the phone on anyone or told anyone I don't want to hear it (I even told the rep that it's nothing personal and it's just business). When I was offered the loaner I said it doesn't work for me because it doesn't have my files, to which I was never told transferring them was a possibility.

In the end I found Amir condescending, inflexible, and didn't do anything to make the customer happy after numerous delays, a forced charge etc. He also made it sound like I was some kind of monster, but if the call was recorded I give full authorization to post the call online because I wasn't, frustrated sure, rude no (I did say BS to him once when he said the diagnostic fee is not automatically waived). He was definitely more concerned about himself than the customer (claiming he had to pay overtime etc, well then manage your employees better!).

Not going back and do not recommend. There are plenty out there with better, namely more honest service. I told him I'd be doing a review, he didn't care. By the way Judith the rep was always courteous, even if I disagreed with some points.

Also I now have some critical process error on windows that I never had before and it restarts every now and again....I doubt it's their doing but who knows..

Amir is the real deal.

Amir is the real deal.

My wife's PC went completely belly up at a particularly bad moment. Based on the glowing reviews, I called Amir. I described the problem and sent him a photo of the error screen. He immediately offered an assessment of the probable cause and the likely course of a "save the data" operation -- an assessment that proved more or less right on the money. Before the day (and my wife's deadline) was out, she had her machine back, with all files and programs available... no harm done.

I'm sure not all problems can be so quickly and happily resolved. Nonetheless, the fact that Amir so completely nailed this one, and was so ready to try to meet my wife's need for urgent turnaround, gives me real confidence in him and his service. I'd recommend him as your first call if you're having PC challenges.

Kareem and the rest of PCNix crew are worth the distance and your pocket! I had previously used their services in 2015, and I regret not returning when my Sony S Series laptop's hard drive had died. In my desperation, I decided to jump the gun and take my laptop to another location...

My biggest mistake was to taken my laptop to some thief in Kensington Market (because going by Google Reviews), who claimed to be able to be able to fix my Sony, which was a bold face lie. The thief stole my money, $1209, and left me with laptop that didn't work.

I asked them to repair a broken part of my laptop ...

I asked them to repair a broken part of my laptop and they charged me an amount equal to a 3rd of the total cost of my laptop. That's not the problem though, for all I know that could be a fair price, improbable as it sounds. My main issue is they didn't properly fix the other issue my laptop had.

I specifically asked them to replace a broken down-arrow key on my keyboard and when I got my computer back everything seemed fine and I even praised them for fixing the key, but by the time I got home the key had fallen off again. How they had "fixed" the problem is just jammed the key back into place, not realizing (or not caring) that the actual part of the key that keeps it in place had snapped. It was done in a way that it looked like it had been repaired at a glance but nothing was actually fixed.

I wasn't going to leave this review at first because I was able to somehow keep using my keyboard by pressing the little stud where the key was but that stud has since broken off and I will likely have to take my computer in for repairs again if I ever want a working keyboard.

I took an old laptop in for service over a year ago and was impressed with the honest knowledge the owner Amir was willing to share. The old laptop would have been salvageable, however, it was outdated with virus susceptibility and further hard drive issues.

Amir showed me some alternate laptops for purchase and was brutally honest when it came to how one performs against the other. One laptop in particular, he flat out told me not to invest in because of the host of problems people encounter while using it. He even dissuaded purchasing a higher priced computer in favour of the one I use to this day. So far my new computer has performed as he said it would, the only issues to date have been warranty items such as the keyboard sticking and battery indicator. They honoured their warranty with no questions asked and I have nothing but good things to say about this company. I highly recommend PC Nix.

I chose to go to PCNix because I saw that they had...

I chose to go to PCNix because I saw that they had good reviews and good prices. However, my experience with them was beyond awful (Last paragraph is the summary). They charged me $35 to check my computer for the problem (corrupted hard drive) and offered to do the installation for the hard drive for $90 (which I refused and did on my own. This is important for later). ----[1]
I needed the data from my old hard drive so I asked them to do the data recovery for $75. Again these prices are good and up to this point I was satisfied (Although dealing with Amir was quite annoying as he never provided enough information and caused us to take a trip to their location a few too many times).
They told me that they only needed my new, installed hard drive and my corrupted one for the recovery so I brought it in (Again important for later). ----[2]

The real problem started after they were done with the recovery and I picked up my old and new hard drives from their location. I took my hard drive home, plugged it into my computer and turned it on. My data was not there, it was exactly as I had given it to them so I contacted them. After hours of talking to and arguing with Amir, he agreed to do a check on my computer to see what happened to my missing data. He also agreed that this check-up would be free of charge (he later tried to make me pay for this check-up as well but I refused).

After the check on my computer he concluded that he had NO idea what happened to my data and he also mentioned that he checked his logs to see if he put my data to a wrong hard drive and mentioned it said NOTHING on there about my hard drive.
At this point I'm talking to Amir at their store with my mom and we're both pretty upset because we spent about a week dealing with them, going back and forth from their store maybe about 5 times. I requested for a refund explaining that I paid for my data to be recovered which they thought they could handle but something on their side went wrong and my data is not there. Amir chuckles at me and my mom saying "your funny stories", implying that were making this up for our money back. Amir proceeds to tell me that because [refer back to 1] I didn't let them do the installation of my hard drive and that [refer back to 2] I didn't bring in my computer as well as the hard drives, its MY fault that the data is missing. At this point I tell Amir that he NEVER asked me to bring in my computer, and that if he had, I would have gladly brought it in since I went to their location 5 times already. Going there again to make it 6 wouldn't have been a problem. Amir refuses to listen and doesn't give me a refund.

To summarize, something went wrong with my data recovery. Amir blamed me at every chance he could get claiming that it was my fault. He has no idea what happened to the data and he has no proof that he did the recovery (I dont like assuming the worst of people but he had no trouble assuming that I was lying about everything). He dismissed my explanation of what happened by chuckling at me and my mom when we were upset acting as if we were lying about everything. In total, I payed about $125 dollars and gave them about a week of my time (and a week without a computer is pretty big for someone like me) and I got NOTHING in return other than Amir's horrible attitude. I did not get a refund, or even an apology.
All in all, I would NOT recommend PCNix and if you do go there PLEASE make sure that everything is done right before paying them. Don't make the same mistake I made.

I found this computer repair near me and after reading many reviews I decided to give them a chance. I have a very expensive HP Spectre 13 and I needed laptop screen repair work done. tony was super nice and he kept me updated along the way.

I expected my repair to be expensive because it s a unibody super slim laptop but the good service makes up for the cost of owning an expensive piece of jewel.

Repair took a few days because screen had to be ordered in. Overall I m very satisfied with the outcome and quality of work.

Amir really knows his stuff. Got my laptop screen replaced there. The price was a little steep in my opinion, but they do a really good job. However, Amir said that he would be able to repair my laptop in 1 business day. So, they gave me a 1 day ETA. But, they called saying that they did not get in contact with their supplier. I brushed it off my shoulder and said okay. A few days later, they called me again and said that the laptop would not be ready as expected since their supplier already left for the labour day long weekend and they would get the screen by tuesday. So, I waited over a week for my laptop screen to be repaired, which was WAY past the 1 day ETA. I know that it was close to the long weekend and all. But make a reasonable estimate for ETA.

They took two months to fix my computer. One part was on back order and they didn't order it until I called them to ask what was taking so long. They told me they could order the part but it would cost more. I let them fix it. However I am not a 100% sure the part was replaced. They fixed a hinge but it was still missing a part, Might want to be careful with this company.

My Toshiba Satellite would only charge when the power cord was bent the right way. Within 10 minutes of coming into the shop, they told me what was wrong with it. In less than 24 hours, they had changed the DC jack and cleaned the inside of my laptop. Very fair price, which I find important as a student. Will be going here for all of my computer-related needs.

Pretty professional and neat. Had a great first impression with very organized repair stations.

Got a entirely damaged touchscreen replaced here effortlessly. On taking back laptop, the screen was protruding and I thought it was normal. Only issue was that a few weeks into it, the screen touch went off and screen also started plucking out a little. On dropping back laptop, I was told that I said I dropped it and damaged it. I never did. They did diagnosis and said it had more damages which I disagree. They just taped back screen to the body.

Not leaving a totally bad review. There are things I appreciate and still do as said in first part of this review. This might be one off compared to other good reviews that landed me there and I might give it one more try it need arises, in future.

Dont know how this guys work with different computer problems, but my experience with restore files from hard drive was bad. After checked my hard drive at 2 different places people told me that it can be restored on level 1 (without opening HD, which one level 2 and can cost crazy money). So PCNix was the third place, to whom I came, because this guys told me that maximum for 150$ (it was 100$ and 160$ cheeper then first 2 companies) , they can restore stuff from 1 level, but they need deposit 85$ for labor to check it. So how you can imagine, after I left my HD at them, next day guy called me and told that nothing possible to do with data and they can just offer to try 2 level with opening HD, which on starts from 900$ at their place. So I lost my 85$ for nothing... You can decide by yourself who lied to me, first 2 companies or these guys.
Good luck with your electronics.

I came to Kareem with a fan just going crazy: whooshing sounds in a cyclical pattern, sudden 100% CPU and disk usage, core elements not overheating according to any diagnostic software used, sudden major slow-downs and the laptop unpredictably bugging out despite an i7 processor. Kareem diagnosed and fixed it fast, and even helped me on a follow-up issue with great professionalism, skill, and politeness. It's a bit of a drive for me to get to PCNix, but I don't think I'm going anywhere else from now on. FINALLY somewhere reliable and trustworthy to assist with my tech issues, where you're really listened to as a client, things are double-checked so you don't have to return a million times, and it's just easy as well as pleasant. If had had ten thumbs, they'd all be up.
