So far my second quarter here. Previously went to Bellevue Community College. Very impressed with the staff overall so far. The Financial Aid dept at Cascade was clearly understaffed when I dropped by because she couldn't promise me that she'd process the paperwork in time for me to not get dropped. That said, they got it done, and all is well.
Instruction wise, I've had mostly STELLAR instructors. Bevin Kair, and Kimberly Neuberger have both been good math instructors, Kimberly moreso on the amazing scale. Cynthia Kimball is an amazing Writing 121 teacher that will really make you learn and think, no matter what your writing level is entering the class. That said, this quarter I have my first lame instructor, Russ Erdman. He's not bad, just not as highly educated about his subject matter as others. Also, the CIS 120 book is dreadfully out of date.
Good classes but the building feels like a concrete jail.
Beautiful campus for relaxing and studying in. Quite atmosphere and well designed spaces both inside and out.
Don t be deceived by the pretty campus . These ppl dont care about you , they have too many students to care
We were in a networking group that met in the same room at the same time for 4-5 years no problem until a new person took over the room rentals, then without notice all of us received parking tickets, then the staff repeatedly interrupted our group and told us to get out they had other people in the space even though we paid for it. They cut the room size in half during a meeting. The person in control of the room rentals is not easy to work with and her staff is poorly trained
Professors are so ideologically extreme they spend more time proselytizing than teaching. If you want a chance at a decent job dont come here.
Everyone class is free online. Don't pay. Let Chinese kids get degrees they can't use internet for schooling. China don't allow them to look up info online only foreign exchange it.
I struggled with passing classes for a few terms here due to a physical disability that causes me alot of pain. This school actually tried to charge me for these terms--despite me having a legitimate medical reason and having to dropout early because of it. the main FAFSA manager at the school went so far as to suspend my FAFSA...which I told the school was a form of ableist discrimination. Spend your money elsewhere. This school does every tactic to imbibe your money while providing subpar education in return. They barely care for students, especially students with disabilities. Avoid.
It is a nice school to go to. They have a lot of support for the students.
Meatless mondays in the cafeteria with ample vegan and vegetarian options. Not sure if other pcc campuses have this as well.
Christians at PCC Beware! Modern Art History since 1945' (Art 213) they 'studied' at length a photo of a plastic crucifix in ... urine. We walked out. So offensive! Would they put the Koran in urine for a photo? Or Buddha ? How about an image of Mohamed? PLEASE... In what world is this OK???
Love going to school here staff's very helpful and the teacher's are amazing.
Ever since using the parking pay station at PCC Sylvania I have been receiving fraudulent activity on my account. Use Caution/Cash
Started my 4 year degree here. Staff is mostly good plus or minus a couple teachers that don't seem to care too much. Campus is in nice condition for how old it is. Parking is horrible but passes are still way cheaper than PSU. Great place to start a degree and save a considerable about of money.
Great school but not great at picking up the phone or answering emails. Been trying to get ahold of PCC for 2 months now and people send me to a email that I try to email and no answer or they don t pick up.
Taking classes on such a beautiful campus is a treat. After I was done with my formal education there, I continue to return for personal interest classes.
Oh my god, the instructors, security and representative are very rude, especially from the Women resource centre
Wonderful experience here but, decades ago. Beautiful campus. Premier Community College in Oregon.
This school definitely needs more student support. I feel as though each school should strive to make sure that hardworking and deserving students receive a proper education. I am a transfer student from OSU, and I realized that I did not have enough money to attend OSU as I am having to pay tuition all by myself, and the child support I was supposed to have did not go through. I did everything correct- got in, went through the process of showing my prerequisites, and registered for the classes. I HAVE to wait for my financial aid to go through before I can pay. I literally cannot pay in full without financial aid. Why are they so quick to remove you and delete your classes when you haven t paid before the term starts? Oregon state isn t even like this. It didn t tell me how to get on a payment plan, it just told me that payments were due immediately and deleted my classes. Financial aid said it would take a couple days to process but once it went through I could pay, when that is not the reality. I implore PCC to please take in consideration people s financial situations, and have a little bit of empathy. These are humans, people, just out of highschool and just beginning to manage the real world. People have financial struggles, and while I can pay everything in full, I am also working, saving money, and would need a payment plan. I find it a little bit ridiculous to have everything needed to be paid before the term starts. It is not allowing people who are financially suffering to succeed. I need to be enrolled in school to receive child support, and I need that child support to help me pay for college and to help me in general. Now I have nothing. PCC was my last hope. Thanks for taking that away from me.
Used to be a good place for getting an education, now it's filled with snowflakes, safe spaces, and participation trophies.
You should lose all your funding. You fight hate with hate? Ignorance at its best
2 years ago I start going back to school and they said first week I don't have to pay it's ok but when my first day in class teacher was so rude and she starts talkin about money and she was so so rude I forgot her name and she's made me feel bad on the day and I didn't go school but right now I will like to go and start again but I feel shy because of her
Not bad, but need lighten up on persecuting vapers!
It would be wonderful if they actually contacted you within a timely manner. If you're looking for a college that actually gets in contact with potential students, look elsewhere.
In planning on attend this school in the fall. However every time I visit any of the campuses I an greeted with professionals who care and love the school and students. I can't wait to start college.
My PCC experience has been great. However, one of my teachers made it stressful because I always tried to email him and ask for help but he never replied which made it complicated for me to speak to him in person so I had to drop the class because I would of failed. Some teachers make no sense while teaching.
I've started my study this year and like it so far.
I went here many years ago and it was by far one of the nicest campuses i been to. Friendly people and staff.
My American experience began here. It can be boring for new students but it s cheaper then many educational schools in Portland and has high quality education. So it s a good place for you if you are looking for education only but not for fun.
Hello,
I would like to rid the comments of the supposed racism that lays in this school. I have been able to work with all nationalities without a signal person telling me they feel discriminated against. Moreover, I came to this school, of Asian desent, and never once found myself descriminated against. However, there will be racism in all parts of the world, and the people that are looking for the bad will find the bad. I have had many teachers that have guided me to build an open perspective. With this new found perspective, I have been able to accomplish all of my goals with or without the leadership of their councilors because I have found the ability to rely on myself and not others. I do not know the people that have left nasty comments, but throughout my life, those who have cast blame on others are usually guilty to some degree. Give the school a chance because every experience can be looked at with a brighter side, and this school has given me a bright experience that I'll never forget.

This is the campus where I am earning my education. Friendly, helpful people are just around each and every corner! Thank you!
The South East center has very limited parking. They have 2 over-flow lots that are "closed" after 5pm. I have a 6pm class. There is absolutely no-where to park at 6pm. They gave me a $40 ticket for being in over-flow after 5pm. They will ticket me for parking on the street or the neighborhood. They waited till I can't drop for a refund to start ticketing. Ie I didnt notice I couldnt park in a campus lot after 5pm, when they have 6pm classes. Very sketchy PCC, very sketchy. I am very angry about this.
Do not attempt to attend this school during COVID-19. Isn t functioning well currently.
I meant to post for rock creek, I haven t attended Sylvania
This school is joke. I don't even have anything to say. Read the other reviews. This school will go out of its way to make you feel like you're unwelcome.
Dump place. They mess up my file Make me Not be able to register classes, and all the classes are full after they fix it. Dump place Dump people
Well-kept campus. Helpful staff and friendly instructors. Overall great place to meet people, learn, and grow.
Terrible. The advisors are uneducated and talk in circles and always refer you to someone else who has even less of a clue than they do. The instructors are unorganized and disrespectful. You might as well attend a different school because you won't learn anything here.
I had written a formal complaint about an instructor closing an online assignment before it's due date without notifying her students and ignoring an email I had written to her about. The Chairman of the Math Dept claimed that she was in reason to do so and that I was being unreasonable about it. My main concern was that I had to talk to the Chairman to even get a response instead of my instructor just emailing me back. My instructor told the chairman that the assignment was open, which is not true because even when I called IT, they told me the assignment was closed. This entire school system is a joke. They are unwilling to help their students and are disrespectful to them. I will never attend this school again.
Don't waste your time or money here. They don't care about you.
freshmen still learning it's a good community college lots of resources
Nice school. I have taken about 15 classes so far and have encountered nothing but nice professors and fellow students. The new LED lights around campus are nice!
great place for parking citations, apparently I'm not paying enough tuition.
Loved it. Great teachers, good glasses with flexible schedules.
Never been treated so low when I'm trying to better myself. Countless friends have lost money due to their ignorant advisors and staff.
This place sucks, I hate it, the grass outside the front of the building had a bald spot. If you want to gain reviewers than fix your grass. I also hate the health in PCC because I saw an ant in the corner behind the trash can. Also everyone was polite and nice to us. I hate polite and nice people. Also I dont like the number 0 and the adress is 12000, and thats too many 0's.
If you want to get mocked, or laughed at by faculty, or students put into faculty positions, this is the school for you! Since PSU turned me down, I guess I'll have to quit my full time job, and move just for any form of higher education. Since the website claims to be the largest in Oregon state for higher education...looks like Oregon isn't the place for me to better myself. To top it all off, I tried to call and talk to them about why there was no way to apply for spring and summer 2016, but I could apply for winter 2016. So I can't apply for any courses that are upcoming, but I can apply for a quarter that's done and over with? These guys are an absolute joke. What do they call November and December? Fall months, or does each year have 2 winter quarters? How would that even work?
Less expensive than a four year institute. I would have given it but you can't get coffee before 8am.
Worst schooling system in the whole world,,
They lost my high school diploma:)
And now I have to take the GED to go to the new school.
Went to check this campus out......I was shocked. The Racial Overtones (of all races) is way too much for me to approve MY Children attending. As far as I am concerned, it would be better for my children NOT to attend college then attend a College where the Professors and Staff are so very Racist (in regards to all races) in all educational and personal aspects.
I do not see color in people. I see how I am treated by people. As do my children. I will NOT allow today's version of Racism to indoctrinate my children as to how to treat people because of their color.
Please do NOT allow your children to attend this school. Racism is the ONLY theme that is taught there.
There are better educational institutions out there. Money vultures.
This is a very nice and clean campus. Parking is $5 if you are planning of staying for more than half of an hour. The staff is also very helpful and friendly.
Throughout my educational career I have attended a number of different colleges, and this was by far the worst school I haven ever worked with. Terrible organization and communication. No one seems to want to help you, or even know how to perform their own job. Financial aid, student resources, registrars office, and even the professors couldn't find the right attitude to aid in providing a pleasant experience.
Please do not proceed to waste your time with this school. I ended up pulling out of my classes before the end of the first week. I have never been treated with such disrespect and I know am not the only one feeling this way. A number of students I spoke with all had the same to say about this school.
Basically a HUGE mistake.
Lastly, if the staff doesn't make you want to kill yourself the parking situation will.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!
They have horrible customer service. They only care about the staff, not the students.
needs cell coverage for verizone and a beatiful cmapus
Watch out for the parking lot attendances as they do not carefully inspect the window for display of permits. If you get a ticket from them and fail to appeal they believe it is awesome to raise the price of the ticket by double the fine issued.
Advisors are super friendly and very helpful. Lots of parking and great professors as well.
The campus itself is beautiful and a great working environment. The library has a lot of work spaces that suit nearly everyone. Even on the busiest of days I could always find a good spot. Walkways and courtyards feel spacious and connected to nature.
