About Pause - creating space for change
Pause - Creating Space for Change: An Innovative Approach to Supporting Women
Pause is an innovative, dynamic and creative approach designed to address the needs of women who have had multiple children removed from their care. The program aims to provide a safe and supportive environment where women can take time out from their everyday lives, reflect on their experiences, and develop new skills and strategies for coping with the challenges they face.
At Pause, we understand that many women who have had children removed from their care have experienced trauma, abuse or neglect in their own lives. We believe that by creating a space where these women can feel heard, valued and supported, we can help them to break the cycle of repeat removals and build brighter futures for themselves and their families.
Our approach is based on a deep understanding of the complex issues facing vulnerable families. We work closely with local authorities, social workers and other professionals to identify women who are at risk of having children removed from their care again. Once identified, we offer them a range of services tailored to meet their individual needs.
These services include one-to-one support sessions with trained Pause Practitioners; group workshops focused on topics such as parenting skills, emotional wellbeing or financial management; access to specialist therapies such as counselling or art therapy; practical support with housing or employment issues; and much more.
One key aspect of our approach is our use of 'pauses' - short breaks in which women can step back from the stresses of daily life and focus on themselves. These pauses might involve taking part in creative activities such as painting or writing poetry; going for walks in nature; attending yoga classes or mindfulness sessions; or simply spending time chatting with other participants over tea or coffee.
We believe that these pauses are essential for helping women to build resilience, develop new coping strategies and gain perspective on their lives. By taking time out from everyday pressures they are able to reflect on what has happened in the past without being overwhelmed by it, and to start planning for a brighter future.
At Pause, we are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where women can feel heard, valued and respected. We believe that every woman has the potential to make positive changes in her life, no matter what challenges she has faced in the past. By working together with our participants, we aim to create lasting change that benefits not only them but also their families and communities.
