Expensive but amazing food. Seriously delicious. Had all three courses and didn't feel stuffed when we left just perfectly satiated. Staff are attentive and knowledgeable. Love the atmosphere of the converted old house. If you call ahead they can cater for any diet preferences. Really recommend. We had lunch in mid December and only a few covers in, but we suspect that in the summer there would be a long waiting list. Enjoy!

Our second visit, but the first an anniversary treat was 4 years ago, and expectations were high.

Arriving slightly early, and were shown to the bar on the first floor, in this swish area, where we had our meal in the past, this is a comfortable and attractive bar, with a very good barman who was happy to talk us through the wine list.

Nice menu, where you build your own tasting menu, three choices for each of the starter, second courses, and five options on the main, four for the deserts, if you choose the fairground (more later) there is a separate menu to ensure you can understand the options that will be delivered.

First - Crapaudine beetroot for my partner, I went for cod. Each were attractively presented and very tasty. Then a additional course, today s scone, a cheese scone with seaweed butter, surprisingly tasty especially the butter. Second - smoked haddock quiche Lorraine, nothing like a quiche and an interesting experience, my partner had the red onion tart, different from the one on the menu to take account of my wife s allergy to Soya. This had been prepared in advance and on the chance that she would choose this option. Inspired! Mains. Chicken tournedos Rossini for her and monkfish risotto which was simply outstanding, the risotto was brilliant and nothing like I have had before. My wife was slightly disappointed with the chicken which she just did not like. The staff offered to replace this with something else, but she chose not to replace the course. Then another extra course yesterday s scone, this was ground up to a consistence of breadcrumbs and the with a number of different sugars added, and roasted - really interesting experience.

This was all washed down with a reasonably priced white wine and finished with fresh mint tea.The experience did not finish there, as we were leaving we were invited to have a chat with the kitchen team including the head chef who was friendly and happy to chat to us and talk about the food .

An experience to savour and enjoy this is truly a special place with a special team at the helm

My husband and I came here on our honeymoon and it was incredible. The food was out of this world, every course totally delicious- the wine and cocktails were pretty amazing too! The staff were so friendly and lovely, coming to congratulate us on our marriage. It made for a really special experience and I would highly recommend a visit to anyone considering it! Thank you!

What a place! Came here as a suprise for my Birthday. The bar area was really lovely and the restaurant equally as nice! The staff couldnt be more helpful and pleasant. The Italian waitress in particular was super friendly and clearly took pride in everything she did. At the end of the meal we were invited to speak with the chefs and found that one of them was from the same town as me back in Kent - he recommended some restaurants back home which was great! I even got a Birthday card from the team! The food here is amazing!!!! I can't wait to return, we've visited a number of michellin star restaurants already this year and this one by far is my favourite!

Truly impeccable service and food that was beyond our expectations. A wonderful way to spend our anniversary. Everything was presented beautifully and the quality stunning. Definitely recommend the scallop and All of the Duck. Do not be afraid of the liver! It was one of the best tasting things. Props to the bar man making the best old fashioneds we have ever drunk! And delicious wine choices complimenting the meal.

Every dish was presented well and it was a delightful experience to have my Birthday dinner here. We flew from London Saturday afternoon and back to London tomorrow and it was worth the trip. Looking forward to having another meal at Paul Ainsworth. Certainly deserves more than one Michelin star.

Located in the heart of Padstow, Number 6 is a small and exceptionally stylish restaurant with a friendly and informative team serving excellent modern British dishes. It proves that there is more to Padstow than Rick Stein and is highly recommended. Love to dine here again in the future.

Excellent service from every member of the team but just want to give a huge thank you to Liam for your expert guidance on some wonderful wines. Was great to meet Chris too and will be willing you on to get a dish to the banquet this year.
Thank you all so much for finally helping make our 10th wedding anniversary special

The whole experience was delightful from the courtesy call to confirm, through to the chat waiting for the taxi at the end of the night. The staff are not only well trained and knowledgeable but also personalise the service so that it doesn't feel formulaic.
The food was exquisite and precisely prepared. We had the hogget and monkfish followed by the fairground pudding which is a 3 course meal of its own. To be able to drink fine wine such as puligny monrachet by the glass is a joy.
Thank you to Paul and his teams (we also tried Rojanos and the Mariners) we will return and would recommend these restaurants to anyone.

A first class dining experience from start to finish. We went to celebrate our anniversary and the team there wrote us a card which was a nice touch! All the food was exceptional - the menu consisted of 4 courses with a few choices for each as well as a few extra surprises in between. The service, including a knowledgeable sommelier, was all very friendly and informative. We can't wait to return!

Amazing, amazing, amazing. Service outstanding, India and Oscar were attentive and professional, we were a table of 9 in the private dining room, celebrating a 70th Birthday, nothing was too much trouble and even the chef's came to say hello. Everyone should experience this restaurant once in their life, start saving but believe me it was so worth it. Saving for the next visit.

The standout restaurant in Padstow. Would be a standout anywhere for that matter. The food is to die for and the atmosphere elegant yet relaxed. Paul has a wonderful front of house team; friendly, attentive but not intrusive and clearly excited about the menu and their restaurant. Can't recommend enough.

Mum was over from Spain and decided she liked to visit No6 after seeing Paul on The Great British Menu.
We visited on a Saturday evening and had the pleasure of bumping into Paul in the street whilst walking around Padstow. He's so lovely, charming, happy and enthusiastic.
On his return to the restaurant he told his staff to expect a couple from Spain and we were impressed at the friendliness of everyone who served us. There is nothing I could fault about our evening.
The staff in particular clearly love working for Paul and share his enthusiasm for making the dining experience more than just the food, but a friendly place to eat. Clearly everyone knew their menu and could recommend wines. Very impressed that the bread at the start included a gluten free option for my husband.
Would we go again? Roll on next June when it's my birthday!

We were there Easter weekend and the amount of loud obnoxious tourists we were sat next to made the atmosphere poor. Maybe inevitable during Easter in Cornwall. Food good of course. Crazy expensive wine.

As one would expect, excellent food & service. My shellfish allergy was superbly dealt with - I had a wonderful cheesy 'jammie dodger' as an appetiser instead of a battered oyster. Just 2 small gripes: it would have been nice to have been offered more of the delicious sourdough bread & my main of duck needed something else.....some potatoes or noodles, perhaps?
