Absolutely fantastic night at No 6. By far the best restaurant I have ever been to. You get what you pay for, but everything about our night out was excellent. The attention to detail, the theatre of the service and very friendly too. The food was outstanding, as one would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant.

Amazing.. the set lunch is not to be missed. Lucky enough to get a table watching the chef's at work, even Paul himself. The waiting staff were efficient and really friendly. A fantastic birthday afternoon.

I enjoyed the upstairs bar for our aperitifs as much as the meal itself, do make time for it. A warm yet elegant decor.
Not my first trip to this restaurant and will fail to be my last. The food remains rich in texture and detail, service is unpompous, palettes are repeatedly happy and mood upon departure is merry. Long may Paul reign.

Excellent fine dining experience in contemporary and comfortable environment. Very professional and friendly staff. This is what fine dining should be....quality ingredients, sympathetically treated without losing a sense of fun and theatre. Superb.

Our son 'treated' my husband and I to a meal here for our Golden wedding anniversary and what an incredible meal we had! Every mouthful was an adventure in exquisite taste. The food was truly amazing and the attention lavished on us by the staff was unbelievable! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening - we will definitely return.

Absolutely beautiful 4 course meal with complimentary "Welcome to Cornwall" supplements between some courses.
Proper, spot on service and a lovely atmosphere to go with some of the best food I've ever tasted. Compliments to Paul Ainsworth and Chris McClurg, as well as the rest of the team at Number 6!

Absolutely superb, couldn't fault a single aspect - food, drinks, service, atmosphere (even with the Covid measures). Exquisite dining experience with innovative, delicious dishes and just the right amount of theatre. Pace of service was just right and we ended up having a longer and more relaxed lunch than anticipated, but that was probably because we didn't want the experience to end.

Visited for my girlfriends 30th Birthday meal. There was a lovely card waiting for her when we arrived. The service was brilliant (friendly staff makes all the difference) and the food on the a la carte menu was fantastic. We had a great cocktail upstairs after the meal. Coupled with the fact it s in Padstow, it s pretty dreamy! Perfect for any special occasion.

We had the rib of beef to share here with raw scallop to start and trifle and puff pastry for desert. The food was some of the best we've eaten the service although it was OK was not what you get in Michelin Stared restaurant in London. Still worth 5 stars though as overall for us its about food which was spot on.

What a shame that a chef like Paul Ainsworth NEED to do TV shows and write cooking books because of money and greed instead of just cooking as he is trained for but I guess he is just too LAZY for doing that

Reluctant to say how good this place is as it will just make it too hard to book a table! Outstanding food and service, good selection of wines, cosy little place. Hope to go back again someday.

I took my mum for her 60th just over a year ago.The staff were extremely welcoming, warm and helpful. They had written her a birthday card which was a lovely little touch. The food was immense, I had scallops for starters and duck for main. Mum had the fairground desert and simply ....WOW. If I didn t live 6 hour drive from Padstow I d eat there on a monthly basis.

Brilliant. My partner and I went for my brithday and we were deeply impressed. Service was immaculate and food was beautiful. Managed to get pictures of everything except for the two scone dishes (the caramelized butter was delicious I would love a recipe) and the dessert. We had the fairground inspired dessert and it was so good it disappeared before I thought about taking a picture. Deserves all the Parise it has gotten over the years. My first time dining at one of Paul's establishments but I would definitely return and highly recommend. Many thanks.

Have wanted to try this restaurant for some time. We have just had a splendid lunch there. There are 2 menus. A set lunch and al a carte menu. We went for the al a carte .
Excellent knowledgeable service. Good food selection and interesting wine list.
London prices and London service. The kitchen is visible from most seats and shows how professional the team are.
We went on a Tuesday lunch time and the restaurant was full. You must book and I would suggest quite a way in advance.
Parking can be a problem. You will have to use one of the nearby public car parks.
All in all an excellent experience to be repeated.

Never fails to impress. Everytime we go here we know the food is going to be good and delicious but we are always reminded of the effort that goes into making this a must try place to eat. The set lunch is a excellent way to get a taste of what they do at a very reasonable price.

Thank you very much to the whole team... they go out of their way to make your visit truly special.
We received complimentary specials... much appreciated.

We went to no 6 for my wifes' 50 birthday and were not disappointed. We arrived and were shown to our table where we found a birthday card and hand written too which was a nice touch . Service was excellent which you would expect in this calibre of restaurant and the food more than lived up to its reputation. We were given an amouse bouche of a deep fried oyster . For starters I had the raw bream and my wife had the pigs head fritter both of which were excellent . We had hogget and fish for main courses and for dessert my wife had the apple pie (which came with a blue cheese, amazing !) . And I had the puff pastry . All the food was fantastic . They wine list was quite extensive and the staff were very helpful giving advice on wine choice. All in all a fantastic experience. Keep an eye out for the art work on the walls and the bar upstairs is a nice place to relax with an after dinner drink .

Superb. 5/5 for service, 5/5 for food - great experience and well worth the visit. Paul Ainsworth has a real gem here in padstow. The dishes are refined and deconstructed from classic combinations. For example, the quiche lorraine to start and the most amazing rib of beef as a main. For desert I highly recommend the cheese - apple tarte tatin with a wedge of barkham blue (the best blue cheese I have tasted) on the side, in addition to a small glass of cider. Number 6 have a very talented head chef and senior sous chef, and paul ainsworth has created a menu where every dish is something that makes you think 'I really want to eat that'. To top it off, the service is impeccable. All the staff know every detail about each dish and are incredibly hospitable and friendly. This was a truly great experience and I recommend it to anyone who visits Cornwall. Well done to Paul for creating this absolute treasure and thank you to all the staff for a wonderful evening.

This is the level that other restaurants need to try to get to
From when we walked in to the time or coats were handed to as we left the service was spectacular. So many staff all making sure you had everything you needed.
Food was sublime
Each course beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Have been to a few Michelin star restaurants and this is up there with the best of them
Stein set the bar, Ainsworth just notched it up considerably

Lynn&Mark Phillips.... This place is incredible, I can honestly say its the best food we have ever eaten(and we have eaten in many high end places incuding dubai). The staff were out standing and each dish came with a new element of surprise. Paul Ainsworth you have truly hit the pinnacle of what high end food is all about. Thank you for an amazing evening.

Please keep in mind that Paul is a *star chef so for us this was equivalent to a night out meal that we couldn t have with children on holiday.

We were a little apprehensive to go to a nice restaurant for lunch with 2x8 year olds, but we thought we would give it a go. The head waiter made every effort to be more then welcoming. One of my boys asked for chips with his fish goujons and even though it wasn t on the menu they managed to oblige and wip some up to keep him happy.

The lunch menu was fantastic and we felt like we had the same quality the one would expect for a top notch evening dinner at what we thought was great value for the quality of food.

We couldn t recommend this place highly enough! The wine recommends are a must, and the chocolate treats that came with our coffee just finished the experience off nicely.

I was expecting a lot more when visiting last weekend. The atmosphere in the restaurant reminded me of a canteen, very echoey with no music although the decor was nice. The food itself was a little plain, the monkfish was pleasant enough, the Dover sole pretty bland. The service was ok but not great. Overall feel a little cheated considering the pricing.
