It is a very nice and picturesque place where you have to pay the entrance and you can not access the middle of the complex because it is reserved for a wedding

Visited this place in July 2019 and so glad we did! It s *such* a pretty place to visit. The palace is spectacular with gorgeous gothic / moorish architecture and some pretty tiling. To get there you have to do a pretty epic walk through the gardens. We did what was called the accessible route - however it was a very steep decline and I found it quite difficult. Worth it once we got to the palace though.

The palace is absolutely gorgeous and impressive !!! And the garden is something unseen bravo to them that they knew how to recondition the palace in time. You must see it and admire the wonders of the garden and the architecture of the palace!

Surprising in its sumptuous, elegant, and cozy beauty, crafted in layers of detail harmoniously superimposed on its architecture, snuggling the look of the interior, richly decorated, or up in its grandiose cupolas in detail, sometimes leading us to look through passages, and carved windows, framing the landscapes of your gardens !! Gorgeous!!

Very nice site to visit, especially in Spring/summer, when the gardens and roses are in bloom. Could be much more interesting if the furniture was there.

Perfect place to avoid crowds while enjoying yourself in the nature and historical architectures

It was a pleasant surprise to visit the Monserrate Palace. The gardens are well maintained and are in the style of Sintra's Romantic gardens. The palace itself is being restored but is already very good for a visit.
There is a coffee maker and a small gift shop.
The whole environment is very pleasant.

In Monserrate Palace, as well as in many other places, more attention should be paid to the training of people in the area of public relations ... A must stop place. Worth the 8 ticket. The gardens are beautiful and relaxing. With contrasts between the exotic and the most common in Portugal. The palace is of unparalleled beauty. Look at the pictures, there's not much more to say. Impressive architecture and details.

Palace is stunning but lacked atmosphere being completely empty. Beautiful plaster work and ceilings and gardens were amazing. Lots of walking but there is a buggy to bring you back to Gates at a cost of 2.50 euros. Worth it tho.

I loved the visit it was short but I have to go back there. I went to a baby party at the palace and found it a blast. The garden around has a lot to see, it will be a really well spent day

Beautiful building it s great gardens to explore. This is my top pick to explore in Sintra. The cost was approximately 15 per/person and it was well worth the money. The details in every room is incredible and the history of the home was very interesting. A must see during your trip!

The detail is absolutely beutifull I a huge 5 hectares garden. Well kept and clean a welcome retreat from the busy Sintra about 3 km walk

It might not be as famous as its' neighbour (Pena Palace) but if you have time it worths a visit. The garden is even better than the one in Pena. There are not so many people (I visited in March) and no queue at all. There is small cafeteria that serves simple but nice food.

Beautiful place, I found one of the most beautiful in Sintra! It's worth separating an afternoon to spend on the spot.

I did not expect how beautiful it is. The architecture of beautiful interior plasterwork. You have to dedicate time to the garden of Mexico, it is beautiful and the environment around the palace too. Cute little palace. A modest palace with an interesting garden: a waterfall, ponds, cacti, roses, wisteria. Nice, quiet, many ups and downs. Places to stay with views of the fabulous surrender.

Absolutely beautiful palace, incredibly renovated (check the before/after photos on the rooms of the first floor) and very interesting history, of this pearl in the beautiful mountain of Sintra. The gardens are very well kept, and beautiful laid out. Plenty of parking spots outside the main gate. Definitely worth a visit!

The palace was amazing, the details of the architecture are incredible, the gardens were my favorite! It takes a good 2/3 hours to see it all :)

It was the highlight of our two days in Sintra. Not too big, great palace design, wonderful gardens. We got there at the time of opening just before 09:30, so planty of parking, very few other visitors. A MUST.

The Palace is small in comparison to the they palaces in Sintra. It s worth the visit if you like architecture and gardens. This was the least busy Palace I visited in Sintra. There were only. 6 other people there that I noticed. The top floor has thorough history of the building. You can purchase a combination ticket to this building and Pena Palace for 20. Buying the ticket here will save you time in the ticket queue at Pena Palace.

Today access to the gardens and entrance are cut off at the same price. Much of the facade covered by restoration.

Gorgeous palace and park, definitely worth a visit!

An absolutely great property. Definitely take your time and plan for 3 hours. If possible, be there early in the morning. Then you have the garden almost to yourself.

Because not only is this beautiful, but it was also where my grandfather was homemade in the 1930s.

The facade is beautiful, inside the restoration is frankly unnatural, with the exception of the armory. The gardens are running badly, original benches, fountains, a viaduct in the mold ... how can this be shown, and even for 8 euros per person ....

To flee if you are ill or diabetic because no support for free shuttles. After 45 minutes of waiting it took my friend back 600 m slope to the entrance for the shuttle deign to move without any consideration or excuses: it is the limit of malpractice!

A huge park, very nice. The impressive house has a grass slope in front of it to throw itself and admire the landscape. It is recommended to go in the afternoon that the sun gives you in front of the house

I strongly advise a visit.
It is a beautiful space with a beauty of architecture little seen even in other palaces or farms of this kind, has an organization and extraordinary cleanliness, varied and very beautiful gardens. The staff is very friendly and approachable.

A bit expensive for a family ... but it's a special ride.

Completely eccentric, this palace stands out in Portugal! The style is very uniform and each piece is a discovery. It is on a hillock and it dominates a beautiful wooded park planted with exotic species with false ruins, streams, ... I had a very pleasant visit.

Little tourist, quiet, we had a good time! In the summer there is a lot of flora.

The park is lush, there are even waterfalls. The palace is beautifully restored, filled with the history of the second world war, well exposed and explained.

8 euro entrance for grownups worth every penny. , Very beautiful garden. A small but outstanding palace, more like a summer house. If you park on the upper road, take note : it is a very long way to the top. Very steep pathways and lots of stairs. A must see in Sintra.

Nice garden, but NOT a museum, a romantic house Indeed, if there ever have been one, but just a house cleared of anything of interest for artlovers in 1947 !!!

Beautiful, but I think the best time of visitation is the spring (I went in the winter) in front of the immense rose garden and exotic garden. The Palace itself is beautiful, but it is small and the visit to the building is very fast.
