Paradise Cove Luau Review

Like a lite version of the Polynesian Cultural Center, only quicker with a shorter drive, bikini tops and booze.

Let me say that I am from Europe. I went to the Luau to get the experience for my first visit to Hawaii. From that point of view, it was a mediocre experience at best. The food was okay, but certainly nothing spectacular. The best thing was the pork meat. The rest was cooked or fried to death, respectively. The show was okay but again a bit much for the European taste. We had seats in the front right in front of the speakers and everything was very loud to the point of becoming uncomfortable. At approximately half time there was a very long ceremony where all kinds of different groups of people got their round of applause (birthday, wedding, Army, veterans,...). The location is quite nice though and some of the games and activities were fun. I wouldn't do it again though.

The sunset view is incredible at the paradise cove! I had a really good time there and I feel anyone would enjoy this place if they are with the right company. Otherwise, it might get a bit boring at some times while you are here.
The show was amazing specially the last part of it!!
The food was a bit disappointing for me, it was just okay and with the $ you spend to go there you would expect better than that. I personally was expecting something really good and real Hawaiian food but it was just ok.

It was so crowded. It was bad experience to spend my money here. Food was not good, drink is horrible. Compare to another Luau I went before. This place is terrible

5 stars for dancers and show staff. The rest? 1 star. Bad attitudes from box office to those that seat you. They clearly hate their jobs, should find a new one then. Otherwise great show and food was pretty good.

Totally original Hawaiian roots and a real 100% Hawaiian experience the includes a super amazing sunset

Couldnt really believe how mediocre this luau was. It definitely wasn't amazing, and kind of a let down after seeing it posted many times as "the best luau". It didn't have the best food, and the performances weren't great, they were okay. Went to others before that had more options and a better show.

Good food and good entertainment. A little pricey but hey your in Hi. Great time.

Entertaining show...food was good. Be prepared for a lot of people though.

Great food and entertainment. I ve been here twice and still enjoyable. If you get the opportunity to go this is a great way to learn about the islands and history of the culture. Although a very touristy place to go it was still worth the experience.

Not really sure how I got here. I had just took my poptart out of my toaster oven and taken a bite, and I woke up with no clothes on surrounded by shirtless dudes with lots of cool tats. One guy handed me a margarita and carried me to the party. Very much a tourist attraction though.

The chapel was beautiful and had air conditioning, we went out to the lawn afterwards and it was hot with the south winds. But as soon as the sun set, everything was awesome. Great venue for a wedding.

It was a good experience, but also felt quite like a tourist trap. Won't do again, and would be hesitant to recommend.

Very nice to enjoy traditional perfomance and food. Before starting main stage, we can enjoy several fun experiences that they offered.

Absolutely amazing experience! Super friendly and welcoming. Food was good with choices but the show was my favorite it was such a gift to be able to experience the songs and dances of the land.I absolutely loved it!!!

Great food, when we finally got to eat. The doors didn't open until 5pm (they advertised 4pm) , and we didn't eat until 7pm!

Everything was great but my mood was not.. going through a storm in my life..I wish I could have had a better time...

Paradise Cove is a tremendous venue that celebrates the islanders cultures with games, canoe rides, song, dance and a tremendous meal. The facilities cater so well for children to be able to interact with many of the activities. The music & dance show is hypnotic!

Very fun experience, definitely goto this Luau if you haven't, good food and very friendly staff.

Away from the primary tourist area in Waikiki, Paradise Cove is about 30 min north. Impecibly clean & landscaped. Great seaside views. Pre-shows that demo island life. Food was good, show was excellent.

I am disabled and found everyone very kind and helpful. They even had a tram stationed near me should I want to use facilities during show. They immediately located me upon my arrival and treated me like a princess all evening.

This was the best luau on the island! The dancers were great, the activities were wonderful!!!! The price is very reasonable! Most important the food was wonderful!!!

Beautiful Setting for Luau. Exactly what you d expect... sunset, music and dancing, crafts and food! So much fun! Starts out with leis and beverages! Upgrade for front view of performance and service. Picture perfect!

It was ok.the cons..it felt like you were going to a school play....it wasn't intimate,tables were lined up like a school cafeteria and the pork was super salty...while standing in line for the food the buffet looked like you were lining up for school lunch.no pretty decorations ,nothing....the pros....the music was amazing ,the dancers were ok,but the singers were the high light ......overall I would pass on this place if you are looking for more classy luaus.

Fraudulent company! They hang up on me when calling about fraudulent charges. My family went to luau, and I could not go. They told me it was ok, and would be refunded. My family got food poisoning from the food, which they said was terrible. They said it was a huge begging scene, staff requesting tips for everything. Getto atmosphere. They said they sat on lawn chairs!!

To put it quite simply: If you want to go to a luau to have an impersonal experience with average food and sit amongst thousands of people, this is the place to go. Completely unsatisfactory and unprofessional customer service.

Pretty much any other luau offered on Oahu is a a safer bet than this one. Don't waste your money.

The Entertainment was great and there were several activity options, but the buffet food was not strong enough to drive 5 stars.

It was a great experience from the small activities to the box seat which has over head fans. The sunset views were amazing

It's a cool show food is ok. But the show itself is short. And sitting your neck will hurt because the way sitting is arranged. You won't see half of the the show if you have a taller person next to you.

We had our wedding here and it was perfect! Pictures were great for the sunset wedding. The luau was amazing! Would recommend this for anyone!

Wow, what an awesome experience! From the moment we were picked up till we got dropped off at our hotel it was full of fun and laughter. The afternoon's activities were fun and informative leading up to a fabulous show. There was soooo much food, way too much really! It was well worth it to get the deluxe package, we were looked after at every step. Thank you for a great night!

After reviewing other luau shows this one was just ok , the show was good but not great , the ambiance was pretty good as it was by the ocean , things to do besides the show was just ok , shops were not good at all , food was descent but not great , the show it self was disappointed as they involved to much the crowd, I went to see real performers perform I did not paid to see people from the crowd that don t know how to perform try to perform and they had to much of that, at the end it did not wowed us and if we are ever back in Hawaii I will probably skip this .

Definitely the right place to always find turtles to swim with!

It was good went back in 2010 and it was still the same as today in 2019, would like to see it ungraded a bit better plastic chairs for the guess to sit in, exact same chairs as back then. I feel like for as much money as you pay to go to the LUAU surely there can be better chairs and sitting arrangements Food was good though.

The performance with fire and hula dancers was amazing. There was a demonstration of how they cooked their pig and it was quite delicious. Just before it, there was an amazing view of the ocean and mountains. There are so many activities, from holding birds, to making flower crowns, to just enjoying the delicious food with your family.

Its a Luau - you either love it or you dont.
I am not really into this sort of thing and buffet dinning so wasnt my cup of tea but you can do far worse!

It was a nice way to start our stay in Oahu, definitely encorporates couple's and great for a couple moreso than if you're on your own.

Not at all what we expected. Expensive for what you get, ask for more money once inside.

Absolutely amazing place to experience some Hawaiian culture

A fun experience for the family. If you get there by 4, there's ample time to experience the games and crafts, get a tattoo, see a coconut climber, and learn about some Hawaiian culture.

Great entertainment, buffet lines move quickly and although there were 1000 people there tonight, everything ran efficiently and smoothly. If anything, go to experience the entertainment. The music and dancers are fantastic and the fire knife dancer never fails to add a huge "wow" factor to the show.

Tip: It's super hot in the afternoon, so dress appropriately. During the summer months, it's still pretty warm at night, but if we have great tradewinds or if it's winter or spring, you may want to carry a light jacket.

Also, you will be walking A LOT in sand...so wear something comfortable that you don't mind dusting off later.

Started hours late because of traffic so they just rushed everything such that it would still end early. You could feel how rushed it all was. We didn't have enough time to try out half the activities.

Had a great time here. Didn't pay extra for table service and that was fine as there was plenty of enjoyable food. The activities were fun. The staff was friendly. The entertainment was enjoyable as well.

Beautiful natural cove with an abundance of beautiful fish... great snorkel spot!
