Poor service at table. No staff asked if everything alright. Had to ask for more tea twice. Very small pot for four. Took 20 to bring a teaplate that was missing from table. Cakes & scones very dry. Not good welcome.

In July 2015 we had a small wedding reception at The Palm Court Hotel for their Champagne high tea and it was exceptional. All our guest said they felt very special and that the staff had been attentive and just so helpful all afternoon, it was faultless and I can definitely say we will be back for our next party or event they are brilliant. A special thank you to our event organizer Adriana you were fantastic.

Staff very friendly and attentive. However, rooms are very dated. Bathrooms are old school. Also, towels were clean but stained. Need to be replaced! I think the rooms and over all hotel needs a good bit of renovation.

Well, to start with. On our arrival at the reception we were given a warm welcome and the young lady took our bags and said she would arrange to have them delivered to our room, so we could have a look around the shops.
The room was clean and tidy, with a good welcome pack to look at.
The restaurant staff were all very professional and friendly. We only had one meal at the hotel will our friends and that was brilliant, well presented and delicious, our breakfast was the same with lots of choice and of course the full english breakfast.
We would love to go back to the Palm Court Hotel as Scarborough is definitely worth a second visit.

Love the afternoon teas. Proper old fashioned treat. Great selection of sandwiches and cakes. Lovely atmosphere. A nice way to spend a lazy afternoon sipping tea and enjoying the cakes with fancy crockery and linen cloths. A little bit of luxury at affordable prices.

First time we've stayed at this hotel and we found it extremely pleasant. The staff are fantastic. We had a problem with our pre breakfast shower and they sorted us out within 15 minutes with an alternative. Very impressed.

We arrived and thought how nice it looked from outside and when you walk in it looked lovely.
The receptionist was helpful, she gave us the room key and told where to go. We had booked on line and went through the different rooms which where twin beds, double rooms and family room we went for a double as only two of us. when we opened the door to our room I was very disappointed as it was so small. The paint on the doors was peeling, two of the light had blown and the bathroom floor was laminated which was lifting in places. The bath taps when you went to turn on lifted up and so water was leaking onto the floor.
We excepted a nice large room from looking at the pictures on line and got this instead. As we where only staying to nights and knowing that is was fully booked we had to stay in the room.
We went down on the first night for a drink in the bar, we asked where the toilets where and the barman said where they have always been what does this statement tell you. If we had been before we would have known where they where.
It said on the write up that it had a swimming pool which it had but it was dirty, the paint was coming off the walls, a large plant hanging around pool which was half dead so that was out of the question.
on the last night we went to bed only to be woken by the fire alarm at 6 45pm. so we decided to get up have breakfast and leave, we where shown to a table asked what drink we would like and the women went to fetch our coffee's. we didn't sit down as we went to get our cereals and juice, my Partner took the cereals and sat down and was just eating them when she came back and said he had sat at a table which was set for evening meal. He apologized and said he thought it was the one she had shown him, in front of other Guest she made him move and wasn't very friendly. A min later another Guest came in and did the same thing but wasn't made to move they just took of the wine glasses. When she brought our main breakfast out I asked why they didn't do that with us and she just said sorry and that was that. I was so upset and angry I got up and walked out leaving my breakfast and just couldn't wait to get out of the hotel. I got in the lift and it stopped between two floors so I banged on the door and the reception started shouting telling me I must be stood near the lift door for it to have stopped, I was nowhere near the door I was on the back wall. I tried pressing different floors and after a while this worked when I arrived on the ground floor the reception didn't even ask if I was ok.
The Hotel needs upgrading and staff need to treat paying guest with more respect. would I stay again before the incident in the dinning room I would have said yes but only in the family rooms as they have a type of lounge in them and much cleaner than the double rooms but after the incident not a chance.
I have stopped in Scarborough for many years and like to stay in different hotels to give the hotels business and every hotel we have stayed in have been double rooms and have always been big rooms with a lounge area and lovely and clean.
If they don't get there acted together now in March they won't be for the summer.

Well worth the money lovely place friendly staff breakfast as it should be pool area clean bit cold but once your in it okay the free parking is not at the front it's just round corner at side off multistory car park just 100 yards so very close so don't pay at ticket machine

Pros:

Pros:
- the location is great
- free parking in the city center

Cons:
- the rooms decor is a bit dated and need some refurbishment (wall paper falling, tons of light coming from the corridor under the door gap, etc.)
- the room and bathroom could do with some extra cleaning
- ok breakfast but not fabulous as advertised

The general conclusions is that it was a bit overpriced for what the overall experience was.

Just stayed this weekend what a disappointment on the 4th floor the smell off wet damp carpet lingers the corridor (not pleasant at all) the half hour wait for toast at breakfast ended of walking out with out it could obviously tell not enough seating for breakfast guests in the morning the room was ok the noise out the back from bin men and motorbikes revving at 4.30am weren't good either

Only had a meal here and due to covid-19 the menu was limited. I would however recommend the Palm Court burger, you will need to be hungry. Staff very pleasant, limited dining tables but other table types available.

Very disappointed with the room. Very out dated. Bathroom shabby. Bed very uncomfortable. Pillows very thin. Tried to open window as very warm, but there was no way to keep it open. In the end I wedged a book in it.
The side panel in the bathroom was cracked. Overall very dated. The breakfast was ok but I have had just as good in a much cheaper Establishment.
On the plus side , the staff are excellent and the hotel is in a good location.

Very friendly and and helpful staff stayed in room 12 although it was at the front of the hotel it was relatively quiet (mid week) room was clean massive bed lovely breakfasts would stay again, better than most hotels in Scarborough except for maybe the Sands Apartments in the north bay.

Having enjoyed a stay at this hotel on a previous occasion I decided to use it again. The room was reserved/confirmed on a credit card a couple of weeks earlier, however when I arrived I was informed that no rooms were available. This is not what you want to hear after a 4 hour drive! I had to stay in a nearby Travelodge, as this was the only close hotel with any vacancies. Not Happy with the service at all.

Stayed overnight in a super king bedroom. The room was tired and could do with some refurbishment, however it was clean and the bed was comfortable. Public rooms in the hotel were all excellent, except for the swimming pool area which again is looking tired and the pool was cool. The restaurant offered very limited choices for dinner, the menu displayed in the foyer and reception was disappointingly not available. The food available was ok but nothing special, but breakfast the next day was excellent.
The best thing about this hotel is the standard of service, all the staff were friendly and helpful without exception. Free parking in the adjacent car park was also a great bonus.
