Staff all very considerate, noted myself and others with disabilities with frames, walking sticks and ushered us through which l thought was lovely as l cant stand for long.
Absolutely gorgeous building with the marble columns, chandelier and the theatre chairs, old lighting boxes at the back just like a step back in time. Great first time at this venue. The ladies at front reception were fab, took a gift for the touring comedian
The Palais is a great venue but minor issues with access - Ticketmaster tickets wouldn't scan at the door. We were shown to the wrong seats. Free water advertised at one side of the bar but only available at the other side. Great view and acoustics though and overall always a good experience.

The reason I give it one star is because of what happened last night. I met you with my mum to go to see Carole King. We caught PT. At the door they asked if we had any food in our bags and mum told them she had a loaf of sourdough that she had baked for me. They told us we couldn't bring it in because it was edible. 'what are we going to do with a loaf of bread?' we asked. They cited the 'rules' and said there's nothing they could do about it. We asked them what we should do with the loaf and the only option was to leave it outside on their table.
After the show we went back to where the table was, the table was gone and the loaf was in a bin. We spoke to them again and they told us 'next time don't bring food'. They told us it was because of Covid, not explaining further. The show was full capacity and nobody wore masks. It was very unreasonable to not be allowed to bring in the bread but would have been a minor inconvenience if they had looked after it for us until after the show.
Nice, intimate venue, where you can get up close & personal with the artists.
