Disgraceful communication and documentation
8 weeks ago, OzTac were recommended by Toyota Gympie to cut out and weld in a new plate that housed top of a strut on my Toyota coaster.
Toyota Gympie said I couldn't drive the bus so had to get a tow truck to take it there, then also over to a storage facility while I waited for the parts arrived from Japan.
Oz-tac finished the job and called me, so I paid the bill EFT in shock of cost.
They never called me to ask did I want them to put aftermarket struts on, just did it and never said a word.
I organized a tow truck to collect it, at which time they told him to go away and come back in half an hour because they were too busy to hand him the keys.
They still never thought to call me and say hey mate, you can drive your bus now we fixed the struts...
Tow truck came back picked to get my bus from oztac and dropped it 7kms away where it sat for 8 long weeks in storage.
I called Gold City suspension yesterday and asked did they have the missing bits & could they fit the struts. Nothing was a problem for them, however we discovered I already had new struts installed by oz-tac and a very dodged up hole.
Cost for Oz-TACS lack of communication
extra set of genuine struts $314 (now in my boot)
tow truck expenses $900
storage facility $400
$650 for 2 new batteries as they died from sitting for so long
$50 to pull my Tyre off only to find I didn't need anything else
$900 to repair what was meant to be a new roadworthy hole to fit a new strut.
Photo of a hole that the engineer said is safe
Also the note on my invoice that told me they had welded in a new plate with a new round hole & fitted 2 new struts and the labor involved?
Very disappointed with both Toyota and Oz-Tac :-(
