Food was great. The manager is a great guy. He came by just to see how we were doing. Friendly folks.

Food was great. The manager is a great guy. He came by just to see how we were doing. Friendly folks.
Irish stew we ordered was probably made hours before and tasted like days before. Bangers were pitiful!! Worst Irish pub food ever.
Came for the first time on 06/13/18 with friends for trivia. The happy hour specials were good and the food was good too. I really enjoyed the service and loved the trivia format. Hope to come again soon.
Decent bar and seating options. Food wasn't spectacular but it isn't bad either. Wait staff is tentative but not very friendly.
Ordered a burger for delivery and it was delicious. Stopped by to grab beer and apps with friends and the service was friendly and the steamed shrimp was great! Attentiveness is important at a bar never has to ask for a second drink!
Food is gross, prices are high and service is slow even when they're not busy.
Absolutely loved the blue cheese mac and cheese! Everyone enjoyed their food. The service was accommodating.
I go to this superb restaurant often because I love the good air that is characterizes this place. The staff is highly loving and skilfull. The service is exceptionally quick. Needless to say, the food they cook is first-rate. I visited more than once and I was always satisfied. The cost is reasobable. I recommend this restaurant to to all.
Great service and excellent food.
The baked Brie cheese is my fav!
Good food, good service. Congenial place for easy meal.
Baked Brie appetizer is worth going alone. The other stuff was just OK. Good for large groups.
This is a great place to find local people, great sports really good food! I enjoyed myself tremendously. Park downstairs and stay out of the weather.
Slow service on the night we visited. There was a private party on another area though.
Brunch is the best. Good food, really nice staff and $30 for food for three of us (with bloodies and mimosas for two of us).
It is not often, in fact never the case, that I've thought of a restaurant as fondly as I do P.J.'s. When I walk in, I'm welcomed by enthusiasm and often even one of the Irish owners. Their menu is tremendous and broad, and the chef personally presents my order to me every time.
P.J.'s combines "classic Irish" with DC, high-scale, meeting places. Their Irish classics are done to perfection, their beer on tap is broad and balanced, their collection of whiskey is par none, their specials are trendy and fresh. And more, their friendliness is worth the entire trip.
I don't sit down without a favorite beer waiting for me already, and the bar tenders/wait staff offer me their most recent take on tater tots. I follow that up by often challenging the chef to "bend the rules" a little bit. For instance, I may ask for the wonderful grits with Irish sausage instead of the shrimp that's on the menu. The responses I get to these requests are enthusiastic. They rise to the challenges of a "regular" by honoring my tastes, just as they do all their customers.
The most delicious food at a pub I've ever had! It was a mixture of Irish, Indian, and Greek!
Lots of fun. Good local bar with a fun new owner! Good happy our with some dishes you might not expect..
I ve never had a bad meal here until today. I was told the Chef doesn t normally cook brunch, so I guess that was their excuse. Everything on my American breakfast was undercooked. We had some drinks, but everything but the shots were bad. Normally this spot is a go to on the weekends, but now I m guestioning it.
Great place for night entertainment and drinks. Great staff. I would go again and hang.
Inconsiderately loud with so many people working from home and on the weekends. Totally unacceptable music volume levels.
(AKA YOU GUYS ARE TOO LOUD!!! I CAN HEAR YOU CLEARLY THROUGH MY CLOSED WINDOWS + CURTAINS)
We went on a Saturday night and it was a little before rush. The food was great. I had the Mulligan Burger. Loved it. The live entertainment though was SO GOOD. STOLE THE SHOW. He was a solo guitar rock n roller named Tommy Huntley. Wow!
The owner works very hard to do things the right way. Food is good and reasonably priced. Has become one of my favorite places. Good man.
New owner Aug 2019. Very friendly and bit quiet on Friday after lunch. Will come back with men to talk.
The place has a laid back easy going atmosphere. I started with the loaded tots. They were great! I had a build your own burger with bacon, guacamole, pepper jack cheese which was pretty amazing. Price was reasonable. I will be back for Trivia and more eats.
We waited a while and finally got my food. It was brought out in stages. Basically only one person got their food and everyone else was kept waiting. The manager said that because of the mistake, they would comp one of the meals. They added a meal we did not even order and then comped that one. So basically didn't live up to what they said they would do. Also took way too long to bring out food. There weren't that many people there so it shouldn't have taken as long as it did. Food was good. Service sucked.
Friendly, attentive service. Solid cheesesteak and reasonably priced too. From the looks of it a solid craft beer list including local drafts and less common beers like Bell's HopSlam. Very mellow vibe.
The worst!
We waited forever to get the food and then for the bill!
The food is cold have no test at all.
Don't come
Eating cold and money taste forever and the restaurant is overflowing with the length of time on Mabal answer eating and the bill! Bad
Def recommend Ned Devines around the corner. Here the beer selection is limited to about 8 drafts. The food is greasy and unflavorful. The prices are nuts (even during happy hour). The waitresses are nice and friendly (as is the bartenders) but the management is clueless even after the change of ownership.
Music is too loud even after 9 pm. Very annoying to residents upstairs.
The interior definitely feels like an Irish pub and is clean and welcoming. The happy hour drink prices and beer selection are good. The service was relatively fast and very friendly. The deviled eggs from the happy hour food menu were a unique find at a bar and tasted great.
Very clean fun seating outside very entertaining and enjoyable. I would come back
It should have been good, a guy on his guitar entertaining at the bar, an irish pub. Was looking forward to a great meal.
Unfortunately, the guy on his guitar was on a serious amp, sitting at least 50 feet away, I estimate the sound to be over 100 decibals.
I asked if this volume was normal, and the waiter said yes, so we dealt with it. Should have left then.
The tots were fairly good, hot and crispy, but the topping was mediocre.
I ordered the chicken pot pie, and my friend ordered a chicken platter.
Her chicken platter had enough food to claim as an appetizer, not as a meal. My chicken pot pie felt, well, industrial. No flavor, super consistent, and a terrible, 1/2 raw pastry "top" thrown over the glass dish as an afterthought.
Will not be back, ever.
A great find. A REALLY great selection of whiskies and a great beer range too. Half price whisky on a Wednesday is the cherry on top.
A trash establishment that has no respect for the location in which they operate. This is a mixed residential/retail location and they continually play loud music at all hours of the day and night disturbing other tenants and residents alike. They have also erected massive tents on a public side walk which is most certainly a safety hazard. It is clear that the owner and employees have no respect for the community that they are surrounded by.
Fun place to hang out. Lots of locals. Cuisine is interesting and different. I really liked it a lot more than a typical Irish pub.
I haven't eaten there, but I go by it multiple times a week. The outside is sometimes a general cloud of cigarette smoke or smelly steam from people vapping. It it weren't for that barrier I probably would have tried it by now.
Great staff, menu is too big, drinks are good, food is good.
Sad 3 ripe-off stripes of corned beef ($19). 1 star is for the girls' Irish Dancing.
The only place in town where I can get burger cooked the way like it. Well done. Most chefs will not cook it that way. This chef will. Staff friendly and helpful. Thanks guys for a great Easter diner that I did not have to cook.Keep up the work.
Quick lunch stop to satisfy my Shepard's pie craving. Was not disappointed, great portion size, full of flavor.
Ample outdoor seating, unfortunately the service outside during lunch was slow. The interior is well appointed and gives the pub feel with a large bar and a good selection of adult beverages.
Excellent pub fair food. Simple and delicious food. get any burger and fries you won t be disappointed.
Food was excellent. Party of 4 on a slow night, we had calamari, loaded tater tots, wings, shepherd's pie, shrimp and grits, reuben sandwich, sliders, and a blackened chicken wrap special. All of the fried food was cooked perfectly in fresh oil, crispy and flavorful. Delicious reuben, shepherd's pie tasted freshly home made, and the shrimp and grits were wonderful. Excellent preparation and presentation for simple yet delicious pub food. Our server and floor manager were attentive and friendly.
My waitress was was kind and helpful and my meal form start to finish was fantastic. The fried banana cheesecake is out of this world delicious. Great local spot.
The host was very rude. Turned customers away and had horrible attitude. 10/10 would fire this guy. He will bring down business.
I usually love to go every Wednesday because they have dance instructors which make's the night very fun. Nice place, very nice people, everyone is always happy, excellent service and great food.
Good atmosphere, good service, a great selection of Mac-N-Cheese BTW you can get plain Mac-N-Cheese as a side dish
Great place to kick back and relax. Catch a game or just chat. Great food selection and bar.
The menu has declined dramatically since. Was much better as Finnegans
Cozy and beer selection is good.. Food is not best but generally ok..
Worst experience of my dining in Herndon. Bad service, terrible food, and wrong orders.
Appetizer came out after the meal came out. Refused the appetizer. The Steak salad, that we ordered with extra blue cheese, came out with NO blue cheese.
Server thought she was doing us a favor, by telling us that she took off the appetizer from the check. Really, you not going to make me pay for a pre-meal snack that I didn't eat? What a bargain!
Never will return...to many good restuarants in Herndon, to waste my time going back here.
We just came from the 1st Sundays Comedy Show and it was AMAZING! S/O out to Dj Swoop and Dj Killswitch along e/ Wuzu and Comedian Joe Jackson. Can't wait until April 5th to do it agian.
Place is hit or miss. Some of their food items are spot on and great, other items are just average or miss the mark. Nice decor inside
Always a safe bet for a good beer nice atmosphere and good bar food. Wait staff is friendly, if a bit inattentive some times. Not a huge problem just happens sometimes during rush. Definitely recommended to stop in and try it.
I was concerned upon entry when there was no host. There were lots of people and what only looked like 1 or 2 servers. The menu was an electronic tablet that I found cumbersome to navigate. The tablet was dirty and hastily handed off without explanation by the busy server. After some frustration with the menu my wife and I decided to depart. The lack of hospitality turned me away. I can order food from a screen at home. This just wasn t the place for us.
They seemed a little grumpy about seating us for happy hour. That's cool, though.
This is a great Irish pub. 4.5 stars.
Always a fantastic beer selection on draught. Food has been consistently great, too. One of my go-to joints in the Reston area. I always sit at the bar, and the bartender has always been on top of things.
Can get pretty loud when it gets busy, and it DOES get busy, which is why I can't give it 5 stars.
My best advice would be go when it's not busy.
Had a great birthday dinner at PJ Mulligans the other night, with delicious food, excellent service from our server Shea, a nice little Birthday treat from owner Kiran, and a terrific open mic with quality singers doing 50s and 60s music. Great way to celebrate. Thanks PJ Mulligan staff!
Dessert of bread pudding fell flat. Chili was good.
We had a small luncheon welcoming our newest coworker and everything was very nice. It wasn't overcrowded and our food came out quicker than we expected. My pub burger was perfect (loved the pretzel bun) and our server and host were attentive to our group.
Nice ambience and the guys at the bar are very friendly
Good selection of food and drink, across several types of cuisine. Very true to a "pub" in that regard. Staff professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Would like to see more options/specifics on the menu around items like sauces, dressing, side items and their options. Probably would have eaten more and stayed later with more there....
What drew me into PJ's today was my birthday celebration. I had looked forward to an event that had been cancelled due to weather today, I never checked my email and I was bummed a bit upon hearing the news. We decided to stay for brunch and were refunded for our tickets purchased with no problem. Our server was excellent and the manager on duty exceeded my expectations. They went above and beyond. We tried both styles of oysters, the jalapeno poppers, the Cajun pasta (or perhaps the jambalaya pasta) among other things. The service was great, the food was great. I enjoyed the personal touch of the complimentary creme brulle for my birthday dessert, complete with a candle. I will definitely be coming back. Thanks again Shay and please tell your manager thank you again. What could have been a totally bummer experience, turned out to be a great time. Excellent recovery.
Great pub. Almost like ones I have visited in Ireland. Ate at the bar - got great service. And the food is clearly a cut above your standard bar faire. First time - I will be back.
disgusting place that tries to pressure customer to buy more drinks.
Great selection of whiskey. Good draft beer selection. Food is soso. Service was very good.
This is surely one of the finest restaurants in the area. Whenever I come there I am so glad. They keep their very high standard service and the topmost level of food they give. You will be always satisfied with this place. Very recommended.
This place has great Irish food. I bring friends here just to give them something different than all the other fare for miles around. They have a great little niche item that they do very well... Tater tots done in a variety of ways. That are so tasty. Whiskey/beer selection is pretty good, not huge but still has quality items on it. Every time I'm there it's classic rock on the house speakers (van Halen, queen, steely Dan). There is ample parking in the shopping center it's in.
All around great pub with a wonderful and friendly staff, light atmosphere with many weekly events. The food is excellent, and not just for a pub, actually restaurant quality menu. They no longer list it but I still opt for the steak and mac & cheese quite frequently. I only just recently discovered they also have a brunch menu that start at 11am. I haven't had less than great meals here. It is generally an older crowd of regulars so it is a nice quiet place to be. For those that are turned off by the parking situation, there is underground parking that is quite spacious (since it goes unnoticed by most).
First visit, great food and service. Will visit again.
Great place to hangout with friends or colleagues. Pretty big collection of spirits.
