Oxford Biomedical Technologies is an average company. Their products are decent quality, but nothing extraordinary. I have been using their services for a while now and have not had any major issues. The customer service is average as well, not overly helpful but not rude either. Overall, I would say they are an okay company to work with.
This test is not as reliable as they say. If you havent eaten any of the foods tested for awhile you will get a false negative. My husband was down to eating 20 foods for several months before the test, because he didn't know what was inflaming him. The test results said he could eat gluten grains and dairy as well as many other foods that when he tried he got so bad!! This was a waste and so innacurate! Prices range from 295 to 695....go figure. I would not recommend!! Save your money.
I was surprised when I came from MD to FL for the winter to learn that Oxford charges double ($600) what my doctor charged me at home the first time I had a test 2 years before ($600). Why, especially if they're drawing the blood right where it's tested? My second experience with this lab was a disaster, when I was in Florida, long story. It took months to get basic answers to questions about the process to find someone who has a relationship with Oxford. Also my results the second time took 20 days. In the balance, I think this lab performs a very important niche service to people with food sensitivities so I am inclined to give them a better rating. These tests can be the beginning of turning a person's life around and helping them to understand the relationship between diet and health, and maintaining much more control over wellness.
As a functional health coach, one of the labs I love to have clients run is a food sensitivity test. Sometimes, we need to dive into very specific foods, but before that happens, we need to look at a general overview of their diet. That's where the MRT comes in.
While no food sensitivity test has been perfected yet, I have found this one consistently useful. Virtually every time I do a consultation with a client, I hear them saying "OMG - I eat ___ everyday. I can't believe I'm sensitive to that." Of course, from the functional perspective, this makes perfect sense. However, that's a seperate conversation.
As far as their company goes, I have been nothing but satisfied during the last few years of working with them. The moment that really did it for me, though, was when I sent a client who happened to be local to their lab directly to them for a blooddraw. Great decision.
The level of customer service that was given to my client was awesome. My client actually called me ON HIS WAY HOME to rave about these people. saying how cool it was and that he got to see the entire lab. The people I work with are spending a LOT of money, and are usually quite sick. To know that this lab treats them just as well as I do makes me wish they had labs in every city, lol!
