Good food, fresh ingredients and value for money. This bistro offers a fresh menu every week and is a great choice for the Winelands road tripper.

This is definitely a place to visit. Great food, very friendly staff and quick to serve.
Thanks for the lovely food and wine....you did a great job even though we were so many guests this morning.
Modern, sophisticated, very affordable. My chicken schnitzel could feed a family and tasted heavenly.
Avante garde architecture allows for a practical and stylish tasting room while the restaurant offers seating both within and outside, with lovely water features and beautiful gardens. Swimming is allowed under adult supervision.
There is WiFi, furniture is in contemporary classic style.
Children can play on lush lawns or go wild on the jumping castles and other amenities.
This is a truly worthwhile stop for the entire family.
Pinot Grigio. Did I mention that they have the most delectable pinot grigio there?
The beautiful part is that this family escape won't break the bank. It really is advisable to spend at least a few hours here.
Lovely wine tasting experience. Elisha was such a friendly host, great place, will definitely visit again.
Loved the pizza! Good wine, lovely gardens/setting and great for kids!
It's a calm ,quite and save place for the children to play
Place looks cool with some nice activities for the kids. Nice friendly staff with generous genuine smiles, however service is a bit slow tho. Took about 15min until our waiter came to take our drinks order and another 15min until outlet bottle of wine arrived so didn't order any food. Might be because we just rocked up without a reservation.... As usual
Nonetheless, still had a good time
OK spot and OK food but the staff basically hide away at the bar and chat while peoples heads spin looking for assistance.
Maybe just holiday staff b team?
Awesome place, atmosphere, staff Everything from the top shelves.
The Karoo lamb curry was tasty, mild and fatty, priced at about R100-. They serve their wines by the glass at R20-/R23-. Outdoors and indoors seating. Beautiful white rose garden, water features, lawn and child play area.
Food is good. Service is amazing and just overall good visit. Easy access from the highway.
Nice and cosy with fireplace in Winter. They are home to some great wines and good food to go with it.
Wonderful, friendly staff. Playground for kids. Excellent food.
Very relaxed atmosphere.
Wow...what a nice place! Eat breakfast here..but the people are so friendly and the food great!
Great place for a driving break, nice big outside area, perfect for small kids wit a water slide and playpark
Very quiet. Service very good. Entertainment for children. Bouncy castle and water slide.
Unwashed salad leaves with plant lice & canned meat in their hamburger patties. Disappointing. Service was fine.
Lovely sitting outside overlooking green lawns and children playing. Very good choice of food. Good quality food and good choice of Wines. Always a recommendation.
Great wine selection at affordable prices. Shorty was friendly and very knowledgeable and made the whole whole experience worth the while. The tasting was affordable and very flexible. The pinotage and shiraz are quite excellent.
The service was bad and the food was cold. Won't recommend this place to anyone. We waited one hour.
Wonderful atmosphere. Good food and very good wine.
Very nice if you have kids and want to relax a bit.
Nice location and the food is good, but sadly it took over 40 mins for our food to arrive, and it wasn't even that full.
Great place for kids and serves great food and with great service.
Stumbling upon this gem on a very hot Sunday, I was quite intrigued at the beautiful setting - especially outside. Food (pizzas) was amazing and the wine list didn't disappoint .If you want to sit outside however, best book beforehand as it gets busy because of the play area weekends. Overall a great restaurant if your kids are tagging along.
My favorite cellar to visit. Friendly staff and awesome wine
Great venue, great service and great value for money@
We had a quick stop for lunch here. Very kid-friendly spot with a jungle gym and some jumping castles. Baby changing facilities in the women's bathroom. The food was good. I would've given them 4 stars, had it not been for the whole outdoor section being for smokers. Indoors is air-conditioned, funky decor.
I love this place. Most decent kiddies area in the Worcester area
Absolutely pathetic. Tried have a light midday meal for 5 adults, the chalk board shows Chicken Wrap as the Special. Ok. Waiter returns, sorry no chicken. Tried to order a hamburger, replied sorry no buns. Menu shows a vegetarian type pizza with mushrooms. The waiter returns from the kitchen after a short while. Sorry no mushrooms. Guess what, we walked out to never return again. Had to pay R25 for a normal tin of appetiser.
A nice place to have light breakfast and lunch and also wine tasting
They were so delicious to eat and so delicious, thumbs up
Very nice wines, great wine tasting experience with the sommelier.
Just note that the restaurant is permanently closed now.
The wines are still well worth the visit.
Awsome place for kids, had a slip n slide and jumping castle! Lots of fun. Food is also of a high quality here but unfortunately no local beers, only 2 craft beers :(
Good selection of wine from the estate itself. Try the Mensa wine. Great venue for children with lots of activities to keep them busy. Excellent food. Booking is essential over the weekends. Try to get a tabke ubder the trees. Wine tasting is available for the ones that is just passing by. Have been there several times and will go again soon..
A pleasant place to go. Child friendly. Food looked delicious and tasted delicious, however service was slow, which was a little frustrating. Will I go again? Yes, definitely - hopefully to prove that it was just a bad day and in fact they are brilliant in that area as well!
Lovely pizzas
GREAT wines
Fantastic breakfast combo
PS a secret, the Buddy Balance bubbles with thier pizza, ooh la la
What a disappointment!
The only thing they they deserve a star for is the decor!
When I ordered my food, there was a choice of two accompanying ingredients. When my food arrived, that which I had ordered was not there. When I enquired from the waitress why my food had not been made correctly, she had to go back to the kitchen to enquire. The kitchen's response was, sorry we ran out of that. I was not asked if I wanted something else, the dish was merely placed in placed in front of me without explanation.
My husband had a hamburger, but goodness knows what it is there use for the patty, because it was disgusting.
When the manageress eventually decided to come over to our table, her attitude was not apologetic at all, on the contrary, she was quite argumentative.
This is one place I shall not be visiting again.
People are very friendly and there are some very interesting stories behind the labels. Visit this place and found out. It is part of exploring
Good place to visit for wine and a day out with the family. There is a play area for children aswell
Great service, excellent wine! Highly recommend their Mensa Cabernet Sauvignon!!!
It is not often that I leave a review. Normally I just don t go back to a restaraunt, but today s experience made me feel like I need to voice my distaste about the venue. My husband, daughter and I pulled into Overhex spontaneously this afternoon. It was busy and the waiting staff seemed quaotic (we should have taken this as a sigh ), but after five minutes of waiting a waitress noticed us and i formed us they could squeeze us in for lunch. We were shown to our table which was outside and close to the kids playing area. It took a while for someone to bring us menus and take our order, but we ordered our drinks and food (quick items) and sat and relaxed. After around 30 minutes my husband queried where I drinks were, the young waitress informed us they were on our way and they were very busy. After 45 minutes, my husband enquired again and we were assured they were on their way. After an hour, our meals arrived, although my daughters meal did not - we had to query where it was. At this point we still had not received our coffee, iced tea and water! Considering we ordered one main pizza, a kiddies pizza and a hotdog, there is no excuse for waiting an hour for a meal and not receiving our drinks. I would have left but my daughter was hungry and was playing. We did not receive our drinks at all by the time we paid. I will not recommend this place to anyone nor will I return. The management need to find a better way to structure their service so that the waiters and waitresses can handle busy service. They also need to ensure that the younger waiting staff have training on how to handle clients. The entire expeirence left a bitter taste in my mouth. It is such a shame as the venue itself is lovely for family s with kids and my pizza was not bad. My husbands hotdog was not very appetising though. I hope that this feedback is taken and used to improve the customer experience.
Overhex treated us to a fantastic evening with Elvis Blue.
The wine on arrival, the tasty snack platter and comfortable couch made for a belated Valentine's evening.
Oh and the Saggy Stone lager was also a perfect compliment to end the day.
Thank you Overhex
Trevor and Lorraine Pigg
Beautiful setting and wonderful for kids. Food was brilliant besides the Malva pudding that was a bit dry. Great selection of wines and Gin cocktails. Service was a bit slow but having said that the restaurant was very busy.
