It is no longer maintained. It was once a beautiful resting place. Back in its glory days it was maintained spectacularly by city of Pontiac employees as part of the parks division. I can t say for certain whether ownership is still held by Them, but I do know that city no longer has employees of their own but instead contract out. You want workers who are invested and not some random out of state company making money off of doing the least possible. It shows. Painfully. We have 3 generations of family here starting in 1973, and I m terribly saddened, as I know they would be. RIP.

My father has been here for 12 years, and this past year they removed, broke, and stole items from his grave that have been there for years, including fencing. The new management of this cemetery is disgusting, disrespectful and down right rude when you try to talk to them about issues like this. I called several times and recieved the answering machine several times. When I went into the office, there was another woman angry about the same thing, and they were so rude to her, that I left, because I was afraid I would hit the woman behind the counter if she spoke to me, the way she spoke to the woman before me.

The grounds are a mess, the interior roads awful. Though the rules say they do not allow to placement of plastic flowers or other objects (pinwheels, dolls, trolls, etc.) on the graves, the rule is not enforced. I am ashamed to say that my husband is resting at Ottawa as will I be when the time comes. I regret having any association with this unkempt cemetery that shows no respect for those loved ones whom we place in its care.

On Thursday June 1, 2017 my mother and I were planting flowers when an older gentleman approached us, he said "I don't know if you noticed, but look around, how bad it looks, and explained he heard they SOLD it? He didn't know to who but Pontiac cemeteries owned it, even though its location is Clarkston". I agreed with him because we (my mom and I) did see". For example, when we entered Ottawa off Dixie Hwy. I said to my mom "wow, what's going on here"? meaning the road in was in dire need of attention, potholes, craters..... and geez, it looks like NO GRASS has been mowed (as in since winter). Being past Memorial day, that's just outright disrespectful but worst of all MANY of our soldiers buried in this Cemetery had NO Flags, so I'm assuming the scattered few that I did see were placed by families. And TRASH was left near water fountains for lack of any where to put it besides on the other side where I did find a trash can overflowed obviously as well, and to top it off I guess we're now supposed to bring our own watering cans because they didn't even place them throughout the cemetery under the water spouts. Thank you for your time in Reading maybe hopefully something can be done soon!

I have a very poor opinion of this cemetery! I paid $3500 for a headstone and am still waiting for it's delivery 11 months later. I am deeply grieved because of this. I was forced to contact the corporate office and the City of Pontiac to try to get my headstone in place. The office is run poorly and I will not do business with them any longer. Following is a later post: As of today September 22nd, 2020, my headstone was set up, and is a wonderful marker. Jayson in the office helped me today.

I was just over there and they MOVED A HEADSTONE. They moved it to dig a grave, BUT these are not meant to be moved. Not only did they move it, but did not put it back for clearly a large amount of time. So disrespectful not only to the person it belongs to, but to their family. It would be so horrible to go plant flowers and your relatives stone was not in its proper place, but tossed aside sitting on another's grave.

Disappointed one more year. My dad's grave is destroyed. The plants are ruined for the 3rd year in a row. Someone keeps stealing the rocks around his headstone. And the grass looks horrible throughout the park. My dad has been buried here for 26 years. This is ridiculous. Get it together or find new staff. I have never seen this place look so bad.
