To begin with I rarely write reviews, but this dining experience has been "eating" at me for a few weeks now and I feel that it's only fair to say something that might get the attention of the owner, Dave, and upper management. My husband and I went to the Clackamas Oswego Grille on a Saturday as I stated a few weeks ago. We went to the bar where we have dined on previous occasions, it was not busy, we wanted to sit in a booth, which had been sitting there dirty for some time, so we sat at a table, once approached by a very nice young server I asked her if we could have that booth in which she said of course, but you don't want me as your server? That was not it at all, we just prefer a booth, but she went and cleaned the booth for us after all. Once we were in the booth there was NO two minute greet, in fact, the bartender was doing her prep while we sat there. When she finally did approach our table, I'm going to guess possibly five minutes after sitting there, her demeanor was somewhat lackluster, we asked for water, the water was poured from the pitchers at the bar that had been sitting for some time, maybe four ice cubes were in our glasses, this is just the start...the appetizer, spinach dip came out within the time approximation that is on point with service standards, the entree, not so much. I had ordered the salmon, and my husband ordered the burger, 45 minutes, unacceptable. What was really disappointing was my entree. The asparagus was clearly "tired" and if there had been a two minute check back or a manager table touch I would have pointed this out, but it was at the end of our meal when a server did approach the table to clear our plates (and at that point it was too late) that I did mention she might want to let the chef know that the asparagus was too old to serve and getting another side of asparagus at this point was not an option, I was finished with my salmon and kind of irritated at this point, plus, it was probably the same outdated asparagus that was on my plate in the first place. The new server offered dessert, I just wanted to get out of there. It truly was a dismal experience. To add to this poor experience, the bartender had clearly gone on her break, and we really didn't know who was taking care of our table, I was a lead server at Stanfords PDX for 11 years, I do know the steps of service, keeping communication with the guest is very important, such as "I will be going on my lunch break and (name) server will be taking care of you while I'm away". To me it was rather shocking how poorly trained this crew was. I know Dave, he was our district manager at PDX and I know the core business model and service values that he adopted from the days of PCR. I believe that he would be very unhappy if this kind of service happens all the time, I know that we were. The one thing you want to hear is we'll be back! We won't.
