I share the opinion with my predecessors, but I would also like to address two points that are not at all acceptable and sometimes outrageous. On the one hand, as a full-time student, I had to take part in an embryology, which was "punched through" over 3 days and over a weekend. According to the lecturer, this seminar is intended for part-time students. Thus, the full-time students were registered in this seminar due to cost and time reasons and this is bold and outrageous! With no basic knowledge, I had difficulty following the course. This does not apply to the part-time students, as most of them are physiotherapists and have therefore already learned embryology. So I was overwhelmed. The lecturer was surprised because he did not know that there were full-time students in the course, as the course is intended for part-time students. Here again, the communication between the facility and the lecturer is wrong. In addition, the school is apparently trying to save money and time by letting the full-time students take part in a seminar without any prior knowledge and that is not okay in my opinion! I pay 590.00 per month and am a full-time student and not a part-time student who attends a weekend seminar once a month. Something is wrong here! The stupid thing is that the exam will only be written in 8 months !? Here, the planning must definitely be improved and the matter approached in a didactically sensible way. In addition, it must also be clarified whether it makes sense didactically to learn such a comprehensive topic in 3 days without prior knowledge. Thus, not much information remains after the seminar and most of it is forgotten (bulimia learning). Another important point is that we are the first year in which the 3-day visit to the Charite has been removed and so far it has not been clearly communicated whether we can make up for this in the next semester. As a "compensation" we were given a daily appointment in Dresden, for which we have to bear the costs ourselves, at the monthly 590.00 ! In order to save costs, we were advised to look for possible accommodation on the Couchsurfing website. I have to honestly ask myself what this statement is supposed to mean. Am I a backpacker traveling or why is this recommended to me !?

I have to say to my regret that the establishment is unaware of their poor communication and planning. Also, I get the feeling that the monthly costs are definitely not justified. In addition, the institution does not take the students seriously enough and the money is squandered or not used sensibly in order to guarantee the students a competent and good education.

The majority of the lecturers are very competent and passionate about what they are doing, which gives me a lot of motivation for studying as a newcomer to the school and very much encourages me in my enthusiasm for osteopathy.

Some students from the master s semester talk about one of the best osteopathic training courses in Germany, but I don't have a comparison to judge for myself.

One point of criticism is the organization, which is in need of improvement, especially with regard to changes to the timetable.

A big plus point for me is that from day one I also work practically and thus the "Thinking, feeling, seeing, knowing fingers" can be tried out from zero hour.

All in all, I am very satisfied with the school so far and above all I can recommend the teaching practice to anyone who would like to undergo osteopathic treatment at low cost.

Had the unfortunate experience of attending a 2 day workshop with Torsten Liem at the Berlin school in November 2019.
If I had known the first morning would have included anti-semitic statements and insulting comments toward minorities, I would not have bothered to waste my time. Purely that the response I have received regarding my concerns of political statements used in an osteopathy setting was lacking drastically in any apology is terrible, but that it has been suggested I should have accepted the anti-semitic comments as part of the course is disgusting. Unacceptable behaviour.

Unfortunately, the level and organization of the facility has not yet been satisfactory. The bachelor's degree in osteopathy at the Osteopathie Schule Berlin has not yet met expectations. On the one hand, the facility is poorly organized and sometimes changes lecture dates at very short notice and thus gives the students little planning security, as is the case at other universities. Furthermore, there is no agreement between the lecturers. As an example, we start practically without having any anatomical knowledge. Instead of learning anatomy in theory and then working practically, you start practically without having the theoretical knowledge. There is also no connection between the practical module and the anatomy module. In practice, lower extremities are treated and in anatomy the lecturer reads the slides and does not know the German terms. Furthermore, the anatomy lecturer starts with the muscles instead of the bones and then the muscles and their origin and insertion. Another big point of criticism is the unnecessarily long pauses. With an effective lecture time of 6 hours in total, the lessons have a 2-hour break. Which is completely absurd and does not happen in working life. Instead of shortening the breaks and making the lecture more compact and thus giving the students more time to study, unnecessary long breaks are used to artificially lengthen the day and thus justify the monthly study costs of 580 euros which are definitely not justified at this level. The focus here is clearly on the entrepreneurial aspect rather than the didactic one. Something definitely has to change here. This institution does not correspond to a university or similar educational institutions!

My fascination with osteopathy and osteopathic tec...

My fascination with osteopathy and osteopathic techniques led me to the OSD. The only school in Berlin that offers "everyone" the opportunity to learn osteopathy from zero. In full-time education. This task and responsibility demands an enormous organization, which can only be practiced through "learning by doing".

Any training - at school or university - requires self-confident learning and studying as well as great self-organization.
The many lecturers give me an overview of the various aspects and various ways of osteopathic treatments. In the end, everyone forms their own idea of how they, future osteopaths, can bring the body to self-healing and choose their own (therapy) path.
I learned that after the first 4 intensive weeks. I look forward to what lies ahead of me in the next 4 years with full enthusiasm and motivation.

Thank you Tobias for sharing your passion with me and making it possible to learn to feel and see your body with my own hands.

I completed both my bachelor's and master's degree at OSD Berlin full-time and would really recommend this school to anyone who wants to become an osteopath!

Osteopathic subjects start in the first week of the university, so that the students train their palpation right from the start. You will be taught passionately and practically by practicing osteopaths.

The advantage is that the lecturers come from so many different horizons and countries. This will teach many different techniques and perspectives on osteopathy so that students will have many tools on hand when they are done.

A big plus for the OSD is that the school has its own teaching practice in which the students treat patients under the supervision of experienced osteopaths. Many schools do not have any and the students have to sit in on practices or hospitals, but have little patient experience at the end of their studies.

In addition, the OSD annually organizes international osteopathy congresses in which the students can participate, as well as regular workshops!

This five-year course is not a pony farm, in the beginning everything can seem like too much content, but you quickly get used to the rhythm and become more and more curious! Definitely recommendable :)
