Orthopaedics Plus Review

Over the years, I ve been to multiple Physical Therapists for work related injuries. This time I was referred to Al Visnick for a ruptured disc in my back and foot drop. Although I was seeking relief from back pain, Al assessed my pain was also related to neck, shoulder and hip issues as well. Al never gets flustered when he is focusing on one area and I redirect him to other area s that ache. He listens to everything I say and offers multiple effective solutions at every visit. I feel Al now has a better understanding of my body than I do! I truly appreciate how Al has helped me well beyond issues I originally was seeking treatment for. Additionally everyone treating me from the Orthopaedics plus team including Al and particularly Iggy has made my PT a very positive experience.

I have had my fair share on injuries over the years. Whenever I need physical therapy, Orthopaedics Plus is by far the best place to get treatment. The team is very attentive and goes above and beyond to ensure their patients needs are met.

The care we've received from Justin and the team has been simply outstanding. They are attentive to each individual patient, explaining their approach every step of the way, adjusting the treatment plan based on the progress and feedback they receive, and providing counsel and explanation whenever asked.

The work I personally did with Justin allowed me to get relief and function more effectively, for a longer period, despite osteoarthritis that had developed in my hip. Through the PT plan Justin put together, we experimented with different therapies and, after some time, ultimately concluded that the most viable path to achieving my goals was to resort to a hip replacement. At Justin's suggestion, he designed a pre-surgery at home physical therapy program that has allowed me to prepare myself optimally for the upcoming surgery, and increase my likelihood of an easy and fast recovery. Post-surgery I will most definitely be visiting Justin to do the work necessary to return to my normal activities of golfing, boxing, tennis, etc.

I have been going to Orthopaedics Plus over the past five years with three very different physical therapy needs. I have to admit I was skeptical at first as I have never had luck with PT. I went in without not much confidence that PT would help but each time the condition has been resolved and I have felt so much better. The attention to your individual needs is top notch. I have worked with Justin Pezick each time and could not have been better diagnosed and cared for. If anyone needs physical therapy, please don't hesitate to go there. If they can't relieve your problem, I don't think anyone would be able to.

They treat you with respect, they are on time for their appointments, and they track your progress from day one. They don't rush you into any thing that they know you are not able to do, Only when you are ready, a new strengthening exercise is introduced.

I've worked with Justin in Burlington off and on for a few years now dealing with chronic issues resulting from osteo and inflammatory arthritis. He has been an amazing help and always is encouraging and motivating. Overall all the staff I've had interaction with have been so friendly and nice and professional and can't say enough good things about the experience there. They definitely care and want to help to improve your health and well being.

I went to Orthopaedics Plus with severe shoulder pain. I was convinced I needed surgery for a torn rotator cuff. Within a short period of time, Justin realized that the bulk of my pain was coming from my neck. He also diagnosed me with not listening to my body ! As a former athlete, it was nice to have that in common with him. He understood how my brain worked and used it to his advantage. After several sessions of PT and counselling sessions for my head, my pain is gone! But the best part is the skills he taught me, both physically and mentally, to move forward in a healthy way. I can t recommend Orthopaedics Plus and Justin enough!

I have achilles tendonitis and am coming here for therapy. I've seen Collen, who is excellent, and Todd, also excellent. I've made significant improvement and especially appreciate the advice for home care.

Prior to my first hip surgery, a friend recommended Al as the only PT I should consider seeing to help me recover from surgery and get back to my active lifestyle as soon as possible . I took his advice and I am certainly glad that I did! I've returned to Orthopaedics Plus several times over the years following other hip surgeries and a shoulder injury. Al has always provided me with effective treatment along with thoughtful and detailed exercise routines to follow. I recently went back to see Al for treatment on my other hip. As always, my experience was great! An added bonus was the new location in Bedford...the building is beautiful and more spacious. There is also now a fitness service connected to the new office, Spectrum Fitness Consulting, to help clients transition from treatment to an effective exercise program. I hope I don't need to go back too soon, but I know that when the time comes, l'll be back at Orthopaedics Plus for more first class treatment!

I came here for PT related to sciatica, an ongoing issue for which I have had PT previously from other providers. This time I learned how to continue exercising safely and comfortably using my core and pelvic adjustments - no need to discontinue exercise. Highly recommend this practice to help you learn how best to keep going with your regular activities while your body heals.

I have been coming to Orthopaedics Plus in Bedford for a couple of months now due to an ankle injury. My ankle feels much stronger thanks to Colleen and the rest of the crew - highly recommend for physical therapy!

Todd Swango has been nothing but dedicated and supportive throughout my recovery, providing me with exercises that have truly allowed me to redevelop muscles and the strength I lost post injury and surgery. I m back to doing what I love, and it wouldn t have been possible without his support, as well as the staff here at Orthopedics Plus. The facility is always so clean and the staff here are so welcoming, everyone wants to see you succeed and get back to doing what you love.

When looking for a referral for PT, my PT daughter said that Orthopedics Plus had given seminars to other PTs on the treatment of knees so that was a good sign. Part of my knee is bone on bone. I was not able to tolerate pressure on the knee while trying to sleep. I had a lot of pain when I would stand and walk the first several steps after sitting or lying. I would have to ice the knee for long periods of time to make it tolerable.

Now I can walk the Waltham Greenway for an hour plus and do it 3 consecutive days without any pain or stiffness afterwards. It no longer interferes with my sleep and I no longer limp when I first get up out of bed or chair. How good I that! So thank you Todd and the other staff who have helped me.

Todd is my Pt and is very good with helping my pain. He does all types of massages. Also has me do exercises. Iggy helps out all the therapists when their with clients and gets them started. He has started me with exercises plenty of times. I would rate this a 5* and other patients should come here & join.

It was a fun environment and really helped with the actual problem of why I was going there. Flexible with their schedule also.

I've worked with Orthopaedics Plus a few times over the years and have mostly had complete success. The PTs are friendly and knowledgeable and explain what they are doing so that I feel like exercises have a purpose. I originally sought Justin out because of his expertise as a powerlifter. The first time I saw him was due to bad elbow pain from squatting - he correctly diagnosed what my issue was and helped fix the issue such that I haven't had elbow issues since. Years before that, Todd diagnosed groin tendinitis I was experiencing squatting and once again, after religiously working the exercises he gave me, I have not had any groin issues since.

Since beginning my treatment at Orthopaedics plus my injured area is much stronger and free from pain. I can now walk around without relying on a cane for balance and support. The best part about working with the clinicians and entire staff at OP is how everyone is positive and upbeat, making casual conversations easy and enjoyable. The reasons and methods for various exercises are well explained and demonstrated. I would highly recommend Orthopaedics Plus to anyone seeking physical therapy.

I found Orthopedics Plus to be excellent! I came here after having a back surgery and I feel so much stronger and confident with my movements and mobility. I had Colleen as my physical therapist and she was phenomenal! After every appointment I feel would better than when I walked in. She really listens her to patients and is able to make suggestions for any pain you may be feeling at work or throughout the day. Colleen made every appointment fun and educational! I hesitate to say my experience with Orthopaedics Plus has been a miracle because I realize I will never have a 20-year-old shoulder again. However, in a relatively short time working with Todd, I have seen remarkable improvement in strength, mobility and flexibility. The online experience has been very positive, as well as convenient. It is surprising how well Todd is able to evaluate My condition and make recommendations, despite never having met in person. Judy and the team are amazing! I had a difficult knee surgery (MACI and TTO) and my rehab has been amazing. I highly recommend this team of highly trained professionals.

I was a patient of Justin's for 2 months during the COVID-19 pandemic. I was barely able to walk when I started seeing Justin for chronic back pain that acutely flared up. At first the exercises took me out of my comfort zone and I was skeptical, however after taking his advice, sticking with stretches and doing the "homework", began to see real improvements. I highly recommend and will be returning if any issues should happen again. He gave me my life back!

His office also handled social distancing guidelines appropriately and followed the health and safety regulations set in forth by the MA DPH. It was never crowded, everyone wore a mask and sanitizing stations were plentiful.

I've come to Orthopedics Plus twice for therapy, Judy has been great, helping me with my back and shoulder. I feel confident that I'm getting better and would recommend Judy to anyone.

My daughter has been working with Colleen. She has done an excellent job helping her with her knee and back pain. When I have had questions, Colleen takes the time to answer in great detail. My experience began in in the 90 s when my daughter had back issues. After a few months she was back to her normal. My son had a severe break while on vacation in 2017. Naturally he came here for his therapy. In April of 2019 i fell and broke my humerus, not very humorous. There was no doubt in my mind where i would be going for treatment. Colleen and Justin are the best! My mobility was extremely limited. The everyday tasks we take for granted was very difficult. I cant imagine where i would be without their help. It s been difficult at times but they kept encouraging me to keep going. Would i recommend them? Absolutely without hesitation. I already have and my friend is for ever grateful to them. He had had a bad experience in the past and was amazed at the results. The old saying if it ain t broke don t fix it. Well if it it broke come here and let the team work their magic!

Justin does a fabulous job! He is extremely knowledgeable and makes understanding the physical therapy exercises and reasons for doing them easy to understand. The facility is clean and modern. They do a good job working as a team, helping one another and staying on schedule. Great location!

My husband recommended Judy. Much to my surprise and delight, she and Al had me walking days after surgery. The whole staff is great. The facility is cleaned thoroughly after each patient and everyone wears a mask.

Very satisfied with care I am receiving from Al Visnick after total knee replacement on 7/8. Making rapid progress, hitting key milestones. Very much appreciate Al s focus on me during appointments, his extensive experience, and his hands-on approach to therapy. I especially like that he offers feedback as appropriate. Justin and the his team provided wonderful care and helped me rehab a nagging back injury. He provided a thorough evaluation and developed a treatment plan specific to my needs. I would highly recommend!

This program was a hip replacement rehab. I had a serious hip flexor injury prior to replacement. Then the replacement made the condition much worse. The first period was devoted to reducing inflammation and swelling. The staff (Todd Seanger) carefully worked me through that before any attempt to push for strength. Once I had less pain and swelling he moved me through a long period of flexibility and stretch. It took a lot of time but finally we moved to strength.

I feel the staff is very supportive and very skilled at figuring out what stage I was at and how to move forward. I really did not think the hip would ever recover. But a year later I am very good and able to do all my normal activities.

Spending so much time at the computer, I felt quite a bit of pain and probably needed a new desk chair. So first, I wanted to begin Physical Therapy so I looked up Orthopaedics Plus because of my rotator cuff problems.

After showing Todd a photo of me working at home on my computer, he gave me his opinion of my posture, etc. I worked with Both Todd and Iggy to finally get to my final visit this 31st day of July!

I was referred to PT by my doctor for severe, persistent knee pain. I have a physically demanding job, and the pain was debilitating. Colleen designed a treatment program for me that focused first on mitigating the pain, and then on building strength to stabilize my joints and prevent future injury. She has an evidence-based, practical approach that took into account that I still had to do my job while I was recovering. The facilities are neat and clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I can confidently recommend Colleen and the whole team here- I hope I'm not injured again, but if I am, I know I'll be in good hands!

I have been to PT four times over the past years to be seen for my knees and hips. I have seen Todd Swango which has provided consistency... It is helpful to be remembered and known! Rehab on my knees after surgery went very well both times. And, the PT I received for my hips has been very productive as his findings and treatment revealed what was going on in my hips. In addition, my teenagers have seen Todd, Al and Cheri for sports related things. I can highly recommend all 3 PT s for their thorough care and process. The quality of my life has improved tremendously since starting physical therapy at Orthopaedics Plus. I had constant low back pain for 6 months which effected my sleep and day to day activities. After my treatments, I am stronger and my overall pain has subsided. From the moment I entered the office, the receptionists, therapists and aides, made me feel welcomed and supported. I have been coming to orthopaedics plus for many years for a variety of issues. I have worked with Todd Swango following two knee replacements, 9 years apart, as well as a hip replacement and two rotator cuff repairs. I can't say enough about the excellent care I have received here. Todd got me exactly where I needed to go to regain full range of motion on following all of these surgeries. Judy has taught me so much about the cause of my neck, back, and arm pain. She has given me the tools I've needed to heal, coached me in proper exercise technique and changes to daily living to prevent recurrent injury. She is warm, caring and listens well. Ok well I am a bit biased as I'm related to the owner, but I actually worked with Todd for my post-ACL rehab. I had a great experience with him; he really understood my goals. Todd had a logical progressive plan, but was flexible if there was something specific I wanted to work on or needed addressing. I'm an old washed up athlete but I wasn't ready to give up flag football yet! Thanks to Todd, I am back on the field getting ready to start the next season with confidence. A lengthy rehab after rotator cuff surgery resulted in a complete return to normal function of my shoulder. Justin and his staff provided terrific therapy, consistently in a professional and encouraging manner. Great job!

I received a PRP injection in my right knee with the hope it would regrow worn down cartilage. After 6 weeks I was given clearance to begin light physical activity. Being an avid member of a crossfit style gym, I did not understand what light physical activity truly meant, this is where Judy came in. At Orthopaedics Plus I learned that in order to recover I need to take it slow and realize that even when I am not in pain I can not overload my knee, and potentially undo the progress I made. I now understand that only time, with the help of targeted exercises will heal my knee. The entire staff at OP was always polite and friendly. I feel I connected with Judy and she always had my best interests in mind. I feel like she did not have me on a cookie cutter program. Each day I came in Judy would have me do exercises and perform manual therapies based on how my knee was feeling on that day. I would and already have highly recommended OP to friends and family who are considering physical therapy. Based on the 3 other physical therapists that I have seen in the past, Judy is the most knowledgeable. I feel I learned the most at OP and now have a clear understanding of how to recover going forward.

I want to strongly recommend Orthopaedics Plus. I went into it, admittedly, with some skepticism. But, figured I'd go along with the program, if only to delay the inevitable cortisone shot and / or surgery. After a few visits and a LOT of patient explanations by Justin and his team of what they were doing, I experience tremendous improvement in my knee and hip. And, with the knowledge and tools they provided, I have maintained limited discomfort and full mobility. If I ever need PT again, Ortho Plus will be where I go!

I came into physical therapy with neck and shoulder pain. Cherie helped me learn to change my posture and helped me to become more mobile. The exercises and stretches she taught me dramatically reduced my pain. She is very caring and even after you leave physical therapy, she follows up with you, checks in with you to see how you are doing and is always willing to help.

I came to Orthopaedics Plus with a stress fracture in my right foot, and Judy Antonelli is working wonders for me! Right off the bat I was impressed by how she actually cared about my recovery. We were so very fortunate to have found Amy! My daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 12. After being put in a brace to start middle school, she was nervous and self-conscious. She started Schroth therapy with Amy soon after. Amy was amazing! She was truly an angel during a tough time. She was such an influential support for my daughter. Besides just about correcting her curve through the Schroth method and bracing, Amy was there for support with everything from clothing, to when to have the brace adjusted. We're lucky to have such an extraordinary leader in scoliosis treatment in the area. My daughter also attended many of Amy's Schroth courses for clinicians. Amy is doing great things for those who suffer from scoliosis in sharing her knowledge to help more and more people. I can't say enough about how grateful we are for Amy and Orthopaedics Plus!

I have had extreme shoulder and back issues for over a long time. I have been to many many therapists. Since I have found orthopedics plus I can now see a light at the end of the tunnel. I will never use any other place again. I have been saying what has been wrong with me to many therapists but none of them listened. Now I have somebody who I didn't even have to say anything to. Justin and the team at Orthopaedics Plus have helped me rebound from injury on a couple of occasions. They take the time to listen, evaluate you and create a custom rehab plan for you. And they're great people.

Orthopaedics Plus Physical Therapy has provided me with amazing care for a lower back disc herniation. I went from being in pain all the time, to being able to bike, swim and play with my kids again. I went to Orthopaedics Plus in Bedford recently due to long standing shoulder and knee discomfort. I was greeted warmly by Al and he proceeded to perform a very thorough assessment of all my aches and pains. Al identified what my issues were and immediately provided exercises and stretches to perform. Al watched and provided expert guidance to make sure I was doing each correctly. In most cases I did not immediately perform the activity properly and Al gently guided me explaining the correct form. I appreciated the way Al informed me and this further encouraged me to continue doing the same activities at home. Within just a few short weeks all my & pains were mostly gone. I cannot overstate how impressed I was by Al s overall knowledge, professionalism and sense of humor. I don t think I have actually given a 5-star review before (I am typically very critical), but Al really earned and deserves this rating. I most definitely VERY HIGHLY recommend Al and the team Orthopaedics Plus in Bedford for anyone looking for positive results...

I have worked with Al V over the course of seven years for everything from back pain to prehab/rehab of bilateral knee replacement. The quality of the staff and the effectiveness of the treatment are first rate.

Orthopeadics Plus has the most experienced and knowledgeable physical therapists. I have been using their services for 3 years now for three post op surgeries. It is a very relaxed environment and I always look forward to going. They have helped me to feel better and taught me exercises that can help at home. I highly recommend Orthopaedics Plus!!!

Orthopaedics Plus has helped my back and shoulders. They educated me on how to position my body when performing strenuous activities, and I learned a number of strengthening exercises. I went from being unable to complete physical tasks involving my back, to being stronger than ever. My PT, Justin, is clearly experienced and knowledgeable about his work. He gave me the tools and knowledge to help myself after completing my treatment. I would recommend Orthopaedics Plus for anyone in the area in need of physical therapy.

As someone who's been in and out of physical therapy places for the last decade, I'm very comfortable saying that the Bedford Orthopaedics Plus location is the best PT place I've ever been to. First off, they have the equipment you need to do all types of PT (automated tables, therapy tools, you'd be amazed at the number of places that try to do work without the equipment they need). Second, their mindset is completely focused on getting the patient to be independent, as opposed to squeezing out as many visits from you as they can. And third, and most important, they're technically excellent. As an example, I've had Achilles pain for years; been to a podiatrist and 3 other PTs, all with a focus on my ankle / calf / foot. One visit at OP, and they determined that the root cause of my pain was stemming from my back; a little bit of traction and the pain all but disappeared. They're not miracle workers, of course, but they know their field and excel at giving you the tools you need to take care of your problems. I would recommend them to anyone who is in need of PT.

Todd Swango was great. He helped to stabilize and bring my pain level under control and taught me practical exercises to do at home so I would continue to feel better. He listened to what I was saying to make sure to help me achieve my health goals.

Todd and the rest of the staff at OP are fantastic. Todd was very knowledgeable regarding my injury and how to best support my recovery. All of the staff were friendly and inviting, I was very comfortable being in the clinic and would highly recommend Orthopedics Plus to any of my friends and family.

I love this place! Judy is the best! She has worked wonders with my encapsulated shoulder! She s so easy to talk to and she pushes me just enough so that I m seeing such great progress!
