Amazing & authentic french food with exotic wine selection. Very tasty drinks options. I loved their Czech Please . Good line up for desserts. Lovely staff & reservation is recommended for tables, bar is first come first serve. Parking is limited outside & also street parking is nearby. Chicken dish is was good.
The food is delectable and service was top-notch. My table had the seared sea scallops, roasted duck breast, pan seared snapper, truffle mac n cheese, and roasted oysters. Everything was cooked to perfection. The truffle mac n cheese was by More
French food... super good. I love this place so much. The service here is above par. Bring your hunger - portions are filling. Menu is similar to a restaurant in El Paso I liked.
I love love love Orsay! We usually go to enjoy the oysters during happy hour. It is always a pleasant experience. Sometimes parking can be a bear but other than that the experience is always enjoyable.
We had dinner tonight at Orsay and enjoyed the evening very much. My son and I started with shrimp cocktails and my fiance had the onion soup. The shrimp were great and I especially enjoyed the fresh horseradish in the cocktail sauce. My fiance enjoyed the onion soup which was served piping.
This restaurant deserves five-star rate. Their services are highly commendable. The staff was well-trained and proficient. They are fast and truly know the meaning of excellent customer service. Aside from the ambiance of their resto, their food really caught my attention. A mouth-watering meal course will fill you. They are the best.
Robert was oiur server and he was fabulous. We were very impressed with their extensive wine list which included affordable entries. We chose a great bottle of Margaux. We had the beef stroganoff prepared with short ribs and the fish risotto which had big chunks of bacon. Both were heaven in a bowl. We finished with the chocolate dessert teamed with port. It was an extremely satisfying experience. If there were six stars available, we would give it a six!
Truly a treat with exceptional food and drink service. I also enjoy their brunch although I didn t care for the Bloody Mary. The deviled eggs we delicious!!
I ll start with the highlights. Our waitress was very attentive. Appetizers were fantastic. Marinated calamari was out of this world. I have never had calamari this soft and delicious. Escargot were really good, but I never had them served with mushrooms, so that was a bit different... but it was doable. I asked to add tofu to my shepherds pie and I got it! It was the silky kind and it went really well with the mashed potatoes. The whole dish was delightful and filling. My husband had the trout. He said it was quite good. This is a great little place to experience a little bit of France in Florida.
Wonderful experience. Our waiter was excellent and the food was amazing. The specialty cocktails are delicious. The decor was very modern and warm but I'll be honest, most of my time was spent looking at my beautiful date.
We had "breakfast" for lunch. We had the American omelet and the Bissell breakfast with grits. Everything was delicious! Food came out hot and fresh. The server was on point (Chris). All in all, it was outstanding! We'll be back; I want to try the chicken and waffles.
Went here for a valentines weekend date. The food was amazing! The service staff was attentive to our needs both dietary and otherwise and made suggestions based off what they new about us. Otherwise they allowed us time to ourselves and the food. EXQUISITE! If they have something on special, try it. It definitely is!
IF I COULD GIVE MORE THAN FIVE STARS, I WOULD! Every facet of our experience at Restaurant Orsay was phenomenal. From the very beginning we knew we were in for a treat. We were ushered in by the friendliness of the hostess as soon as we walked through the door, and then immediately introduced an incredibly knowledgeable and courteous server named Chris. The menu is eclectic, with many offerings spun around high-end French and American cuisine. Simply put, the creativity and execution of the menu by the kitchen has to be the best that I've ever experienced. If you're curious about the cocktails, I'd recommend you go for it. Based on the variety of food and drink we enjoyed, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We will be back, but next time, we'll put in a 24 hour notice to be able to try the Beouf Wellington "For Two..." special.
Great place. Staff was knowledgeable and consistently checked on our table. Ordered various items from menu and everything was great. House red wine was delicious.
Food was prepared, executed and prepared very well. Anthony was our server. Did not guide. But, helped us pick our strength courses. Drinks were honest and plentiful. Definitely going back with clients.
Took work clients here for a nice dinner out. Very large wine menu but no sommelier on staff to help you select one. I was expecting very high quality french food but found that it was more on par with a french bistro - much more casual food offerings than what I was anticipating. French sauces tend to be very rich and full-bodied and our sauces on the lobster pot pie and pot roast were broth-like and very thin. I was very excited to order the chocolate eclair for dessert but my hopes were dashed when a tiny, refrigerated, pre-made pastry was brought to the table. Maybe a teaspoon of pastry cream, stale pastry and sweating cold chocolate on top. Swing and another miss. Can't say I would ever bring a client here again much less come when I'm craving authentic french cuisine.
Had the trout spread, mushroom soup and pan seared fish, husband had the beef short ribs. Was so amazing I was upset that I couldn't finish the grits. Service was fanominal and drinks superb. Great anniversary dinner! Atmosphere was nice and comfortable and the bar was fun after dinner.
Best place to eat in Jacksonville hands down. The staff are friendly and well acquainted with the menu including the wines so order isn't super confusing. You pay for this experience and it's very worth it!
I go there and it's on the weekend, I stand by the door for ten minutes, maybe more. Servers walked past me. Finally a girl stopped and asked if I was dining in. She told me they were only on their late night menu which was a menu about the size of a man's hand, with not much else but appetizers... This was a Friday... Shortly after ten. But they obviously were open for the drinking crowd.
Did the beef stroganoff family meal..... Amazing and the desert that came with it was over the top. Also did crucial taunt cocktail it say delicious. Very very good and well worth the price. Will be back soon, next time I'm getting the blue cheese meatloaf!
Tonight was our annual pre- EQFL Gala dinner at Orsay. Once again it was amazing! Our server Jennifer took the best care of it group of 12. Jason arranged everything perfectly. The food, drinks, and service were stellar! This group had some this for the last five years and this year was better than ever. Thank you?
I won't say that it was one of the best experience, but still worth it. Not a great place for vegetarians. They do have a separate vegetarian menu, but didn't find anything interesting.
We were seated immediately with reservation. The service and food is some of the best (if not THE best) that we have ever experienced. We tried the pan roasted fish, and the beef stroganoff, and the French onion soup. The skin on the fish was crisp and well-seasoned. The beef in the stroganoff was perfectly cooked and very tender, with a delicious pasta. For dessert we had a selection of petit fours and all were delicious.
I came for brunch and ordered steak and eggs, but my poached eggs were more hard boiled than poached. The steak was good but the marinade overpowered the flavor of the steak. It didn t come with any potatoes, but there was a salad on the plate that I didn t want. The bread basket was quite good and the cream of mushroom soup was excellent. All in all, it was $50+tip for a somewhat average brunch. I expected more but would give them another try. Parking sucked on Sunday at Noon. I couldn t get in the lot and had to park on the street around the corner.
My wife and I had dinner here for the first time this evening. This was easily the best dining experience we have had in Jacksonville. They really have it figured out. The atmosphere, staff, drinks, and food were all incredible. Thank you for a phenomenal evening.
Orsays is a bit pricy. The steak is always good. The fresh trout was so so. When I made reservation in person the day before I was given a hard time about wanting to eat at 5:00pm. I was told 5:15 would be better. I took my relative there for her birthday and when we were finally walked to our table another staff member made the comment that I didn t look very happy celebrating a birthday. I felt uncomfortable being addressed in such a rude manner. Won t be back.
Had a lovely experience. Atmosphere was lively, yet quiet. Waiter was very professional and knowledgeable. I had the seafood bouillibase and it was divine - scallops, shrimp, fish, mussels, and squid. The escargot was cooked perfectly and a delicious appetizer. Save the bread for the sauce it's cooked it - wonderfully buttery and rich with delicate mushrooms. My husband had the most wonderful crab risotto.
Absolutely fantastic food, drinks, and service. Briana (our waitress) took great care of us. We had family dinner on a Tues night (party of 5). There is not a ton of sitting so fantastic for a more intimate experience. I imagine on weekends it can feel crowded so would recommend a weeknight. Great for special occasions!
My wife and I had a baby sitter so going out tonight was a special occasion. So I have to say Orsay was amazing, we really enjoyed ourself and our waitor Bryan was at the top of his class. We really felt at home and not rushed through our dinner. Bryan was very knowledgeable and professional. We brought a nice bottle of Italian wine in and he decanted it immediately. Thanks
I love the food. I love the service. Also, Very Clean! Loud atmosphere. It can get very loud in the main room. When we went for my anniversary they sat us in the smaller front room, which was much nicer.
Amazing we have driven by many times. Tonight we had a reservation and we went inside. The only word I can think of is AMAZING! Briana took care of us. The food was delicious and we are planning on going back soon..
Amazing food. It's neither fast nor cheap but it's worth the time and money. The dinner is meant to be an event not a quick bite then on to the next thing. The staff is quick to help you and friendly. Everything from the fennel soup to the More
Food is underwhelming and way over priced for what you're getting, had ano eggs and steak Benedict and was bland as hell, even the hollandaise sauce had no flavor.
Food here is wonderful, and the staff is very attentive. We had a business meal here with two of us having the cassoulet with duck confit, one filet, and one tile fish special. All were very good. We started with a charcuterie selection of cheeses, meats, breads, nuts, olives and more. It was delicious and large enough for the four of us. Dessert was a sampler and all were awesome. Location could be better, but the food makes it worth the trip.
The staff was very pleasant. The bread, rockerfeller-like oysters and the pork chop were great. Even the unexpected Birthday dessert treat was neat! But, the grits were too gritty, the vegetable and grits combo and vegetable shepherd's pie were not to our liking. The Trust Us drink combo from Josh was excellent! It was a nice experience but probably won't attend for dinner again.
Yesterday was our 1 year wedding anniversary. They offered us champagne and dessert as well for the celebration (on the house) Our server was magnificent. The restaurant is our favorite in Jacksonville. Yes they are not cheap but you really get what you pay for. No complaints. Great place to eat. Its a hybrid to me, you can dress up and be fancy or be casual. All around great place.
Really delicious Sunday Brunch. Intimate, old building with exposed wood ceiling beams. Highly recommend the eggs with hollandaise sauce, Two Dollar devil eggs, the biscuits and gravy. Variety of oysters ($$$) from various regions.
The food was excellent. I had heard the restaurant was good so I had high expectations. I ordered an appetizer because of the restaurants reputation. I was not disappointed. The appetizer olives were so fresh and so large I have never tasted the like in this country and the way it was served was so nice. The filet mignon was awesome. The interior of the restaurant is beautifully decorated. If you asked me if I had to make one complaint what would it be? I would say I prefer the coffee stronger and hotter. The service was over-the-top excellent. This restaurant is a keeper!
We were a party of eight and we all enjoyed everything we had. Between all of us we had the pastry board, the escargot, shrimp and grits, a breakfast platter, a burger, French toast, a fried pork chop special, king crab toast, steak and eggs, lobster Mac and cheese and French onion soup. recommend
Best restaurant in Jacksonville! Not cheap though, but the plates are all well portioned. One app, two dinners is enough for two people. Get the "just trust us" if you are looking for a cocktail! The desserts are great and wine list is extensive, as is the menu
Probably the best kitchen in Jax. However, the back dining room tables are spaced entirely too close together. Last time I was there, I felt like I was on a very awkward date with the loud couple next to me instead of the woman I was with. The management clearly wants to capitalize on their popularity, but packing as many people as possible into the place at the expense of the overall ambiance is not a good strategy for repeat visits.
For entrees, she had the lobster pot pie and I had the bouillabaise. The lobster dish was more of a deconstructed pot pie but she said there was a generous amount of lobster and the other elements were all delicious. The bouillabaise was a wonderful hearty serving. The broth had a great seasoning.
We went for our anniversary and had a wonderful experience. We started with a charcuterie appetizer during happy hour. The pork chop was delicious and my husbands cassoultte was as well. Our waiter was attentive and friendly and made our night extraspecial.
The most amazing meal I've ever had! Our server Tony was extremely helpful and attentive. We had the tomato tartare, olive oil marinated olives, seared scallops, and an amazing piece of chicken on top of a bed of mushrooms, onions, carrots, and mashed potatoes(normally fingerling potatoes) with the most mouth watering bacon I've ever had(not pork but I can't remember what it was specifically). I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing experience in food and dining. 10 out of 5 stars four thumbs up. Yes I grew extra thumbs just for this review. We came here for our two year anniversary and it might not be a big one for some but it was a big one for us. The price might discourage some but believe me when i say it is beyond worth it.
