Great music venue. The sound wasn't the best I've heard but it was still an awesome venue to go to.
Awesome place to see some amazing bands , beautiful theatre!! It's a seated venue unless the concert is strictly general admission. I've seen "In This Moment" and "The Devil Makes Three" here.
Big names at a classy more intimate venue. Love it!
Not bad. Drinks are expensive but it is a concert venue so that is to be expected.
A favorite venue of mine. Classic old theater with so much character and a cozy feel.
A small venue so know matter were you sit. It's a decent view of the bands
Nice venue. Good location, comfortable seats. Ideal for the act we saw.
Great venue but sometimes the acoustics are a little lacking.
Saw Marilyn Manson in concert here in February 2018. Did meet & greet. The staff was well organized, & the theater is absolutely beautiful. I was very impressed. Would definitely attend a show here again!
Seating is awful im 5'10 an legs were numb after a half hour no shoulder room no leg room not worth it
One of the greatest places I've everI've ever seen a show! Lamb of God sounded so good!!! For real.
Nice view in any sitting but not enough room for elbow and shoulders cz the theater chair is on a smaller side.
Very old building, seats had gum on them. For the price of the tics, I expected more however, a good time was had by all.
Beautiful, historic theatre that is great for concerts.
Wonderful venue for a wedding reception. It seems like only yesterday that I watched movies in the same space.
Good place for a show, nice and intimate. Maybe a little too intimate what with the seats having almost zero legroom. Felt very packed-in. Drinks are waaaaay too expensive but I guess they had to pay for that shiny new sign out front. Place is staffed by the local union that does that sort of thing, which means they're not always familiar with the venue and tend to be dismissive and short with people.
It's and old venue, but sounds great and has helpful staff.
This is such a cozy, personal venue that every seat (or practically every seat) is a good one. Awesome time!
Great venue. Clean, balcony seats were great. Parking close by. Going back again for another show there.
The historic Orpheum Theater is a great place to catch a show or concert. It is an older building but that is part of it's charm.
The seats are small and a bit tight if you are a taller person. The upper level in some spots does not have the best sight lines. Would recommend center view seats if you sit up in those sections. Sound system is good. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Plenty of vendor stations around to grab a drink. Great selection of brews and wine to choose from. It can be a little crowded entering and leaving the building so be patient. If you have not seen a show at The Orpheum I would recommend doing so at least one time.
Of the literally hundreds of concerts I have attended in my lifetime, I have never seen a venue so poorly organized and poorly staffed as this one. It was truly befuddling. It was not the tours/bands either, because I have seen these particular two bands each about 10 times before (I'm a concert junkie). First of all, for the VIP experience, they had us line up outside, took us inside to watch the sound check/meet the bands (were rudely pushed through the line by the venue staff), then made to go back outside to wait for the VIP experience for the second band. Rinse and repeat, and we had to go back outside for a 3rd time to wait for the actual show. This is Wisconsin: do they force people outside in the winter too?? While waiting in the lines outside, we were confused and asked several staff what was going on/where we should be, and were repeatedly met with "I don't know." Not "I'm not sure, but let me help you with that"; just blank stares. Because we had VIP tickets, we were first sent down 2 blocks to the end of the general admission line, then pulled from that line to a second early admission line, then pulled from that line to a third VIP line. This was not a mistake; this was their actual process to make people move from line to line outside. It's terribly inefficient and not good customer service, especially because they were all very snippy about it. Once we got inside, we were met with more staff who didn't have the answers to the following questions: where our seats were, whether or not we could sit in the balcony, whether or not we could leave the venue and come back in, and whether there was food available elsewhere in the building (they don't even know the building they're working in??). Then when we went to get food, the staff person handled both food and money with his bare hands and ignored my mom who was asking to order as well. The whole experience almost ruined seeing two of our favorite bands. The show itself was spectacular, but the experience in the venue made me almost wish I hadn't gone, and certain I won't go back to The Orpheum.
Nice old style theater, but not worth buying lower level seating tickets.
Came here for the first time on 2/17 for Joe Russo's almost dead show. The venue is vintage and intimate (which I LOVE). The staff I interacted with were really cool and the venue had plenty of paramedics on hand, which helps when fellow attendees have had a little too much too fast. Also, there is a snack bar, which I think is brilliant. Thanks for a great night. Will return.
I was stoked to see one of my favorite comedians at this venue. Unfortunately I would never go here again because the seating is so incredibly uncomfortable. The seats are tiny, even for an oompa loompa, and are undescribably uncomfortable. I wasn't able to focus on the show or the comedy. The seating makes everything unwatchable.
Great experience @ cancer benefit. The place has plenty of magic.
Saw Dirty Heads on Nov 18 2017...even being in a balcony I felt close to the stage and the sound quality was excellent. The Orpheum is now home to my favorite concert of all time!
It's a beautiful theater! Parking was near by and located in a good area. They do serve beverages and snacks! I really enjoyed my time here! Worth the trip to see a good band (Snarky Puppy)!
I love the Orpheum. It's a great venue, but things seemed a bit unorganized tonight (9/13, Nick Offerman)
We loved the show! It was so hot inside though with all of those people, it was very uncomfortable.
Old theater. Front seats were just padded folding chairs. Plenty of room though.
Beautiful venue. Multiple bars. Good views of stage most anywhere. Seats not comfortable in gold circle, but still awesome. Nice friendly staff.
This restaurant has one of the classiest atmospheres of any place on state street. I have only been here for drinks. It's a bit too expensive...
I've always had a great time here. From stand up to love music.
While seeing a show I was seated in the balcony section of the theater. The view is nice and you can still see the show even from the "cheap seats". The theater is a bit run down with old carpet and chairs that could really use an upgrade but those are all cosmedics. The only thing I can really complain about was the $9.00 beer.
It's a kind of historic looking theatre. Saw 2 different live shows there.
Tech N9ne was as awesome to finally see especially on 4/20 nonetheless...been to Orpheum many many times for shows before and like usual they never disappoint. Definitely my favorite venue in Madison hands down
The room that we were in was very small and the seating was very tight, even for petite people. I felt like I was hugging my neighbor, but it was nice that they had good acoustics.
My friends and I saw NF. We could hear NF over the bass and tracks. Concert was a good time except for the following.
2nd and 3rd floors were reserved for ticket holders but areas were not clearly marked. My friends and I walked past a ticket attendant and were not asked for proof of seating until a bouncer went through the area and we were asked to go to the lower floor.
Really iconic marquee, and a great place to see a show.
Saw a show here. We came in really late but were still had a decent view of the stage
Beautiful old building with many hallways and staircases. Was there for a concert. Good accoustics and lighting effects. The hall was bigger than I expected.
Went to see a concert there. Very nice place well put together!
One of the better venues in the Madison area... It has an old school theatre feel to it... The floor area is large... And there is a bar on either side
Delightful old theater restored to its former grandure.
Great venue for music. Seen In this moment, Motionless in white, and Vimic. Great performances by all bands. Will come back for more.
Okay place. Stood in line outside for a while before a staff member told people that there was a separate line for general admission so they could have told us that earlier
Only complaint is that if you pay top dollar for seats close to the stage you get these tiny chairs that are placed too close together. Lucky if your neighbors are willing to scootch to the side.
Otherwise, lovely and fun.
Awesome music venue! Been a while since I've been there. Hopefully more bands i enjoy come here! More Hard Rock please!!!!
Chocie between sitting and standing which is nice for a long 4+ hour show. Would go again. Decent audio system
Great old venue...prices are on the rise but still worth a show
Fantastic restoration of an old theater. Great accoustics - saw Postmodern Jukebox in concert - wonderful venue.
