A memory that will stay in my life forever.
My grandad past away and we celebrated his life by coming back to the place he loved. We informed Orocco Pier Hotel of who he was and why we were visiting and they made our visit very special. The staff were fantastic and we can't wait to come back again. Overall very clean and hygienic, the prices were very competitive for the area, and it deserves to thrive with more business. You won't be disappointed well done to all the staff.

Hosted a wonderful wedding. Were extremely helpful with a wheelchair using guest. If you have accessibility issues you need to be aware that there are lots of stairs to all bedrooms and down to the function room. Views are wonderful at night but the function room lighting during the day means the ceremony is silhouetted as all thenatural light is behind the particpants. Food was goid but service took ages between starter and main course. A lot of guests had finished before some were even served. Drinks in function room more expensive than upstairs bar which is a con!

Beautiful venue with great view. The owner found us a table near the window overlooking the bridges. He doesn't speak Italian but he thanked us and greeted us in Italian. Dishes delicious, pity not to have photographed the cutting board with their really excellent Scottish cuisine. Highly recommended for panorama, kindness of staff and great food.

Disappointed. Very slow and poor service. Staff too busy gossiping and uncoordinated. Chicken dish dry and tasteless. Not a complete dish. Very expensive and over priced for what we got. Waited ages for drinks.

As you can read within other reviews this is an amazing location with iconic views of both bridges. Inside the Bar and Restaurant is nice, outside on the Terrace is the opposite, the area is filthy with litter and cigarette ends, it's a pity however it really wouldn't take much effort to tidy the place up.

Amazing location looking over at the old firth of forth railway bridge. Staff are really friendly and nothing is ever any trouble. The bar and restaurant are simply stunning serving beautiful food. The rooms are faultless and very clean. The only downside is the rooms I've ever stayed in don't have much of a view so ask when checking in. Apart from that, simply amazing...

Spectacular views of the Forth Rail Bridge from the restaurant. Don't miss the opportunity to look into the bar through the large plate glass window on the street. The opposite side of the bar also has a large window allowing you to look through the bar to see the iconic bridge. Menu choices are good but drinks are pricey.

We had a meal in the Samphire restaurant here, a large and modern but cozy and warm setting with friendly, professional staff and a decent menu for both food and drinks. Fantastic views of the Forth out of the window, and prices are very reasonable considering the quality and amount of the food served. I would certainly recommend it for anyone looking for a solid place for a meal, but I'd say it's not quite special or unique enough to earn five stars.

Visited for the Samphire restaurant, took a seat in Antico bar first for a couple of drinks. Excellent bar, great cocktails. The view is unbeatable!

Restaurant menu is good, and the food was brilliant, although I felt some of the prices were pretty steep.

We did have an incredible table however, overlooking the Forth Rail Bridge, it was an exceptional view! Staff will keep us coming back, very friendly.

Good pub food with excellent views of the forth rail bridge. Had a couple IPAs and a Cheeseburger. Starter chicken goujons with coconut was good but burger was a little dense for my liking.

Great, friendly staff with experience and attention to detail. I am lucky to conduct Humanist weddings here from time to time. Their events team is always on the ball. I love coming to Orocco Pier. They are an excellent team!

I was here for a work christmas dinner, the staff where polite and helpful. The food was good but some warm Turkey dinners. Small cheesecake square but a delicious sticky pudding, cheeseboard was ok. It was a good night but got cold sitting by a window, vent must of been opened later . I would eat here again and recommend to others.

having had a string of weddings, 3 in the gorgeous location of orocco pier it's become like an old haunt. the views are spectacular - an obvious choice for photos on a summery day or a wintery evening, the bridge comes alive and provides an excellent backdrop for any bride. the food is also really good (sit down meals or buffets) and the staff are helpful and attentive. the drinks however, are ridiculously priced! obviously with no option once you get there, there's an element of charge what you like, which is never helpful when you're going once a week. south queensferry is stunning and easily accessible from edinburgh - go there! - for fish and chips by the water, but don't rock up to orocco if you're just looking for a pint and some scran.

Very good meal, friendly welcome, our meal was disturbed by the rain, we were repatriated inside, at the time of paying the bill, good surprise, a commercial gesture 40% reduction. We were amazed.

A beautiful hotel with beautiful views hidden away in a historic part of the city. The staff were very accommodating even when I lost my room key and the food in the adjoining restaurant was fantastic (I personally recommend the risotto). As a business traveller I will definitely staff here again.

Gave this 4 stars a few months ago as was good however popped in for a drink with friends last night and a very different experience. Service was very slow and it wasn't busy. Inconcistan with the cocktails and charged for drinks we didn't have. Staff not even embarrassed when we questioned the bill. Check your bill before you pay as a lot of palaver to have the problem rectified if paying by card. Would not recommend.

Poor service

Poor service

Booked 4 months in advance for a family celebration but we had a very disappointing visit here. The table allocation was dreadful, right next to the smoking area and the door that was constantly being opened to the smell of cigarette smoke. Then we had to wait for an hour to be served the starters. In the end the whole party had to be moved to another table. The management claimed that we hadn't waited as long as we said when the whole table was complaining.

In summary, it was a dreadful experience for the whole group but mainly for my 80 year old mother whose birthday we were attempting to celebrate.

I can't recommend this place in any way and clearly they're cashing in on the wedding market while other paying guests are second class. We won't be returning and, as a local, I could easily recommend lots of other places that better deserve your custom.

Difficult where to start on how superb the experience was at Orocco Pier. Arrived without an appointment and on a day when a wedding was taking place the bar and restaurant was extremely busy but the staff worked like a well oiled machine and the attention to detail and our needs were second to none. Food was delicious and well prepared. When in South Queensferry a must visit for all kinds of occasions and reasons already looking forward to the next time

Fantastic sea food restaurant, with a beautiful view of the Forth Railway and Road bridges. Every aspect of our meal was excellent. From our welcome on arrival, chat at the bar whilst waiting for our table to be ready, as we arrived a little early, to the food itself which was delicious.

I had mussels to start, followed by sirloin steak with langoustine and scallops. The service was attentive yet relaxed, and we were allowed to take our time and were never rushed.

I will definitely be back.

I got married at Orocco Pier at the beginning of January. The staff were friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. It is a lovely relaxed venue with the star of the show being the view!!! South Queensferry was my dream wedding location and our day at Orocco Pier was just fantastic. Good value for money, good food and extremely helpful staff.

What a fab place to visit, have a drink and admire the views.

You can park in public car park (no charge) about 75m down the road, this Hotel has a great bar with an amazing selection of beers wines and spirits. The weis beer was one of the best I have for some time

Sports on TV or find yourself a quiet area inside or out and enjoy the views.

Great place .. would definitely go back
