Excellent restaurant, I took the local fish with lemon and capers and it was very soft and of delicate flavor.
Great seafood restaurant with great views to the forth. Lovely good. Well priced and very helpful staff who called us a taxi that arrived very quickly.
Took time to find our room booking, when we got to our room it was just Ok...
Party night was very slow to get started. Took 2 hours to get the food out - food incidentally got thumbs down from all of us in our party!
Party night mix mediocre....
We left to go back to our room at midnight, then got woken up for hours with what sounded like a party going on in the hallway for quite some time. So little sleep....
Got up next morning, bending over to put something in the toilet bin I burnt myself on the bathroom radiator - I have notified the hotel since as it got worse throughout the day, but I'm waiting on a response.
Breakfast in the morning was like a calamity, 2 people asking us the same questions.. Room number, coffee/tea, toast, breakfast.. breakfast came out with bacon missing. Toast, coffee were chased up. Coffee was cold much to quickly asked for a replacement and he tried to top up my cold one.in a nutshell quite a stressful experience.
Went back up stairs at 10:55 to find we had all been looked out our rooms (check out 11:00). Had to trek all the way back down to get a new key, run back up, grab our luggage and run a mile with suitcase for a train, because there were no taxis until 13:00!!!
Will I go back for a party night and stay? Seriously doubt it.
Beautiful location and decor. Staff go above and beyond to ensure you have an amazing time there.
Beautiful hotel... just got married there staff are brilliant and so is the food
Just had a lovely meal for father's day , great views over to the bridges . Service was a bit slow, though very busy today. Not an easy place to find parking, even with a blue badge and a 90 year old father. But would definitely recommend it.
Come here for special occasions and never disappointed.
Got married here back in 2007, fantastic night. Been back a few times since for dinner lunch etc and the service has not quite been up to scratch otherwise it would have got a 5 star.
Good views of the ferry bit pricey but do good cocktails
Lively bar with a good atmosphere. Lovely view overlooking the Forth river and views of the three bridges. Large outdoor area with plenty of seating. Food looks good although we didn't eat here. Drinks a bit pricy.
Having visited the bar on several occasions now for food & drinks we have always found the staff welcoming & efficient with a very quick service. A fantastic ambience & amazing views to the bridges. Living in Edinburgh this is a great place to visit with a 15 min train journey. Will definitely be back.
A nice setting for a special occasion. Parking can be a little difficult at certain times if you need to be very close, otherwise it's okay. The food was good with a reasonably wide choice of dishes on the menu. Drinks typically priced for the type of establishment and not too exorbitant. The staff were friendly and efficient, all in all a good experience.
Fantastic hotel, we had room 3 and it had balcony looking over the bridges, the room itself was small but beautiful and extremely clean. The hotel food was first class, we had lunch in Antica bar then dinner in Samphire, both meals were superb. Def will be back
Very good restaurant with a breathtaking view !! The salmon is delicious
Beautiful views of the Forth and the great bridges off the veranda. Good service and nice food
Great location an views, great menu, great service. The only issue is it can understandably get very busy and struggle to get a table
Went to wedding it was amazing food was so good with great views x
Really lovely. Staff were brilliant. Great service. Food was lovely. Although there weren't many vegetarian options but the few there were, were very nice. We we're lucky enough to get a window table, so our meal had the added pleasure of the amazing view over the Forth & three bridges.
Beautiful room, lovely staff and stunning location... lot's to do aswell as it's surrounded by amazing places and thing's to see... loved it
On two occassions we have booked brunch on 1st january immediately following the Loony Dook. In addition to the good food and scenic views, the service throughout the bar and restaurant is excellent. The staff are friendly, patient and can not do enough to make your visit a fun experience.
Samphire restaurant is outstanding for food and drinks, freshness and value, service and variety, so go there
Unfortunately a disappointment, messy bathrooms, long waiting time, over creamy sauce. Aloof waiting staff. Large chunk of fat in the meat dish. Would be good to have a good restraunt with this amazing view. Maybe it was just a bad day for them........
Lovely atmosphere/decor. Great views of the bridges. The food was great with generous portions. Servers were friendly and helpful. Lovely place!
Great place with fantastic views.. Food and drink lovely and staff are ace.. Go and try it
Wrong place for a coffee, despite the great views of all 3 bridges( see picture) ! More a bar/pub and restaurant, but didn't stay to eat so can't comment!
Good atmosphere friendly and helpful staff a pleasant meal .
The brochure will give you the obvious pictures. So yes. The location is superb. Yes the rooms are lovely. Some with great views. Ours had a quiet aircon unit. Prices are a bit like DUBLIN. But not bad for a hotel. But people make it. Serving staff reflect the mood of a generation, bright positive, possibility. Housekeeping staff too. Wonderful. On a day to day basis, the hire is a managed primarily by young people. So there the odd hiccup an older more experienced manager wouldn t make. But that is fine. They know their process and execute it beautifully. Nothing too much trouble. For the wedding itself, their event management was flawless. And I mean to the last detail. Faultless. Perfection. And with a big smile. When you see your bar staff singing along and then the young lady who first served us breakfast is now hugging you in the bar, then you know something is right.
I know. I know. I see the best in people. I give five stars. Well wait till you see the review of the car hire firm. That won t be even a one.
Thank you.
Food was really good, nice atmosphere only issue was the service was slow. I would go again.
Fantastic few days away celebrating friends wedding hotel was lovely rooms were gorgeous nice and clean staff couldnt be anymore helpful made us feel very welcome food was really good plenty options to choose from would defo go stay again very good value for your money xxx
The staff are very friendly, the food is delicious, the rooms are cosy and clean. There is a very nice atmosphere and the views of the Forth Bridge are just phenomenal.
Fantastic every visit. We've been for a handful of meals and events (including random trips) and the quality of service is consistent. Food is delicious and fairly priced, views are fantastic and staff seem to actually enjoy their jobs. Try the sea bass!
Very popular bar with resturant and accomodation. If you want food at the restaurant make sure you book. Bar food is run of the mill but good selection of drinks and specialist.
Was at the hotel for a meeting. Very nice hotel, good location despite parking being sparse
Good location with a great view and reasonably priced drinks. Staff are really nice too
Love the views from here but there is an air of pretentiousness about.. food not as good as it once was.
Excellent RNLI and Bikers Cove event in the function room, friendly bar staff and good buffet.
Everything was good.. 6 people different meals all VERY good.
Location is great. Unfortunately our reserved table seemed to be the only table in the restaurant without a view. Very disappointed as this was the whole reason we booked here. To top it off, the food was decidedly average. I wouldn't go back, except maybe for a beer
Booked directly and not through booking.con. to let the hotel have the full price and not a 20% fee to the booking sites. Great views, comfortable bed, fabulous food, lovely staff and good value for money. Would encourage everyone to book directly with hotels.
Have visited few times to discuss our upcoming wedding in the orocco pier. Everyone has always been lovely and helpful! The place is beautiful and view is gorgeous. Can't wait to have our day there.
Lovely small hotel. Trendy, clean and with such a wonderful setting looking out over the Firth of Fourth.
Overall my meal at the restaurant was ok, the portions were fairly small, potatoes were a bit undercooked and steak was just ok. Lovely views, staff were friendly and catered for gluten free.
Orocco Pier is a refreshing asset to South Queensferry, offering exceptional views from the glass wall in Antico cafe/bar, Stylish dining in Samphire bar & grill, Host to a selection of events in Fuchsia event suite, al fresco dining with water feature on the Terrace and 17 very modern bedrooms.
Lovely setting overlooking the three bridges over the forth, great food and service. Could turn the music a little to make it easier to talk.
Fantastic food, great views, excellent service, if it provided a dog friendly area it would win an easy five star, as it stands I had to argue for some time as to whether removing a point for lack of dog friendliness was fair but ultimately decided it wasn't. Highly recommended and usually my first port of call in South Queensferry. Please consider allowing dogs into the bar area.
Food and drink is all great but very expensive and couldn't accommodate a group of 8, had to split into two groups of 4 which damaged the social flow of the event. The staff, however, were very polite and friendly.
Room not upto standard as it was smelly. Brought it to managements attention. Chose not to stay
Firstly it's the people that make a venue and to start with when we arrived we were early so we were sat at the bar . Setting the tone of the night was the bartender . Guy was a credit to the venue made a cocktail that wasn't on the menu for my wife ( her fav drink) . He set the tone for a great night . Waiter was very friendly and talkative and table and view was second to none . Beautiful firth of forth sunset . We had the soup ( carrot and corriander) packed with flavour and the prawns ( very tasty) . Then a lobster thermidor each ( not cheap but well cooked ) . Desert and coffee to end . Not a cheap night but loved the food and the view was worth the money spent .
Will definetly go again ( but the tables by the window a must )
Thank you orrocco pier lovely
Food excellent service great and lovely view over the Forth and the railway bridge
All style and no substance. The food is over priced and average. If you would like a nice meal with a view of the water line and bridges. Go get some fish and chips and chill on the water front, save your money for a less profiteering organization.
what ever you do, do not book your wedding at the Orocco. I have inside information on the goings on in the kitchen and the standards they operate at.
Only saving grace is most of the staff are friendly and helpful.
Amazing venue attentive staff and the food was beautiful..faultless
