Orlando Physical Therapy Review

When it comes to finding a PT or in any specialty, everyone hopes that they can find a someone who will at least meet the standard in knowledge and patient care. Dr Orlando definitely exceeded my expectations. As a weekend warrior and some luck, I had achilles surgery and physical therapy in NYC. Chronic back pain eventually set in but not improving. Luckily, there's no shortage of PT, chiropractors, and spine specialists in town. Dr Orlando came a a recommendation from a friend. Another admission is that the office was close to my place.

With a background in osteopathic medicine, I was impressed with this knowledge and how much that I learned with each session. My brother also visited him after seeing how my back pain improved in such a short period of time.

After referring pregnant patients to him, they've come back to my office with glowing and similar reviews. Dr Orlando is the most warm-hearted, caring, and attentive to their needs. His experience is clearly visible. Every technique, procedure, and exercise plan are clearly explained.

I first came to know Orlando Physical Therapy in 2015, when after several consultations with an orthopedic surgeon and a round of MRIs I was diagnosed with Chondromalacia. I was told to do 4 months of PT and if symptoms don t improve consider a surgery. Wary of surgery, skeptical of PT, but in pain I decided to give a try.
During my first visit, Dr. Orlando spent about 25 minutes examining me (which is more time than the surgeon spent with me during my 3 visits combined) and said that he believes I have hamstring strain, not Chondromalacia. He pointed me to a knot deep in my hamstring (had to press strong to feel it) and said that the scar tissue from the strain causing the pain. Doc used some metal tool, which I later learned called graston to break down the tissue immediately I felt much less pain. Over the next 3 weeks, I did the graston and strengthening achieving a full recovery.
I was sold on dr. Orlando, so when a few months ago I developed a patella pain in a different knee (turned out to be runners knee), I chose to go directly to him, bypassing a knee surgeon. Again, he did a thorough examination and prescribed a therapy consisting of graston, taping and exercise. I am in my week 3 and had a first run without much pain yesterday. If you are in search of PT, I strongly recommend Orlando Physical therapy because of his:
1) Clinical approach address the root cause and not just symptoms
2) Clinical knowledge he knows the body and how it reacts to therapy. Yes, you can tape your knee home, but it will not be as good as when he does it.
3) Graston technique I am a big believer, to me it s like a deep tissue massage when you break knots , which are scar tissues. Graston allows you to reach very deep, something you can t do with just your hands.

Dr. Orlando is an outstanding physical therapist. He has helped me over come multiple injuries ranging from back pain to knee pain. His care has been exceptional, he is hands on and is up to date on the latest treatment modalities. Before seeing Dr. Anthony Orlando I was in a very bad physical and mental state due to numerous injuries that I had suffered while playing Division 1 football. Overtime the injuries only continued to get worse. My lower back was in constant pain. The pain was so bad I thought I was going to have to quit my job that requires me to do physical labor. I was referred to go see Dr. Orlando from a stranger who saw me in the grocery store wincing while I walked. It must ve been a Saint . Dr. Orlando instantly provided me with positive recognition that I will get through this situation. Anthony was able to improve and restore mobility and reduce my pain. At the end of August of this year I got into a bad car accident and fractured my L4, L5 vertebrae and sacrum. Subsequently I damaged my spinal chord causing me to lose feeling and function of my lower extremities. I was discharged from Kessler Rehab on October 19th and started working with Dr. Orlando on October 28th. I first came to him in a wheelchair with limited mobility and strength. Just over a month later and I'm walking on my own and building my strength back up so much faster than I thought. Even my neurosurgeon is surprised at the progress I'm making. Dr. Orlando's astounding physical therapy skills and great attitude have proven to be the driving factor in my success in recovery. I'm at a point that I did not think was possible before working with Dr. Orlando. His experience alone surpasses that of the PT's that I had at Kessler and Morristown Medical center. I definitely recommend seeing Dr. Orlando for your physical therapy needs.

I had a labrum surgery wherein 5 anchors were surgically installed. I have been prescribed physical therapy for various sports related injuries in the past and I am aware that the weeks/care post surgery are just as important as the surgery itself for an expedient and full recovery. I researched physical therapy locations and I chose Dr. Orlando because he offered 1:1 physical therapy (which is not common) and felt it would be the key to my success. I am 5 weeks in post surgery and I am doing great and getting back to normal life. I strongly recommend Dr. Orlando for anyone seeking optimal treatment.

I don't usually write reviews, but when the treatment is as exceptional as I received from Dr. Orlando, I feel obliged. As an oral surgeon myself, Dr. Orlando is my go to physical therapist for my patients who have been suffering from TMJ discomfort and are now pain free for the first time in years. I have been seeing Dr. Orlando now for several months regarding a shoulder impingement issue and every time I see him my shoulder feels immensely better. Most places simply stim, heat, ice, and then send you on your way. However, Dr. Orlando and his staff will assess your issues and fitness level, give you some exercises to do Bith st the clinic and at home, and then focus your sessions on 1-on-1 time with the Doctor. Dr. Orlando has used various techniques on my shoulder during my visits including, Graston, Dry Needling, Active Release, Active Icing, etc. He makes it a point to give each patient 1-on-1 attention to better personalize your recovery. If there were six stars available, Orlando PT would certainly deserve them. This is not your typical physical therapy where you go and do exercises that you could do at home. At Orlando PT, it s a hands on experience. I pulled my hamstring and had been going to a typical PT place with very little relief. I chose Dr. Orlando because he offers graston. So instead of spending time doing exercises with very little hands on, these appointments were all hands on and I felt relief quickly. I couldn t toe my toes when I first started going but within two weeks I could. I have since been back for other ailments and have gotten equal results.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Orlando, Dr. Iype and the Orlando Physical Therapy staff. I had severe back pain that prevented me from sleeping through the night and preforming at my job effectively. After 2 weeks, my pain had significantly decreased and I was able to work and sleep better. It was not only their physical treatment plan, but also their mental approach. They listened to everything I had to say and each session was 1:1, which helped me focus on my goals. Without any reservation, I highly recommend this practice!

I will forever be a fan of Dr. Orlando and his team. I hurt the left side of my neck and they swiftly got me an appointment. They took my health history (I had hurt the opposite side 2 years before and went to another PT during that time), and the time to understand from where the intense pain was coming. Their holistic approach, which included acupuncture for me, had me sleeping again at night and feeling better in no time. Soon, my neck (and shoulder) were feeling 100% better, but the other side was acting up. There was no judgment or shame when I told them, and they set to work treating my right side, too. I soon noticed my posture was better and became aware of what the potential issues could be. They listened and we worked together. Their original plan never fully changed, but they included additional exercises according to my feedback. I very much felt a part of my recovery. The exercises given were easily done at home. I didn't need fancy equipment. Nor did they make me feel that progress could "only" happen in their gym, under their supervision. I started doing a yoga and pilates class online again(!!) and they encouraged me. I realized I had stopped doing several things I enjoyed due to shoulder pain. I really feel Orlando Physical Therapy cares about their customers and the customer experience. I've been recommending Dr. Orlando, and his team, to all my friends because I truly feel that getting back strength and mobility has improved my life 1,000%. I thought maybe it was just age (I'm only 46 years old) or lack of motivation, but it was more than that. It was truly something that could be improved with the right physical therapist and right holistic approach. It's made such an incredible difference.

I went to Dr Orlando for 2 years after I tore my pec. He did such a good job getting my chest tear back to where it was before. I figured why not tell him about my bad back and knee pain that I had for years. He ended up taking care of those problems also not just by doing therapy but by also teaching me strengthening exercises and what was causing me to have those issues. He has many tools and techniques in his practice including Graston technique , A.R.T, K-Taping. His office staff is also excellent and very accomadting, always making time and responding to messages quickly.

I ve been to PT before and there was always a disconnect between the therapist and the patient. As if to say that the physical therapist would just give you an exercise to do and then you were on your own. Dr. Orlando was COMPLETELY different. He stayed with me the entire time and made sure that my form was good. He then sent me home with a regiment that I could take care of at home along with videos and access to his patient portal. I could not have asked for a better experience. If you need PT, definitely give him a call. The staff was great and so was he.

I had a knee injury after skiing and they were able to diagnose it accordingly and provide me with exercises that helped me recover quickly. Josie is an amazing acupuncturist with a gentle touch. It was my first time trying acupuncture and she was very reassuring and tailored our session to make it that I was comfortable with every needle used. Anthony is terrific! I ve had tight shoulders for years now and he s taking a very specific approach that s completely catered to my condition. He really takes the time to analyze the situation and determine what the best way forward is. For each incident: frozen shoulder, plantar fascias, or broken bone in my foot, I have been treated professionally and courteously. And my pain was relieved. I am being treated for severe low back pain. I saw every MD in the book and went to 3 different PT places before I came across Orlando Physical Therapy, and thank goodness I did.
I was pleasantly surprised by Dr. Orlando's unique mind-body treatment approach which relies less on physical exercises and more on the mind-body experience via manual therapy techniques. He goes out of his way to create a very calm and relaxing environment with dim lighting and soft relaxing music. He is extremely compassionate and listens to every word you tell him without being interrupted. I come out of his treatment sessions on a natural high and feeling pain free. This guy is the real deal, give him a shot you won't be let down.

I was misdiagnosed at the ER with a torn hamstring. I went to Dr Orlando the next day and he diagnosed that I had damaged in Meniscus and started treatment straight away. Straight after treatment my pain level had dropped. I was sent exercises via an app to do at home. I found this incredibly helpful. The next day I was pain free and able to put my foot down. Two days later I was able to move around without crutches. It is hard to believe after a couple of treatments I am well on the road to recovery. I can highly recommend Orlando Physical Therapy.

Dr. Anthony Orlando has a unique approach to addressing physical therapy needs within a regiment of strengthening and toning the entire body. His highly individualized program is totally tailored to the specific needs and the bodies reaction to the applied therapy. Going to Orlando was a great experience. I showed up with two main issues one was a hip that always pushed out to the side when i leaned forward and a right shoulder that always hurt. I've been to numerous therapists and Orlando was able in one session to make a big positive impact on my hip and shoulder. He used Graston, dry needling, and a few other techniques. Overall I would highly recommend him.

After suffering from a herniated disc caused earlier this spring I started seeing Dr. Orlando for bi-weekly (and later weekly visits after symptoms began to lessen), and could not be happier with the results. I visited Dr Orlando because i have been in pain while working out for a while. Since i trained very hard in college for sports i have definitely done some damage to my back, and he immediately knew how to assess me properly and gave me workouts that he knew would not further put me in pain using MOPT. Wonderful experience! Had an injury with my knee after a hockey injury and could barely put pressure in it. After 30 minutes, I walked out of here without a limp and felt a lot better. Would definitely recommend.

I started seeing Dr. Orlando for my chronic neck and lower back pain. Firstly, he conducted an in depth evaluation of my flexibility and range of motion while also being attentive to my descriptions of my injury and pain level.

Dr. Orlando used a variety of therapeutic techniques catered to my injury such as Graston, Yoga oriented stretching, and strengthening that helped me heal faster and improve my overall flexibility. I enjoy his open minded approach and have seen significant improvement to my overall health.

Overall, Dr. Orlando is friendly, knowledgeable and treats each patient with individualized attention. I highly recommend.

From the minute I walked through the door I was treated with care and expertise in treating me for pudendal Neuralgia/pelvic pain. I have pain radiating from the femoral cutaneous nerve & the Obturator muscle, that misfires and causes hypersensitivity and pain in the thigh/hip area.
The front staff girls are sooo nice, friendly and respectful to each and every patient. The office is also accomodating with their schedule as they have early morning appointments or evening appointments which was another plus.

Anthony Orlando fulfills those requirements in spades. He leads with factual diagnosis based on a honed understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology, then matches that to relevant, directed therapeutics. I was flat on my back last week with prominent lumbar spasm. Anthony has me back on form and fully functional. That s impressive!

Dr Orlando is phenomenal. While training for the 2017 NYC marathon, I started having bad knee, heel, Achilles, plantar, and calf pain. Dr. Orlando introduced me to the Graston Technique which pretty much cleared up most of my complaints. He takes the time to listen to your problems and address them accordingly, as opposed to a one-size-fits-all approach that some PT providers use. Definitely would recommend!

Anthony is a true professional. I had a very incomplete diagnosis from my ortho doc, and Anthony worked on me for about 30 minutes and we figured out the root cause of my issue (it was/is a very atypical injury/condition). I am confident if it wasn t for Anthony I would have proceeded with a more typical/easy (and WRONG) diagnosis!

I saw Dr. Orlando for lower back pain and I have to say his 1:1 approach was amazing. He is very attentive and listens to everything you have to say. I had been to 2 other PT places and the experience was terrible. It felt like a cattle call and there was very little privacy. Orlando PT has private rooms which have a spa like feel in them. I highly recommend this place and his approach .

I would recommend Dr Orlando to anyone and everyone who needs professional and personal physical therapy in Northern New Jersey. We took our infant son to see Anthony when we first moved to Hoboken in 2013 for torticollis. He was great with him and Owen loved going to see Doc. My son is now a very healthy and active 4 year old.

A few months later I had to see Dr Orlando for a dislocated shoulder, broken collar bone and torn rotator cuff. After a lenghty rehab, I have complete use of my left shoulder and no lingering issues from the injury. He is incredibly knowledgeable, patient and gave me plenty of exercises to perform between visits.

A few months later I slipped and fell on ice in front of our building and broke my right femur bone. Again, Doctor Orlando came to the rescue. He is a great Doctor, an even better father and I consider him a good friend.

Amazing physical therapist facility in Hoboken! Anthony makes his patients a priority and that's something a lot of therapists fail to do. He makes sure all of his patients are comfortable while they're getting treated. His techniques will have you feeling better in no time!

I originally went to see Dr. Orlando because I pinched a nerve in my neck taking care of my newborn. When I arrived I was in so much pain that I couldn't lift my arms or turn my head. Thanks to Dr. Orlando's care, within a week I was back to being able to hold my baby again.

Now I'm taking his MOPT (Medically Oriented Personal Training) program - which combines personal training with physical therapy - to help me get back into shape. Thanks to a few bad experiences I had avoided personal trainers, but Dr. Orlando makes me feel super comfortable and I don't have to be afraid of injuring myself with his program. The best part is, after every workout I get a physical therapy session in one of his soothing rooms to tend to my sore muscles. You can't beat that!

My experience with Dr. Orlando was amazing. I was completely nervous about my dry needling session because I am extremely afraid of needles but he made me feel right at home. I highly recommend Dr. Anthony Orlando to anyone who is receiving PT for the first time and is nervous or afraid.

Okay, so I have been meaning to post a review for Dr. Orlando for a while now. My husband has gone to him, and I have referred him to many friends (including ones who needed treatment for their newborn babies) so I have seen and heard of how he is a miracle worker. But recently I had to see him myself and so now I feel compelled to post this because I can tell you firsthand that he is simply the BEST. He seriously works magic, sometimes with the simplest little movements that make all the difference in the world. He is super smart, talented, considerate and funny- honestly he is just awesome to be around which makes the sessions a lot less painful.

Added bonus- unlike most PTs in Hoboken he is a DPT which is a Doctor of Physical Therapy. And his office staff is really nice.

I have MS and every one at PT is great with me and work on getting stronger and helps to improve walking ability. I highly recommend them and the acupuncture lady Josie is wonderful!!

The level of caring and expertise at this practice is surpassed by none. Anthony and his team treated my daughters sports injury and got her up and running quicker then we could have imagined.
