Absolutely the worst experience today. I've been here before for a few low level emergencies and it wasn't terrible-but certainly nothing amazing. However, today I brought in my young son presenting for dyspnea and severe asthma. Nurse or assistant at registration was nice, but the intake nurse has a serious attitude problem. We have amazing insurance, and just tried to do what was best for our child. She started out nice enough, but then when I questioned the treatments, dosages, and what the radiology review showed, she got very angry. Rather than simply explain, or let the dr tell us why he chose to treat in such a way, she became verbally aggressive. When asked about the possibility of transferring a pediatric patient to a more pediatric appropriate facility, I was told they would not transfer anywhere. Shame on her for misreprentation of Orchard Hospital doing what's right and best for the patient. She demanded I sign AMA papers tho I repeatedly asked to just speak with the dr. Finally signed them, while my oxygen dependent son was struggling to breath, was told to go and then she tried to withhold scripts the intern was insisting we be allowed to take. At some point she even began arguing with the respiratory therapist on my son not needing treatment. We took him to Sutter, which was well worth the drive. They are absolutely horrified at the care and inability to recognize when a person patients should go to a peds appropriate hospital. Turns out that the treatment from Orchard also could have done more damage than good. Thankfully we got appropriate care from Sutter. We will be reaching out to the appropriate people for Orchard as well as the medical board. Beware going here, as this bad day certainly would have become a tragic one because of Orchard Hospitals neglect.

I had a vasectomy at Oroville hospital and was told I could go to the lab at orchard hospital afterwards for the required testing. I called orchard hospital to see when and where to bring my sample. I was told they don't do that kind of test there. How does a hospital laboratory not do sperm count? I have never had a good experience at orchard hospital. I'd rather deal with any sickness that befalls me than have to visit this hospital ever again. There are so many things they don't do, it makes me wonder what it is they do there if anything. Worst hospital in this area, go anywhere else.

Not only is the staff rude and unprofessional but the place looks absolutely disgusting. So it wasn't a surprise when channel 12 action news reported that there was a covid outbreak at this hospital with nearly 50 people (16 staff and 32 patients) contracting this potentially deadly virus. The question is do you want your loved ones coming to this hospital.

Orchard Hospital was absolutely amazing from the moment I walked through the doors. They helped me out of my vehicle and got me in right away. From the registration clerk to the nurses, I could feel the compassion. They kept me well informed about my treatment and test results. They were polite, professional, and had an amazing bedside manner.
I highly recommend Orchard Hospital! Keep up the great job, and thank you for caring for me and getting me back on my feet.

This is the worst place I've ever been. There's an old caucasian lady that's really rude, they told me they don't offer covid testing while their Site said yes. On top of that they said we don't want people to know that we offer testing here because they will flood the place and they will put everyone in danger. But aren't hospitals made for emergencies? Didn't they go to college to prepare for any situation in the medical field? Yes they did.

This would have been a fantastic experience if it hadn't been for one nurse, who was so extremely rude and had absolutely zero empathy whatsoever. She even had the audacity to talk badly about her own hospital and told me I was wasting my time going there. I have every right to choose what hospital I want to go to and questioning my concern for my health was beyond unprofessional. I've never met a nurse with a more disgusting and off-putting personality than this one. She should be fired. The doctor and the rest of the staff were phenomenal. This lady needs to go live alone in the woods somewhere and try not to eat any children.

Please read. I am writing this review to express my recent experience at Orchard Hospital and to bring your attention the fact that I received extremely rude and unprofessional service from the Intake RN.
I brought my daughter to the ER because she had trouble breathing in the morning and please note my daughter suffers from severe obstructive and central apnea. From the very beginning of our visit the Intake RN who was taking her O2 levels at registration was very rude to me and my daughter. Keep in mind, I was not expecting the Intake RN to be warmer or more caring, but her attitude towards us was rude and unprofessional. Once we got checked into a room the Intake RN continued her rudeness and started to speak to me in a condescending way. Keep in mind my daughter is hyperventilating, scared and anxious at this point from not being able to breath and the Intake RN was making things worse.
I believe it s my responsibility as a Gridley resident to report this nurse s behavior to the Public, Relations Manager and CEO for this unprofessional behavior. I don t know what to think for her reason of her behavior. Was I discriminated against because of my race or my daughter being of mixed race? Unfortunately, I will never know, I can only wonder.
I expect nurses should always be respectful. Whether the nurse was having a bad day, it doesn t mean it was ok for her to do it at a time of distress. Rudeness should not be a characteristic and trait of a nurse.
I did hear back from the Relations Manager and explained to her in more detail of her behavior but never got an acknowledgement from Mr. Stark, CEO that my email was received.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review.
PS - The RN who assisted us after the Intake Nurse treated us with respect, compassion and professionalism.

The registratration personnel and security were more than helpful and kind, however the ER nurse was not. The first thing out of her mouth was that the hospital was full and didn't have a bed available for my son who just had surgery and having complications with extreme swelling and pain. She had no listening skills and absolutely no Compassion for her patient who by looking at his symptoms were in obvious pain! Blood pressure sky rocketed, heart rate up and very Diaphoretic. Im so disappointed in our local hospital.
