Please read. I am writing this review to express my recent experience at Orchard Hospital and to bring your attention the fact that I received extremely rude and unprofessional service from the Intake RN.
I brought my daughter to the ER because she had trouble breathing in the morning and please note my daughter suffers from severe obstructive and central apnea. From the very beginning of our visit the Intake RN who was taking her O2 levels at registration was very rude to me and my daughter. Keep in mind, I was not expecting the Intake RN to be warmer or more caring, but her attitude towards us was rude and unprofessional. Once we got checked into a room the Intake RN continued her rudeness and started to speak to me in a condescending way. Keep in mind my daughter is hyperventilating, scared and anxious at this point from not being able to breath and the Intake RN was making things worse.
I believe it s my responsibility as a Gridley resident to report this nurse s behavior to the Public, Relations Manager and CEO for this unprofessional behavior. I don t know what to think for her reason of her behavior. Was I discriminated against because of my race or my daughter being of mixed race? Unfortunately, I will never know, I can only wonder.
I expect nurses should always be respectful. Whether the nurse was having a bad day, it doesn t mean it was ok for her to do it at a time of distress. Rudeness should not be a characteristic and trait of a nurse.
I did hear back from the Relations Manager and explained to her in more detail of her behavior but never got an acknowledgement from Mr. Stark, CEO that my email was received.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review.
PS - The RN who assisted us after the Intake Nurse treated us with respect, compassion and professionalism.
