I like going for Sunday brunch, but it's pretty darn expensive at this point. But then again so is El Torito, so if you're going to spend your money go to Orange County Mining Company and enjoy yourself it's a champagne brunch

They serve a variety of salads and appetizers buffet style included in the entree you buy. Food was okay, it did not really impress me all that much as I have been to places that had better steaks. I still gave them 4 stars for the ambience and the view of the city with great customer service.

We consistently run into service and quality issues at this restaurant. The bar and view are amazing, but unfortunately we no longer plan to dine here based on all of our negative experiences. There's much better dining available out there, I would avoid the mining co.

One of my favorite spots to eat. On your way up the hill it can be a little crazy because its narrow and full of tight turns. However, it's worth the journey and there's a positive effect to a difficult entry and exit... It acts as a filter to prevent drunk driving... Anyone who has a little too much to drink would be wise to uber or taxi home because otherwise there is a great chance they will just drive off of the mountain before colliding with anyone else.

After you complete the drive you will be greeted with a fairly convincing experience that looks like an entrance to a mine shaft. Once inside you will have the opportunity to wait for your table at the bar, with panoramic views of Orange and Los Angeles County. Or just wait for your table which will also panoramic views of the southland.

I'd recommend reservations as the wait can be unpredictable. The food is great. Freshly prepared with high quality ingredients. With that comes a little bit of a wait. Which if you are seeking quality, you are going to want food that is freshly prepared every time. You won't be hungry though. With fresh cheese bread, prompt appetizers, and a salad bar with every entry you will pass any time filling up on soup, salad, and panoramic views.

If you enjoy Black Angus, Claim Jumper and the likes, it will be difficult to go back after OC Mining Co. Priced accordingly and a good value but it is more expensive than other restaurants in this class. Do not expect coupons or specials, come for great service, food and atmosphere.

We like to celebrate family birthday's here because the food is excellent, the view is excellent, the salad bar is great and the service is aleays very helpful. I ordered the Eastern Prospector (14oz New York steak) with mashed potatoes which also comes with all you can eat soup and salad bar. The steak was huge more like 16-18oz, so I cut it in half. I ate on half and still had the other half left with ally mashed potatoes for leftovers the next day.

I was there for Easter Brunch, the food and the service were great. The Beef Ribs were as tough as nails.. all other 15 Entrees were delicious. However, they need new carpeting, it was so stained and filthy that it turned my stomach. This place would look great with Hardwood Floors. Also, I heard a woman complain, who arrived when the brunch service was almost over that every plate had been hand cleaned all were stained with leftover food. And went knocking on the kitchen door to find the manager. The bus boy was sweeping the carpet and used the same dirty broom, to sweep off the vinyl booth seats. Tacky! The Valet guys did an excellent job parking more cars then the parking lot could handle.

We attended brunch the day that they re-opened brunch (after closing for COVID). I'm sad to say that we were very disappointed. The food was good as always but no one seemed to know which table was which. This resulted in servers wandering around with plates of food and not knowing where to bring them. We also sat at our table 1 full hour before our order was taken. Would go back for the champagne and cinnamon roll but it was a complete mess other than that. They mistakenly brought us another table's credit card at one point as well.

Night times views looking out over the lights of Orange area are spectacular. I went for a buffet dinner for a large party and the cocktails were pricey. Food was better than average for being in a buffet style with large portions. Nothing stood out as spectacular.

Be prepared for $6.00 valet for Sat dinner. Restaurant was busy but staff was friendly and accommodating. Our party of 4 was sat right away while other bigger parties had to wait. My prime rib was just right but the garlic mashed potatoes tasted like plain mashed potatoes. Good cheesy table bread. It's a good date night restaurant with the nice view.

The long wind driveway is not safe for a two-way traffic. Almost rode off chiff. Cost for food received was a little bit much. Although, the food was excellent, the service was very good, the atmosphere was pleasant and the restrooms were maintained.

Went here for brunch last week. The concept is cool but the food was mediocre at best and the price.. completely disconnected from reality. In the spirit of full disclosure, we had the brunch buffet so ordering off the menu might be a bit better but I don't think I'll go back to find out. Life is to short for mediocre!

This place is a very cozy place, not too laid back but not too formal. The food is very good and the view is just the cherry on top. But of course you wonder: so why not 5 stars? Well I went for a company event at OCMC as the kids know it by (not really) and I really enjoyed it. I took my daughter along and she also really enjoyed the above mentioned... until the dinner service began. We had a choice of chicken or steak and it was going well until I clearly asked for steak, even had a little paper saying steak and got chicken not once but 2 times. When I mentioned it the first time the server said "I'm sorry I can't change it." "Ummm why not?? " I replied and the server said "that's what you are getting." Now obviously I was about to get upset when my co worker says " hey, I'll have the chicken, I don't want steak" at which I figured hey, things are going to work themselves out. So I wait for the other round of plates coming and... chicken AGAIN!? This time I point out to the server and point out my little sign BUT-- he apologizes and makes things right. And so we also get SOME ( because obviously heavens forbid an open bar on company dime right?) drink vouchers and I head over to the bar. SOME mixed drinks, wine or ONE type of beer only. Ok, maybe the company went the cheap way, but what bothered me and everyone else as it turned out later was the attitude of the bartenders. Hey, yeah you probably don't make the same money as you would on a regular day with regular customers, but if you hate being there so much, call out, take the day off, WHATEVER! Don't bring that negativity to a Christmas party! Besides that the hostess at the front were great, welcoming and seemed like they were glad we were there. Can't say the same thing for the rest of crew. And you can see those little details almost made me forget, I had a nice seared steak medium how I like it with a nice sauce that added to the flavor, mushrooms, really tasty mashed potatoes from scratch (you can tell from the texture and the pieces of the skin inside, and crispy vegetables. I would definitely like to come back and see if I get a better experience with a smaller party because another thing that bugged me was how rushed the service seemed to be. I get that we had some sort of time limit, but that's another thing... If we were allowed past a certain time there why would they close the bar earlier than that time?? Like I said, I want to give them another shot because I think the good definitely outweighs the bad and I'm a firm believer in second chances. To be continued...

The food is pretty good but not great (although it's not super expensive either, so it's well worth what you pay), but the mining decor is nice and cozy and the view is spectacular. Definitely recommended for a nice relaxing dinner.

The soup and salad bar is always great. They cook their meats to perfection, and the vegetables are cooked just right. The selection of alcohols is large and unique, and overall, the experience is wonderful. The best view to look out over orange county, and beautiful decorations. Wonderful place to visit with family members or friends.

Almost always oustanding! My friends that go there with us are irritated that every thing is sold separately on the entree. It still comes with the most amazing salad and soup bar ever. Very fresh. Very good customer service!!!!!

Excellent food! Courteous and responsive staff most of the time. moderate prices, huge portions. Great to share with an appetizer. In most cases plan on bringing home your next days lunch and possibly another dinner. One of the high lights is the prime rib and sea scallops in a wine, lemon butter sause. These scallops are large sea scallops cooked to perfection in a lemon, butter & wine sauce. The beautiful views of Orange county at sunset are breath taking. Don't forget the amazing all you can eat soup and salad bar, (unlimited) they always boast a wide variety of homemade specialty salads and fresh ingredience, along with homemade dressings!fresh ingredients and a broad variety of toppings, specialty and seasonal ingredients and a wide range of house made salads like Thai peanut, cucumber dill, greek feta, pasta salads, red potato salad and more. They also have a nice selection of fresh fruit, along with a lovely choice of home made dressings. I highly recommend them for a refreshing, tasty and unique dining experience with beautiful views.

Dined here recently with a friend on a Saturday evening. Had made reservations about one week prior to our dinner here for 5:30 with an online service. What kind of made the beginning of my experience unpleasant was two things: Even at 5:30, all self parking was gone, there was only the $6 valet option. When making my reservation I definitely said table with view. When seated, we had a booth away from the windows. I noticed all the table near windows were 4 seaters, so I could understand. Yet, later in the evening, I saw at least two couples on two different window view tables. On the flip side, the food experience was great! We had grilled BBQ chicken, and top sirloin (pictures below). It came with an all you can eat salad & soup bar. We loved the comp. Cheese bread and each of us had a glass of wine. The total tab w/ tax & tip for the two of us was just under $90. The valet $11 (fee & tip).

Kudos to all of the staff of the Minning company. They made my daughter s birthday one the most and best memorable nights. Starting with Chirstin the event coordinator, to our wonderful set up guys, our most and best amazing bartender (everyone just loved him), to our wonderful guys who passed around the food. All young and willing to work hard. Not one person who didn t enjoy his or her job. Thank you boys and Christin for being who you are and being so great. Every single person went above and beyond to accommodate us and I thank you every single person who made my daughter s birthday, the most amazing birthday ever. You will always be number one on my list.

This was a great place to go for a dinner to celebrate my mothers birthday. We brought all the kids with us so it was quite the crew.

Two of the kids saw Mac and Cheese on the happy hour menu while we waited in the bar and locked in on that. Problem was they didnt offer mac and cheese as a kids meal in the dining room. The waiter was very accommodating though, he had them ring it up as the chicken tenders kids meal and substituted the mac and cheese.

The oldest kid decided he only wanted to eat appetizers so we got a few extra, but they didn't fill him up since everyone was sharing them. Fortunately they were happy to allow him to share bowls of chili and soup from the salad bar that came with each of our four adult entrees.

I had the shrimp scampi and it was great. I loved the salad bar, and tried several different combos. The only salad I didn't like was the Asian chicken salad, which didn't taste quite right.

The kids were amazed by the views and wanted to look out the window all night.

Overall this was a very enjoyable first dining experience at Orange County Mining Company.
