Great venue to see live music. Saw Josh Ritter and greatly enjoyed. A commendation to the very friendly and helpful bouncers who showed us where to go.

If you are looking for a friendly and welcoming venue for great music/drinks look no further!

Fantastic, out with the Old in with the New

Great to see such a building used for something more constructive, "a pub".

We love seeing historic buildings being used for better social gatherings and entertainment.

The place is likely, friendly and really social.
We love it.

Recommendation
Fully recommended and please convert the rest of these buildings into something more useful.

One of the very best bar restaurants in Glasgow. It's as simple as that! The design and decor is a must to see, the range of drinks is very impressive and the staff are excellent. Prices are average for Glasgows West End. WELL worth a visit!

The evening I arrived into Glasgow, I enjoyed a cider in the vast bar. It was a little drafty but I figured that this was the tradeoff for boozing in a centuries-old stone building with cool details. Lots of stained glass, central bar with carved wood, and little nooks and crannies for seating. Tons of artwork adorned the ceiling and walls. Oh, and my cider from Somerset was excellent. The following day, I took the group I was traveling with, to attend "A Play, a Pie, and Pint," which was a noontime performance of a play in their basement. Tickets were only $12. The play was a comedy called "Jocky Wilson Said," and featured a lot of bawdy humor, most of which my untrained American ears did not comprehend.

Attended the venue offering A Play, a Pie and a Pint(or wine or soft drink). It was brilliant. Had coffee and bacon roll beforehand,as we had to wait and queue up in the bar to enter the small stageroom in the basement. It was really good and worth the wait(the play was very popular). Only draw back for me personally was the standing in a queue for a considerable peiod which was painful as I have a mobility problem.
Will certainly attend again but unwilling to stand and wait entry into the room where play was staged in order to gain a seat with a good view of the actors. I'll take my chances and wait seated upstairs in the cosy and atmospheric bar, until the play begins minutes before, to save the pain and unease of standing for a considerable time.

The Oran Mor is lovely, from the moment you step into the grand staircase with all the artwork you know it's going to be nice. The bar food menu is fab, lots of traditional Scottish dishes in a cosy relaxed environment; or if you fancy something a bit more upmarket their Brasserie can not be faulted and is a great place to take your parents for dinner when they visit!

1 star is too much. Walked in with my wife, past 2 girls working the entry till. No comment from either girl. Walked past assuming it was still free entry. Bouncer said go back and pay. We did. Still no response from the entry girls. We assumed some miscommunication between the staff. The big biggie looking bouncer sent us back to pay saying if we put money down money we the will take it. Didn't know this was how clubs operated, but anyway but down a twenty to which both of the staff looked at us like ' move on'. Biggie the bouncer gave it yaldi that wouldn't fly in any other respectable job. He insulted me, called him an insult back. Never tired so hard to pay to get into a club. Stereotypical bouncer mentality thinking his attitude would be respected anywhere outside his profession. Pleb. Moved on easily enough and wouldnt be attempting again.

A wonderful place. An old church turned pub. The service is very good, there is a variety of beers and it is tastefully decorated. In addition, they have a menu with many well presented Scottish dishes. It is famous for its haggis.

Was at a wedding here and the venue was superb, Food was superb and the staff organising the change from wedding ceremony to the seating for the meal were on the ball. Thoroughly enjoyed my day. Would have gave it 5. But for the bar staff downstairs who never seemed to notice who was at the bar 1st and just served at random. Bar staff upstairs were hard working and efficient.

A play, a pie and a pint. Great concept. Brilliant performance. A wee bit chaotic system with two queues - one for tickets while those who booked online were already queuing for seats in a Ryanairesque free-for-all. Book online and get into the seats queue early. And have a drink whilst you wait.

I have such mixed opinions about the Oran Mor. I've had a work Christmas lunch here, which was excellent. The upstairs bar is stocked with just about every spirit you can think of, however it does get extremely busy, and this can be a problem when trying to order a drink. There is a fairly large outdoor seating area towards the front of the building, which come the sunny weather is always packed. I think my negative feelings towards it comes from going to the club nights, which end up being extremely expensive even for the West End. Good for casual drinks, but plenty of better places to go for a night out.

Went to Oran Mor with my wife to see Aaron Watson and had an awesome time - relatively intimate venue and great gig that had the crowd jumping. Area in front of the stage was crowded but was a great atmosphere for a midweek show, would definitely come back

The worst pub I ve ever been to in Glasgow. Overcrowded to the point of it breaching health & safety regulations. Bar staff absolutely clueless about who to serve next, literally stood at the bar for 15 minutes waiting to be served. Ended up leaving & going elsewhere.

Been here a few time, for either a gig, lunch, dinner or just a few drinks. Service, prices and atmosphere were all fine. Food was decent. Unfortunately seeing some of the poor reviews is disheartening, but I've never personally had any issues.
