Opportunity Junction is a place where you can actually gain or regain the necessary skills to find a career. They teach you life skills, like money and time management, as well as how to balance and budget life expenses. Opportunity Junction teaches computer literacy classes, quickbooks for accounting, excel and busines math classes. They help with financial counseling, resources for education, housing, food, healthcare, mental and domestic health and safety referrals. The training program at Opportunity Junction can help you find a career that you can grow in and live self-sufficiently. They take the time to get to know you as an individual to encourage growth and development to maximize your strengths, so you are knowledgeable and confident in your abilities. Once an Alumni of Opportunity Junction you're always part of this community of people who always only want to see you succeed. Alum can always return for refresher courses and resume building to stay updated marketable. All of these are only some of the things working with Opportunity Junction can do. Not to mention the amazing potlucks luncheons and evening celebrations that are inevitable in such a genuinely helpful community environment. If you're in need of a kickstart on the road to self-sufficiency Opportunity Junction has definitely got you and your best interests covered.
I have been wanting to learn more about Excel, so this was perfect for me. I hope they continue the Zoom classes!

These folks paid for my first classes in tech. They, along with SparkPoint, helped me for YEARS to get from those first tech classes to later tech classes, though ALL of the contract jobs and nonprofits on my path. That path has gotten me to here: moved out of my Mom's house, living in the city on my own, a full employee, and the ability to work remotely at home during the shelter-in-place. I remain incredibly grateful for Opportunity Junction. Oh! Also, as someone who has gone from low-income to moderate-income, Opportunity Junction remains the only tax help filing service that does not have an income cap. They can help anyone; and they are amazing. Alana Chisholm is the best instructor I have ever seen, as well as one of the most dedicated humans to helping other humans.
Not happy with this program, everything change its not the same, it should give more opportunity to people not just waiting if you been selected to join in the program. Never again doing business with this place. Find something else this program just gets your hope up until later not good.
This is a place of opportunity for the Antioch community, their staff is helpful, kind and their volunteer instructors are knowledgeable and patient. What amazes me is the instructors are committed to providing excellent quality of service. Refer your friends and family!
Opportunity Junction was so helpful! I had an unexpected change to my situation in 2019 that led me to shift my career path. I was excited to try something new, and luckily I was in a position to be able to take the time needed to find an option that provided the qualities I wanted in a fulfilling career. I felt confident in my ability to find a new job, but the Opportunity Junction team was highly referred and I figured that the more help I could get, the better. I wasn t sure if it would be beneficial for my situation, because I already had a great resume written, and I do quite well with interviews, so I was apprehensive going in. My career counselor, MJ, was absolutely amazing. She helped me really dig into what I was passionate about, and her positivity helped propel me forward. I found her coaching to be very supportive, and it gave me the extra motivation I needed to not settle for an option that I might not have been satisfied with long-term. Her supervisor Shaun was really helpful as well and made sure I received referrals for solid positions that provided the pay and benefits that I was looking for. After a variety of interviews with numerous organizations, I finally found the perfect career opportunity that matched my needs, and the introduction to that position came straight from MJ and Shaun. I could not be more appreciative of their help! I'm extremely satisfied with my experience with Opportunity Junction, I could not have asked for more! Thank you MJ and Shaun!
So far so good, only been there two days and i like and there staff is incredible!
