La Scala is always a unique experience, even after having been there dozens of times. First time for a ballet, which I don't particularly like, but which I appreciated for the quality of the music and the skill of the corps de ballet.

Each time is always a great emotion. Friendly and welcoming staff. Comfortable places and clean bathrooms. The shows clearly always manage to leave you breathless whether it's opera or ballet. After all, one cannot expect differently from the Teatro alla Scala. One thing I have enjoyed lately is that just outside the left of the theater, where cycles and motorbikes were parked, they put benches and a monument that creates a beautiful little square. Now there is an image of theater from outside more suited to what it represents for Italy and for the world

Opened in the late eighteenth century, the Teatro alla Scala, which owes its name to the church of Santa Maria della Scala, which occupied the site previously, it is now one of the most renowned and prestigious theaters in the world. Equipped with exceptional acoustics, the Theater was the venue for exceptional composers and orchestra conductors such as Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi and Toscanini. Here the most famous and appreciated opera singers and dancers in the world have performed.

The Teatro alla Scala, often referred to informally as "la Scala", is the main opera house in Milan. Considered as one of the most prestigious theaters in the world, for 240 years it has hosted the main artists in the international field of opera, and, more generally, of classical music, often commissioning works still present in the billboards of the major theaters in the world.

The theater was inaugurated on 3 August 1778 with Europe recognized composed for the occasion by Antonio Salieri and took its name from the church of Santa Maria alla Scalademolita to make way for the New Regio Ducal Teatro alla Scala [2] [3].

Since its foundation it has been the seat of the homonymous choir, [4] of the orchestra [5], of the corps de ballet, [6] and since 1982 also of the Philharmonic. [7] The theater complex is located in the square of the same name, flanked by the Casino Ricordi, now home to the La Scala Theater Museum.

The premises

The first structures dedicated to opera in Milan were the court theaters that alternated in the courtyard of the Royal Palace: a first hall named after Margaret of Austria-Styria, wife of Philip III of Spain, erected in 1598 and destroyed by a fire. January 5, 1708 and the Regio Ducal Teatro, built nine years later at the expense of the Milanese nobility on a project by Gian Domenico Barbieri. [8]

For the stage of these theaters, works by important composers were commissioned, including: Nicola Porpora (Siface), Tomaso Albinoni (The fortress at the cimento), Christoph Willibald Gluck (Artaxerxes, Demofoonte, Sofonisba, Ippolito), Josef Myslive ek (The great Tamerlano), Giovanni Paisiello (Sismano nel Mogol, Andromeda), Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Mithridates, king of Pontus, Ascanio in Alba, Lucio Silla)

The most famous opera house in Italy, quality programming with simple and effective staging. Although the tickets look like stuff for the rich, the gallery costs only 12 euros, but it is not easy to reserve seats.

The Theater known all over the world, attracts the tourist, the visitor, the show is guaranteed. Its location is in one of the most visited areas of the Metropolis and surrounded by Stellate beauties, see the Gallery, the Duomo, Palazzo Marino, the Piazza della Scala, the beautiful monument dedicated to the Genius, Leonardo da Vinci and much more. Experience really magical and exciting, I was in the front rows and I could admire the often ecstatic expressions of the musicians. All around elegance, beauty, art, history of Milan. Really an evening not to be forgotten.

Wow amazing get to see the auditorium from a box. The gentleman on the box office was very accommodating as I had a suitcase with me that was too big for the lockers so he came out and stored it around the back of his office. Event service and great little museum. Probably worth getting the tour but I didn't have time as had to get to the airport.
