Opera Hotel Kiev Review

Nice hotel in Kyiv, large rooms and comfortable public spaces. Bathroom was a bit dull (cold light). Attentive and friendly service and good room service - the food was delicious. The hotel is a bit away from the touristic centre (only about 10 min walk).

Things simply work at this hotel. The overall atmosphere was very nice, friendly, and attentive. The staff was always willing to go an extra mile to help me with various arrangements whether it was about booking a taxi or recommending a restaurant for having a dinner.

I made a request for a quiet room well in advance. The hotel was fully able to cater to my needs on this front. The room I received was very spacious, extremely quiet, clean, and well-maintained. I also greatly appreciated the Molton Brown bath and body products in the bathroom.

One thing regarding the location of this hotel. Yes, the location is good and definitely within a walking distance from the heart of Kiev and its main shopping areas. However, please note that the central part of Kiev is very hilly and it does take some time to walk from Hotel Opera to the main shopping streets/areas. One of the reasons for this is that when you get out of the hotel you must first turn right and climb up a relatively steep and long hill. Of course, taking a taxi is always a viable idea as it typically costs only about 4 euros no matter whether it is a short distance or a slightly longer distance within the city center area. It is, however, worth noting that Hotel Opera is located in a nice, fairly quiet residential area in Kiev and there are some nice restaurants and specialty stores within a 5-minute walking distance.

Hotel Opera has a very nice terrace bar just in front of the hotel where they serve a fairly wide variety of drinks and snacks. The breakfast at the hotel is also worth mentioning it was substantial and one could taste the freshness of the ingredients.

In my opinion, you get a lot of value for your money at Hotel Opera, even though one must admit that it is not an aggressively priced hotel. However, be prepared for paying for luxury in Kiev it does apply to this hotel as well.

Friendly and helpful staff, large rooms, decorated in a palace style. But clean and tidy. Restaurant food very good, although the breakfast selection was very modest.

Ideally located in the heart of Kyiv at the crossroads of the city's business, cultural and historical districts, the 140-room boutique Opera Hotel is within walking distance of the Opera House, St. Sophia and St. Vladimir churches and Kyiv s main business and Embassies district.

I got a room in the French style - very beautiful, I was especially impressed by the ozarite decorations on the window handles of the window frames, this French decoration looked worthy on the windows of this style.

Traditional 5* hotel in the center of Kyiv, but located in quiet street. I've been there 3 or 4 times over the past 5 or 6 years and the place is very well maintained. Good service, very large rooms, nice and calm lobby.

The hotel is not new but in a very well-kept, clean condition. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Breakfast is delicious. I really liked the room. Especially the bed.

The hotel is very beutiful, located in a relative quite streat, within a walking distance to the main street of kiev.

You have a little bit of steps to go into the hotel lobby but the staff here have a wheelchair and a sort of lift to help those who cant manege the steps.
The staff here are increadible, very helpful and inviting always with a smile and always with a positive attitude. The staff will help you with anything from recomandation of were to go to and all the way of helping you carry your plate to the table at breakfast if you need the assistance.

The food here is also very good, at breakfast you have a lovely assortment of fruit and vegetables, cheeses and cold cuts along with hot meals and fresh juices.
Dinner was good as well with delicious ukrane borche soup and excuisit chicken kiev and the prices are very affordable and again the service with a smile.

The rooms was very spacious and the design is nice, the bed is comfy, the pillows are very soft but you can ask for firmer pillows, the rooms have a desk, complimentry water, coffee/tea station and a minibar fridge, in the closet you have a good size safe, but you dont have enough shelfs (only 4) the rest is for hanging you clothes, you have bath as standard in the rooms but they have rooms with a shower but take note that the shower is very narrow and cramped, you have a tall step leading into the shower and in the shower you dont have any railings to hang on to.

All in all we enjoyed it very much and we definetly want to come back again, to the staff of the hotel we want to say thank you for such a lovely hospitality.

I spent several days in this hotel, and immediately after I went for a massage and a sauna, I found strange spots on my body. I will not talk about stains in detail, but pay attention to sanitary hygiene. I am not one of those who raise a fuss, and did not take a certificate from the doctor that this is really a consequence of either the lounger where the massage was done, or the sauna itself, but I ask all visitors to pay attention. Not a nice thing. By the way, the massage was terrible, not worth the money at all. I speak as an experienced connoisseur of good massage.

The cuisine at the hotel is amazing. If you ask me where to eat in Kiev, the first thing that comes to mind is Opera. Moreover, very stable quality in the preparation, which is a sign of professionalism. And I love the signature smell of cosmetics from this hotel. Well, the service is always flawless. Excellent organization of corporate evenings is suitable for this place, today it was at one of these dedicated to the finish of the Road Show of Turkey. The waiters surprised them very much and they quickly coped with the tasks. There were no hitches on coffee breaks; everything was served quickly. Spacious conference rooms. The one and only thing was hot to me. Air conditioners could not cope with a lot of people, but maybe they didn t catch a cold.

Terrible place. Worse than we have never been served.
We went with a colleague to dinner and we were mistaken for girls of easy virtue.
One of the guests asked if I was free today.
The staff didn't want to serve us. The table was dirty.
They showed us all that we were not welcome here. They didn t offer anything, didn t ask if we liked the dinner, didn t offer to hang our coats.
The receptionists behind the counter whispered and laughed.
We were the only girls in the lobby on the first floor. There was no live music promised on their website!
All men were treated excellently. All the staff greeted them, offered drinks and menus, smiled.

It is a hotel that is perfectly comparable to a five-star hotel in Spain. It is characterized by having adequate facilities and very friendly specialized staff. Your attention is full of details.

I stayed 3 nights there. Service was perfect, we just call the reception and in 2 minutes we got fast and kind room service. I needed to work in a computer for a bit, and they provided me with the laptop, I really appreciate for their help.
Spa with jacuzzi was really relaxing. The gym has good new equipment.
Just I would like to mention 1 minus, it's conditioning system, I was at the beginning of March and in the room was hot, and when open a window it's going to be cold in a few minutes. So it was hard to control temperature inside my room.
Nevertheless those days were really great staying at the Opera Hotel.

Great location in the center (a taxi to the main street costs $ 3).
Exceptionally courteous staff, everyone is ready to help and recommend any question and request 24 hours a day. Standard rooms are large and very clean. No hotel in the world we have been to has encountered the quality of such service. On the last day my husband had a birthday and they brought us a cake and champagne to their room at their expense. Every morning was sycamore at our request and always brought coffee to the room for free. I asked them to order balloons and a birthday cake from an outside company and the hotel took care of everything including the transfer of payment as I did not have a suitable card. The cleanliness of the hotel at the level of 10 stars The bathroom is polished as if it had never been used. When we checked out they offered us to join their club for free and in return get a breakfast in each of their hotels during their free stay, which we also did not encounter in any hotel.
Not only will we recommend to anyone who asks about a hotel in Kiev to this hotel we are sure to return again this year. The hotel left us with such a positive experience that we never stop getting excited about it.
