Absolutely splendid place to visit while visiting The Juwel of Tuscany such as Florence. Easy to get in without the need to prebook tickets. The entrance is on the left side of this monument when looking at the front of it. I've waited approximately about 10 minutes in the queue and managed to get in. Most of the people, that ment something in Florence are buried inside. Such as Galileo Galilei, Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo as well as the most members of Pazzi family, my ancestors. They were ceased by Medici family and exterminated. Must see while in Florence.

Remarkable well-preserved frescoes and original 14th-century furnishings give a good idea of how the whole church must have looked in the 14th century when it was completely covered with paintings.

One can not go through Firenze and not stop here. You have to enjoy the views of this basilica and as a good tourist point, there are usually people in this place. Pulling at night the place is usually quieter.

I took one of those Really-Fast trains from Rome to Florence to spend a single day to pay my respects to (IMHO) the greatest artist ever Michelangelo. Saying my rosary directly in front of the humble sculpture s remains was one of the highest spiritual points of my life kissing Jesus Crown of Thorns last April is the only thing that comes close. That, of course was in Paris Notre Dame Cathedral.

Visited October 2017. Beautiful building! Waited in the queue to go inside, but didn't make it. It was a very tragic day. A Spanish tourist was killed in the building when a block of marble came loose in the ceiling, fell 66 ft. and killed the man. It was a traumatic day for all in the church that day. By God's grace I was not in the building when the incident happened.

A great surprise. The tranquility it conveys to us is excellent. To see the magnificent tombs of great men at reasonable prices and without the stiffness of the other spaces is the best there can be.

As this church features in one of my favourite novels, A Room with a View, I felt obliged to visit. The byzantine front is just a facade but inside is beautiful, better than the Duomo in central Florence, in my opinion.
