Pity the long queues for visits. I wasn't used to waiting
Very nice, of course, when you see the Vatican it has nothing
Great church. very crowded but the wait was worth it :-)
A fascinating and very rich place. Night visit recommended.
It is a beautiful church, one of the most beautiful in Florence
Wonderful, inside and out! You have to see it and visit it to fully understand how important such a treasure is for our culture
Basilica impressive by the outside and very beautiful inside. There are the tombs of Michelangelo, Galileo ... Like everything in Florence, big time.
Large square with a wonderful church to visit ... and during the Christmas season it is embellished with the Christmas market ...
Beautiful basilica where inside there are the tombs of illustrious Florentine era
They have succeeded in making the most beautiful square in the world ugly
Beautiful exterior but the interior is destabilizing simplicity after all the wonders visited around
Magnificent ! As much outside as inside. The price of the ticket is entirely donated to an association that deals with the maintenance / renovation of the basilica. Small nice museum to visit.
As with all churches, cathedrals or basilicas shoulders and knees should be covered to enter. They sell kimono for 1 at the entrance if needed.
The Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence, is one of the largest Franciscan churches in the square of the same name
Florence is one of the largest Franciscan churches and one of the greatest achievements of Gothic in Italy
A beautiful place without the crowds that can be found at other sites in Florence. Beautiful ! All for a price more than reasonable
The place is definitely worth a visit even if some points have been closed to the public for Co Covid. But what you can see is absolutely worthy as the architecture, the paintings and the numerous tombs present inside primarily that of Michelangelo. Absolutely not to be missed while visiting Florence. Recommended top.
Florence where the Renaissance began
And you can experience the beginning and end of Florence, the Holy Cross Cathedral, must visit place.
If you are a Catholic, please say "Sono Cattolico".
You can enter the prayer room for the believers only.
The Renaissance murals that began with Geo, the torch (Ikon) where the golden ratio and emotion are revealed faithfully,
The tomb of Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, who made the golden age of the Renaissance
Of course, where you can meet the Medici family and Dante, who have created the philosophical foundation of all these Renaissance art.
Beautiful church with marbles and many paintings with gilded frames, artistic windows in the apse but what most amazed me is the large quantity of tombstones or even monumental tombs of historical figures of all ages (although not all of them contain the coffin) but it seems that there was the will to pay homage to and remember illustrious artists, scientists and inventors somehow linked to Florence. You can also visit the old sacristy with furniture and other rooms with different wooden crucifixes, while going out you can enjoy the green of the two cloisters.
Do not forget to know it for its content, impressive tombs, the best within the dry square and close to everything cultural
Could not get inside to appreciate, but it looks very nice
Probably the most impressive piece of historical architecture I've ever seen. Definitely recommend getting one of the 'skip the line' guided tours. Not only do you get to skip the line, you also get access to places that the general public doesn't.
A very beautiful basilica which contains many magnificent tombs among which those of Michelangelo, Machiavelli or even Galileo and Dante!
Bustling square in front of the church with vendors and restaurants... Great place to sit on a bench and eat a Gelato!
The marbles of the facades and also its magnificent interior
Spectacular outside, inside ... disappoints expectations.
Magnificent basilica still under renovation when I went there.
It is a basilica museum with many works of art such as the crucifix by Cimabue and Donatello, the frescoes by Giotto and the sepulchres of many Italian geniuses (including Michelangelo 's).
It is always nice to visit the center of Florence !!
Nice to look at. Many great personalities are buried here. Not quite as crowded as the cathedral.
Visiting Florence is worth seeing the Basilica of Santa Croce. Is one of the most important Franciscan temples in Italy. The church is a kind of national pantheon for Italians, because it is the burial place of famous Italian people such as Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, and Rossini. A beautiful place, there is something to explore.
An emblematic basilica of the city. A tribute to its artists and patricians. Unmissable Excited to visit her on the day of the ruling against Catalonia ...
We had been to Florence previously, but not to this part of the city. I believe that this basilica is the burial place of Michelangelo or Galileo, or both. Regardless, this is the district to go to for quality leather goods. Shop carefully - there are a number of shops that sell Italian leather, but not high quality. My wife got a quality Peruzzi purse at a fair price. I got 2 belts - not cheap, but very good quality. Look for solid, one-piece, not bonded (glued), with dye through the product. It won't be cheap, but it will last.
The most interesting church in Florence if not in the country. The place where the most important masters are buried.
It is a wonderful place without a doubt if you have the opportunity to go do not miss it and visit the
The best of all is that they give you a totally free audio guide.
Unforgettable, to visit absolutely even the crazy cloister and chapel
To learn more about this historical place you must visit and see for yourself....
I was unable to visit the Basilica because I had a small trolley and there is no luggage storage, the day before I arrived just before closing and they provided me with all the information except the "small detail" of the suitcase !!!!
