Visited Ontario Place for the Winter Light Exhibit...

Visited Ontario Place for the Winter Light Exhibition and had a fantastic time. Entry was free, and since we took transit we didn't have to worry about parking.

The exhibits themselves were unique, interesting and interactive, and visiting at a later hour meant we could enjoy the displays without worrying about any crowds. Exploring Ontario Place was tons of fun and we'll be sure to return during the summer if there are any events or art installations set up.

Only recommendation if visiting during the winter would be to bring a good pair of boots. Some of the paths weren't salted and remained quite icy, so a good pair of grippy boots go a long way.

Ontario Place is a beautiful space built and owned by Ontarians. Let's not let the Ford government sell it off to private interests to make a quick buck. This space is incredible and has so much more potential!

We came down to enjoy the final day of the winter festival. Seeing a movie in the cinesphere was really great and would definitely recommend it. We wandered around and settled on going for a skate in the ice rink, which was surprisingly empty. Once we had rented our skates and helmets - we hit the ice. Problem was, it wasn't real ice. What a let down. It felt like we were trying to skate on a bunch of kitchen cutting boards strung together. What a waste of money. Putting on skates to shuffle around on plastic! This is Canada! And winter! Please, make some real ice next time. We were so disappointed and it really took away from the whole day.

Not sure why they decided to create a big parking lot on the site this year. Asphalt looks terrible, and looks like a lot of healthy trees were cut down and grass/green space removed compared to last year. Who wants to stand on hot asphalt? The eatery on the water has a nice view, but that's about it. Staff are slow and the food is poor quality. There were about 6 staff working and they all seemed to be confused as to what they should be doing. This place has so much potential, but lack of maintenance and addition of asphalt really take away from the experience.

It was good company! The entrance was very expensive! The stuff in side was expensive as well! The line ups where crazy and we ended up with so many tokens because everything closed early!

The walking paths they've invested in are great. So nice. But seriously, do something with all those old Ontario Place buildings. They are all abandoned. Put in some nice cafes, shops, local artists etc and transform that part of it.

Came to Ontario Place for the winter Aurora Fest. It was a very magical night, with all the decoration and the activities that were set up, such as skating, a live band, and the treasure hunt, or mystical world quest that was set up. The only problem was that more could have been done with the space, as there was a lot of empty space still available and our lap of the park was short lived before we decided we d had enough and seen it all, but as it was their first year, I expect it was a sort of trial run and they have more planned for the future.

Went to the night market with two friends. Had a nice fun Friday. Then back to Sailors for drinks. I miss Ontario Place still a great place for date nights. But I wish desperately they would put a fresh coat of paint on the pods and all the lights on and the grounds trimmed and flowered.

This place is great to go to when there is an event going on
Taco fest
Pizza fest
BBQ bourbon fest
Rum fest
Aurora festival
It's so much fun and there's plenty of parking except when the Exhibition is going on during the last 2 weeks of August, onsite parking is difficult

Went to a concert at Budweiser Stage. Decent venue for atmosphere, but crappy sound quality. Also, leaving the parking lot after the show took over an hour. They seriously need police on point duty to get cars out of those lots!

Did our engagement pics here during a light exhibition and it was so magical.. this place is a landmark and should continue to be used in a better way for ontario residents. Absolutely love being there in summer and fall.

Seldom used to its fullest anymore, the park has an eerie feeling to it. A place where people used to flock for food and fun, now mostly abandoned looking unless there is an airshow or concert. You can still rent paddleboard and kayaks and paddle along the structures. Some pop up basketball nets provide mild entertainment, until the ball rolls into the water. Great place to fish, lots of little pockets to throw a line in. Washrooms, amazingly, are well kept, clean and plentiful. I wish they would put some money back into this place.

Honestly could have been planned differently when built as a lot more could have fitted in!
The cafeteria next to the rink doesn t have a good variety of food!
Other than that, nice place for the family!

It is a nice place to take a quiet walk surrounded by water and the grounds are very clean. There are plenty of areas to sit and enjoy a small picnic. They are still working on improving the areas. I look forward to seeing the finished product.
