One On One NYC has been nothing but good to me over the last 6 years I ve done the LA Trip, AIW, numerous CD workshops and have most recently signed up for the ATL Trip this coming weekend all my classes and workshops and programs have had various outcomes(some auditions, a few callbacks, a couple bookings, some networking - and a lot of no responses) but every single one of the programs has made me a better actor and in some ways a better (more patient/less anxious) person. I ve always stuck with One On One for a majority of my CD/Agent&Mangager workshops because of its level of professionalism and the type of actors it attracts- I greatly appreciate the way the space is maintained overall (to be honest of course it has its off nights/days, but what communal environment doesn't?), and the actors that are in the room with you tend to be as focused and passionate as you would expect a professional to be, it s really rare that you experience an extremely unprofessional time waster in your class. And finally, when it comes down to it - once the One On One community/behind the scenes knows you a bit, they really try to do you right. I have had other actors I met in class get me auditions/write things for me after meeting here and I have done the same for others. And I will forever be greatful for the entire staff and Marc, the owner, for their working a schedule around and holding space for me when my grandmother hit her deathbed right before the ATL Trip. This is a solid team of people making it all happen and a really great place to develop your network for acting, I genuinely recommend it from all my overall experiences, allllll the good and even the few not so good. Everything is a lesson :)

Total scam, I did 2 monologues and didnt get accepted to become a member, I am union, have an agent, been going to big auditions and training on reputable schools where I have been improving month by month. not to mention my monologues have been use as examples by my teachers to other students. they did encorage me to come back some time soon for a another "audition " this place just want to have your money. TOTAL SCAM!!!!!

Shockingly unprofessional. Readers are disorganized. Staff couldn't care less. Marc Isaacman, the Executive Director, acts like he cares about the actors, but this place is only concerned with filling classes as quickly as possible and getting as much money as they can from poor actors.

You can see the same casting people at other NYC workshop studios for way cheaper.

No one should ever use "Passion" as an excuse for unkind, unconstructive and abusive feedback. We all need to do better. There are ways to be passionate without hurting a student who is trying to learn.

I believe there are many casting directors that do not use their words well and are more hurtful than helpful to many students at these organizations. Because they are in a position of power, and are a gatekeepers to unlocking time with major networks, people are afraid to speak up. And they feed into their power trip and forget we are all still human. No one is above anyone else.

I hope there will be actions put into place to make sure the casting directors who are teaching, take certain measures to learn how to be better teachers.

We have been here for auditions a couple of times and it was a pleasant experience. You walk in with a screen on the wall telling you what studio to go. It is a nice, modern and clean environment with enough seatings while you wait. Staffs are friendly.

MAJOR scam, unprofessional and treat actors very badly. If you don t believe me- take a look on Yelp. They will take your money and ban you when you speak up about their scamming practices and lack of respect towards actors. ActorsConnection is much better and professional. I will be sure to tell everyone about the experiences I and fellow actors had with this company.

I just joined One on One this week and attented the orientation Thursday. I was very impressed by the orientation. I feel like One on One is very sincere and genuine about wanting to help actors. It confirmed all the great things 2 acting friends of mine had to say about One on One. First off I really like that you have to audition and have to be accepted first before joining and that One on One set certain standards. also I like that they offer several services whether it s classes, private coaching, agency/ manager sessions. I also like that they offer free consultation on any questions you might have about the industry or opinions on your materials such as headshots, resumes etc. An the fact that they let you create a free profile with your headshots and reels on their website free of charge for casting directors to see is super awesome. This is all needed for every actor and I think very helpful for anyone who might be struggling transitioning to a professional career or finding direction. What I was most impressed by was after the orientation I was just sitting In the lobby and watching everything going on with other actors rehearsing, going over there lines walking in and out of rooms and I even had a chance to talk to a lot of actors and hear about their experiences and opinions about One on One which all were positive. The energy was so good and everyone was nice and helpful. I feel like I m apart of a new strong community and I feel confident and positive of what s to come with One On One. I definitely recommend this company to any actor, especially if you re new to New York or the professional side of it but I also feel there are also limitless opportunities every actor can benefit from no matter what stage of your career you re at!

Just had an initial audition. I don't know if I got in yet but either way, I have some initial observations. One on One has a very professional staff and great facilities with a nice lobby and studio space. I witnessed a class going on while I was there. Students were rehearsing in the lobby and it seemed like things were very well organized. My audition was conducted by a theater director/actor who was very helpful. I have been to facilities like this in the past where auditions were used as a sales pitch. Here, you can tell they are looking for people who want to learn and have some chops. I'm very impressed by that. It means the classes will be with people who aren't brand new - something I've also experienced at other places like this. Like I said, very early days for me here - haven't gotten in, haven't taken a class but... my first impression is very positive.

Although i fully stand with companies that allow talent to connect with manager and agents BE AWARE of the ones who are just there for a "Payday" i direct e-mailed three managers that are currently scheduled and SOLD OUT at one on one and i did this with an agents referral as well. All three replied and said they are not adding to their roster at this time or they are only looking for specific Ethnicities and Ages....yet that are still they gladly taking your money ...that said i myself have taken some classes at one on one and have noting negative to say about them as a company . This is just so you are fully aware that some of the Managers and Agents are just there for a payday and not even looking for talent. i gave this 2 stars not because they are poorly run but because they should not allow representatives who are not truely seeking new talent.
